The Ivy City Garden
The Ivy Collection’s first site in the City of London features an all-day-dining menu, private dining room, and hidden garden offering a tranquil al fresco escape from the hustle and bustle of the Square Mile. The restaurant boasts a summer water fountain, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows opening onto a hidden garden with its own bar. The Ivy City Garden’s outdoor space has a retractable roof, allowing diners to enjoy the garden all year-round.
Guests are also be able to enjoy our resident DJ; hitting the decks Friday from 6pm to close, all day Saturday and Sunday brunch.
Table for three, but size of table was too small once the food came. I am sure we would have been moved if I had asked. Coffee was great, but not very warm; again I should have asked for a hotter coffee but did not want to. Food was great, but felt as though it had been ready for a few mins before we got it. Had to ask for extra butter...one small patty for three servings of toast. We were given one more...
I will go back as I love the location, ambience and food.
Quick business lunch, as always all good. Apple tart is a must!
There were six of us at a table, where a plant was on the head of one of our party. The noise level was too high for us to hear what the person next but one to us was saying. The lamb rump special that I ordered was too tough to cut or chew (even after I had to get a steak knife) - this was taken off our bill after I complained. Getting the attention of our server was a challenge! Having a 12.5% service charge automatically on the bill is not appropriate if this is the standard we are too expect. I have eaten here before and in a number of other Ivy Market Grills. This was probably my worst experience for this brand
It was our daughter 20th Birthday and we were celebrating with breakfast
The whole experience was terrible , food cold, toilet not working and generally unfriendly . There was only 2 other table taken and they took a while to come back with the food and it was cold , no butter on the table or any offer of sauces
My husband complained and the manager kindly took money off the bill and produced a small birthday cake .
We will not be visiting again ruined our family celebration
Great place for a lazy Sunday brunch. The staff are great, the food is classic Ivy dishes and the ambiance was very chilled.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere and amazing food. Good value
This is my third visit and the food, drink and service is excellent. Shepherd’s pie was fab. The surroundings are beautiful. My only gripe is being charged £9 for a bottle of water!
Food was good as usual. The DJ I now noticed on various occasions could do with some improvement. If it had not been for the waiter who brought the starter and was extremely rude the rating would have been better. The remaining staff were pleasant and very friendly. Based on previous experiences I shall go back again/recommend the Ivy City to friends
The staff were efficient and friendly, the food was a decent size and price and came in good time. We really enjoyed our evening. The location was lively with good music at a decent level so it was easy to talk but with a good atmosphere.
A really nice restaurant with good food and great cocktails. highly recommend it for a special night out.
Great service overall - especially from the maitre d... other than with him, always had to ask to be served which was slightly annoying. Especially when I was quiet. Staff were always very polite and helpful when they got around to it and the food was delicious!
Covers over quality. Not in line with rest of group which is very good.
We all felt underwhelmed. We went for brunch and had to order toast after the scrambled eggs arrived , then offered butter so the meal came in three stages. The coffees were very small and waitress too keen to remove cups before we finished. We waited a good ten minutes on arrival before we asked someone to take our order. We were on a very small table more suitable for two people and having booked in advance had hoped for a better position. There was no atmosphere and the place was clearly more intent on getting ready for lunch
Lovely venue, great ambience. Hidden gem in the heart of the city and made the perfect location for our celebration meal!
A very good evening with delicious food, great cocktails and wine .
The service was so bad I really don’t know where to begin
This was our first weekday evening visit having been a number of times before on the weekend & we had a great time. Seated towards the back on a nice quiet table for two it was perfect for the surprise evening out I had planned. The food as always delicious , Jeff was a wonderful host & is a great ambassador for The Ivy. We will be back again.
City garden never disappoints for a quick business lunch. Great atmosphere and tasty food. It’s always busy there so make sure you make the reservation in advance
Service slow at times ordered drinks and waited some time, restaurant was pretty busy for a Tuesday night, and felt rushed when looking at dessert menu waitress must have come to our table 3 times in the space of a few minutes to ask what we wanted in the end we ordered nothing. Food was nice but expensive for such small portions also drinks were expensive. Would possibly visit again for a special occasion.
Never fails to deliver- staff are a credit to the restaurant & they even remembered to deliver a small birthday 'cake' during a busy lunchtime period without any prompting - Food is good too! A very pleasant restaurant experience enjoyed as much as my previous visits.
I regularly use the IVY restaurants but this is the first time I've visited City Garden. Happy to report same great service, same good menu and decent ambience. Food and wine ok but in truth not up to the same standard as other Ivy's outside of London. Would still recommend
Food was superb, the wait staff were great although maybe a bit busy to be super attentive. The welcome by the hostesses was frosty at best, our table wasn’t ready even when we prebooked and the bar was so busy we couldn’t sit down and had to stand waiting for 20 mins until our table was ready and then were quite rudely rushed to our table by the hostess as if they had been waiting for us?
Food was amazing and service was very good too. Had a really great time
"I love the relaxed feel and decor– the service is great, lovely food., the monk fish curry is one not to miss, & the gourmet fish & chips, definitely would return to try more dishes. I have been 4 times so far, one of my favourite spots. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
I have been to other Ivy restaurants and ordered the same thing. The food is much better at the other restaurants. The service at City Garden is also inferior than to the others I have visited. Staff at the other restaurants are so attentive and helpful. The service at The Ivy City Garden was nowhere near this. It wasn't terrible but we were pretty much forgotten about. For example, no one asked us how was our meal, the table wasn't totally cleared between courses, we were given the dessert menu but no one returned to ask us if we wanted to order dessert and getting the bill took forever!
Really nice lunch!
Our server was really helpful to help create a pregnancy friendly meal and the orange juice was a treat. Lovely setting & really pretty venue.
We had a quick birthday dinner and the staff were friendly, kind and super fast. Food was amazing!
Perfect meal - have never had better service in a restaurant. Perfect timing between courses, attentive but not in your face waiter. All food was delicious with a great choice at differing price points. Particularly liked the seafood curry main course and tempura prawn starter. Buzzy but relaxed atmosphere with cool DJ playing great tunes at the perfect volume (this was on a Saturday evening). Very good Bloody Mary. Only slight criticism is would have liked to see a greater variety of wines in the £25 to £35 price bracket. We will definitely be back.
Great date night out. Really fun atmosphere and the food is really tasty with something for everyone. Will definitely be back again and again!
Always a treat to eat here. Food great, staff welcoming, service brilliant.
I came early to put a balloon on our table- we were celebrating a friend’s retirement. I was horrified when I was told to remove it in no uncertain terms. I felt upset, angry and unwelcome. If that’s the rule, it should be made very clear on booking. Why humiliate guests on arrival? Shame on you, The Ivy.
Great atmosphere but service was poor and food was hit and miss depending on choice.
Some dishes were over priced for the portion and quality.
Forever my favourite place to eat in London - food, service and atmosphere all wonderful!
I love this place. First time I've been on a Friday evening and it didn't disappoint. Had a lovely evening with a friend catching up. Due to traffic my friend was late but when I called up they were more than accommodating and pushed out table back an hour no problem. The cocktails are to die for (Earl Grey was my favourite) and the food the same. The main part though is the environment. It's relaxed but lovely. Great music. Great service. Also, no table turning :) Don't change! I'll definitely be back.
Service was a bit slow, but staff were very friendly and polite, and the food was really good and good value for money.
Service was good but food was disappointing. Fish pie was very runny and shepherds pie cold ! We were not charged for 4 of the 6 meals which went some way to help. However we would have obviously preferred the food to be better. This has never happened before so hopefully our next time will be better.
I would recomend to a friend, however it is teribbly noisy which ruined the visit a little. We booked for a business lunch and did not manage to discuss anything as we could not hear each other.
Great atmosphere - we loved the ambience and will a) definitely return and b) recommend to others.
