The Ivy City Garden Ratings and Reviews
The food was great - delicious and the portion sizes were decent too. Shared 2 starters in 3 of us and there was enough for everyone. The waiters were attentive. The restaurant manager at one point realised our waiter was busy so he took our order - certainly don’t see managers pulling their weight in other restaurants! You can clearly see everyone works as a team in The Ivy.
Perfect place for meeting up with friends! Can’t wait to go back!
The staff made the entire experience memorable and pleasant. They were not only friendly but helpful and patient, especially with my younger child. After reading some of the previous reviews, I was initially worried that the children might eat too slowly and we would be rushed to leave. However, besides us, we realised that the ones around us were also allowed to chat over food and drinks without being rushed by the staff. It was helpful when the staff cleared the empty plates promptly, especially with children around.
Food was tasty and not too salty, even to the fussy child. Portion, especially the roasted half chicken and fish & chips, was good that we had to give the desserts a miss. The Ivy G&T and Candy Floss Fizz were worth the try too.
Food was amazing, could not fault it. We were at in a corner and had no other diners around us which did feel slightly strange as it did feel as though we were very separate from everyone. I understand some people may like this but it was not for me. My only complaint would be that once we asked for the bill it did that the serving staff a very long time for them to come back over to us with the receipt and then even longer with a card machine. We had made it clear we were going to pay on card so I did not see why it took as long as it did
Lovely family meal after a theatre matinee before getting train home from Liverpool Street Station. We are a foodie family and everyone very much enjoyed their meal. Service was attentive. It was not too crowded at 5.30pm which was perfect as no one too close as this affects my father's enjoyment due to hearing issues. All in all I would definitely revisit and a lovely end to a treat day in London. Thank you.
Date night with my wife. We had a beautiful meal. Tempura prawns were cooked to perfection. My wife had the shepherd’s pie that she really enjoyed. I had fish and chips and it was excellent. Finished with a chocolate bombs - delicious. Wine a tad expensive. Overall thoroughly recommended.
Brilliant - only problems were
1) accoustics - very noisy to the extent that the waiter could not hear us and vice versa ...
2) tight space whilst sitting at bar with people and staff squeezing past
3) tight stairs to toilets ... single file with a lot of waiting for people to pass going up and down ..
.. and I’m not a large person !
All that said can’t wait to come back !
