Garden Iced Tea
Peach, elderflower and lemon with Ivy 1917 and afternoon tea blends
Hand chopped beef striploin with Tabasco dressing, cornichon, shallot, parsley, egg yolk and toasted granary
Crunchy fried prawns with green papaya, cucumber, edamame and a matcha tea sauce
Beautiful setting but staff rush to turnover tables and anxiety to keep distancing makes for an uneasy rushed experience...Distancing is of course absolutely necessary but a quality establishment manages risk and regulations without making the patrons feel chastised, which is not the case here.
Pancakes tasted like a good year tire
Excellent service from Angelo , food beautiful, shame we had to rush due to new Covid rules of 10 pm kerfew x
Lovely restaurant and great food. Since the 10pm curfew has come into place, service felt rushed and was reminded 3 times about our time there. I would still recommend but just be aware you will feel slightly rushed
Lovely food, great service and great atmosphere every time.
We decided to go to the Ivy Chelsea Garden to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having over the years really enjoyed our experience. On this occasion however we were disappointed. In the current climate when restaurants are keen to keep clients coming back, we did not appreciate being told on more than one occasion that for our 7:30 booking, the table would be needed at 9. Really when the restaurant needed to be vacated by 10? Also our Blackened Cod was cold. Tasty, but sadly cold. The general ambience was also lacking as we were put in one of the atriums in the garden and I had a breeze blowing down my neck. A bit of a letdown for our anniversary celebration.
A beautiful and lovely place to dine in, however the new rules of having 1hr 30 minutes does not make the experience pleasant. It is a fine dining restaurant which you will normally expect to have enough time to enjoy your meal (starter, main course and dessert), especially when you book to celebrate a special occasion (my birthday). It is understandable that because of the new Government guidelines and regulations, restaurants are trying to squeeze in as many bookings as possible and we respect that, but we felt rushed during each course. We were unable to enjoy our food, we couldn't finish our wine and were unable to order desserts; in fact we were not offered the desserts menu. We were given the bill as soon as the table was cleared and we were required to leave. On the booking confirmation it said: "Your table will be booked for 2 hours for parties of up to 4", which was okay. It would have been nice if the staff could have acknowledged the comments on the booking for those who made the booking before the new rules. We normally do not mind paying for fine dining and quality wine, but yesterday felt a rip off and food quality was not at its best. The new allocated times should be okay if people are going for just one course. The server (young gentleman) was nice though.
Always love the Ivy as its so close to home and great for an easy night out
Great place to eat out with friends or family. Enjoyed the experience.
Felt very rushed was told we had to finish up and leave or sit in the garden even though they had only just taken our mains away and wouldn’t of even had time for dessert. A real shame as it was for a birthday celebration, completely ruined the evening.
A Great Early dinner, outstanding service.
This was my 6th visit to The Ivy. As always the service, food and surroundings were great. I cannot say anything bad about it, and in these uncertain times where eating out is concerned, The Ivy is the most relaxing place to feel some normality.
Delicious meal but felt very rushed by the staff. Completely understand the need to book time slots during Covid but I think the 2 hour slot is too short for the kind on ambience you’re marketing
Excellent choice for a late lunch.
Covid measures very good ,well distanced ,lots of sanitiser and staff with masks
Fantastic setting, fantastic food, fantastic service (v COVID safe!) and fab tables beside us to gasp at the size of the portions (humungous!). Great selection of food, wine and cocktails... highly recommend!
The food was very good, the usual quality I like from the Ivy Chain. I was disappointed in the service from the restaurant the lady at the front door was rude and also we were originally seated outside before I stated that wasn’t what I had booked. Service not up to the usual standard
We were seated in the garden - lovely place to meet and catchup over brunch. Great service, great food!
We had a lovely lunch at the Ivy Garden Chelsea. Our waitress was kind and served us brilliantly throughout our lunch. Great value for money.
Nice venue. Enjoyed the experience, but felt the our waiter was a bit blunt and not as welcoming as I'd have anticipated. Food was good, good portions. Dissapointed we werent allowed to see or view the garden.
Cold, uncomfortable soace
The staff at the main door who are there to greet you are incredibly rude. They act as though you’re entering Buckingham Palace (or similar) and should feel privileged to be allowed in. The Ivy have done a good job of making quality food affordable to the average person and should therefore ensure that their staff are welcoming to all customers. It is a service industry afterall! There is no need for the staff to act as though they’re superior to their customers and make them feel unwelcome. It ruined our evening and was totally uncalled for! I also wrote an email to the restaurant and they haven’t responded nor will they pick up their phone. Would not be rushing to this restaurant again in future!
Second night with early curfew and they worked so hard to make it an enjoyable experience! Thank you so the waiting staff, who were excellent.
We waited a while for our order to be taken. Changed the house wines not so good now. We recommended the new dessert but asked to leave our table before they came coffee was served before the dessert as they were rushing us .
I’m a big foodie so my standards are quite high but I’m usually pretty fair! However, the Staff are not very friendly and the food is very underwhelming costing much more than it’s worth! But the atmosphere is good and it’s very aesthetically pleasing, otherwise nothing spectacular.
Restaurant was less than half full
Felt continually pressured all the way through the meal from 4 dofferent staff.
Was told table needed to be returned before we even ordered desert.
Not offered any explanation as to why as restaurant was empty.
Finally Offered table outside to have last drink.
After this being one of my favourite venues this time was my Worst experience ,
Will not be going back , would rather eat at home
The most beautiful restaurant with the most delicious food! The minute steak was incredible! Highly recommended!
I am so glad to have discovered The Ivy Chelsea Garden. It is always such a pleasure to dine there. Excellent service and a lovely ambience. Wonderful food and wine.
We had a really nice experience for a special occasion lunch. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Above average but not outstanding food. Overall we were very happy with our visit.
Great table. V good food. All great. Only felt a bit rushed for my guest !! being told twice as soon as we arrived we had to Leave by a certain time. They can just move people to the bar for coffees. No need to say stuff like this. It kind of kills the vibe
With the current climate it all felt a little bit too rushed. The first two courses were great, however, the cheese course was extremely disappointing.
Upsold on everything. Wooden service and cold blackened cod. Watered down brand now with non of the character. Not far off a new money version of Weatherspoons to be honest.
Amazing table. Thank u.
Food was ok but not the best, the inside was nice but not as nice as I expected
Very abrupt staff, booked weeks ago and was put on a terrible table. Didn’t inform me the table was only for 1hour and 45mins until the actual moment we showed up. Frosty management. Food average.
The manager of the conservatory area was appalling & should not be working for you. I removed the service charge from the bill which I have not done in decades. Get rid of her.
The restaurant is beautiful. The atmosphere was lovely. The only downside was the staff mentioned a few times how long we had at our table. Made me feel a bit rushed and pressured. The food was delicious 😋
Popped in for a quick snack to avoid getting stuck in traffic and managed to get an excellent quiet table in the outside conservatory area at 6 pm on the spur of the moment. We had excellent service from a delightful young lady and general attentiveness all around. Extremely impressed by the Covid care undertaken within the entrance area and staircase to WCs The letter was slightly marred by there being no paper towels and I need to pull too heavy doors open without protection
The ivy is a buzzing gem. It’s a successful well-oiled machine. We sat down at 5.30pm, the restaurant was already heaving, with a wonderful atmosphere. But the five of us felt we were being hastened through our meal by the waiter and the overly swift transition from starter to main course. Then he brought our bill without even asking us. We left at 7.15. Whilst we understand the Covid time restrictions, there was no mention of a second sitting after us, which we would have understood. Just felt we were being hurried along which wasn’t nice.
Always enjoy the Ivy but was surprised to be asked to leave at 3:30 when there were many tables of 2 available in our section. Would have probably stayed for another coffee or drink (or both!) but we were not given an option. Just curious as to why we were made to leave. Other than that we had a delicious meal and the service was, as usual, excellent.
Lovely Restuarant. I booked outside and was given a table inside, but the food service and decor were wonderful.
I have been many many times and it is my favourite London Restuarant
