The Ivy City Garden
The Ivy Collection’s first site in the City of London features an all-day-dining menu, private dining room, and hidden garden offering a tranquil al fresco escape from the hustle and bustle of the Square Mile. The restaurant boasts a summer water fountain, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows opening onto a hidden garden with its own bar. The Ivy City Garden’s outdoor space has a retractable roof, allowing diners to enjoy the garden all year-round.
Guests are also be able to enjoy our resident DJ; hitting the decks Friday from 6pm to close, all day Saturday and Sunday brunch.
We had a birthday celebration dinner for a friend recently. Friendly and cheerful people met us at the door and the waiters were also cheerful and knowledgeable about what they were offering. The food was excellent, tasty and well presented. Although it was early, the restaurant was busy and there was a buzz around the room, but not so noisy you couldn't have a conversation easily. Prices were reasonable for a City restaurant. The chocolate bomb was truly fantastic - I can't recommend it enough even if it must be at least a week's worth of calories.
It was our 2 year anniversary..from the minute we got there to the end it was absolutely amazing. The staff, food and ambiance were all perfect. Definitely going to be coming again. Thank you
A bit too noisy. Little selection for vegetarians
Lovely restaurant and absolutely what I have grown to expect from the Ivy group. Very good food, excellent service and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. It is so nice to feel that you are not being rushed and that they are there for you whatever you want, and however long you wish to linger.
A group of 5 of us chose The Ivy for a team catch up with an overseas member. It's a beautiful restaurant and evidently very popular, as the restaurant was absolutely heaving by 1pm. Everyone enjoyed their food, which included: fishcakes, steak, seabass, lamb shoulder. The service was not exceptional by any stretch friendly and polite but I don't recall being asked how our meal was after a few forkfuls as some members of our party would have asked for additional sauces or sides. The restaurant was also very very hot, to the point it was uncomfortable to sit in a blazer, so i would suggest keeping it a tad cooler given the heat from the fire the heat from the kitchen and the heat from the patrons. We also ordered coffees at the end, and there was cream on the hot chocolate which wasnt requested, and the double espresso was tepid at best, so much so that the sugar cube couldnt dissolve. I think if someone else is paying or it's an expense funded lunch then yes very good. But would I come here with my partner, or my friends for dinner? Probably not.
Fantastic setting, excellent service and couldn't fault the food either. Went for lunch and ended up staying for hours, great atmosphere, would recommend and will be back!
Fantastic evening celebrating my sister in laws 40th birthday. Staff so attentive, atmosphere just right, food delicious. Thank you. Will be back!.
The food was really good. The service and atmosphere were great. Will definitely visit again.
Food was tasty, but portions were way too small and certainly insufficient to fill you in. The service and atmosphere were all fine, but the food is too little.
Reliable food, friendly and attentive staff and great ambiance.
I have visited the restaurant numerous times, here in the city and it never fails to disappoint. From the second you enter the ladies that greet you are friendly and helpful as are the waiting staff.
The food is great and the portion sizes too. Starter, main and pudding with a fair few cocktails was around £70 pp.. I don’t mind paying that in the least because I feel you get what you pay for. My friend and I had a super start to our Friday night of food followed by ballet. Thank you!
As delightful as all the Ivy outposts. Discreet, attentive and 100% reliable service, great menu and drinks, great atmosphere. A new favourite.
We had a tasty meal with excellent service. The portion of Shepherd’s pie was a little small for my husband so that was the only slight negative. A little dessert with a candle was a nice touch for my husband for his birthday. We have been here a few times and it is always good with an interesting choice of food.
A lovely place for lunch, think upmarket Cote with better food and much better service...
Birthday breakfast. Ambience lovely. Waitress could have been a little bit friendlier but she was ‘ok’. You never know what kind of day they are having so I’m not going to be critical. Food was nice but we didn’t have anything extravagant, just the poached egg breakfast. There’s not too much you can say about poached eggs! Would definitely recommend it as an establishment though.
I went to the Ivy City Garden for a business breakfast, and while it was perfectly sufficient, it was not what you expect from a place like the Ivy. Firstly, despite the main restaurant room not being full, we were sat on a makeshift table in the outdoor seating area. While it was covered, because it is early January, it was absolutely freezing, and it felt like we were on the periphery of the restaurant. Secondly, the service was terrible. The staff were slow at taking orders, bringing the drinks & food and the bill. Worse, the waitress clearly did not know the menu at all. We had to repeat our orders several times because she didn't realise they were on the menu, and she did not speak or understand English very well either. One of our diners ordered gluten free toast due to being allergic to gluten, and yet when the waitress brought it over, she placed it in front of the two people who weren't gluten free (and had ordered regular bread). Before we realised the mistake, the non-gluten free diners had eaten half of the gluten free toast, meaning the person who could not eat gluten did not get her full amount. The other food was the sole bright spot of the meal. I would question going back to the Ivy City Garden for business meals, as there are plenty of restaurants in the City which have excellent service and food.
Lovely restaurant in city of London, service was great along with the cocktail, however I wish I could say the same for the food. This is my 3rd time there and unfortunatley the tempra prawns were a little soggy, along with courgette fries but the sherpherd's pie was really nice but nothing too outstanding. Didn't sample any of the desserts. Probably a busy evening of service.
Very nice restaurant, ambient, great setting. Classy place. The wait staff were attentive. I didn't like their homemade ginger beer far too lemony. The wait staff need to learn not to stretch over the guests when collecting items of the table. Other than that, the food was great and there was a lively atmosphere.
Food and service were very good which added to a nice time with some friends.
The Ivy were able to accommodate my booking last minute to add one extra person so thank you for that. Great food, great ambiance, definitely recommend.
Atmosphere crowded and buzzy. In my opinion the food was very ordinary, below average quality and therefore overpriced.
very friendly staff. We had a wonderful time, thank you!
A great place for a quick and efficient business lunch. Great food and service.
Great food, good service at a reasonable price. Perfect for a date or with small group of friends
A favourite haunt for my friends and I for lunch. Great ambience, good food and service.
Great food, no complaints..very lively atmosphere. Attentive staff. Lovely tables with fires in the wall by garden area, nice for special occasion. Not stuffy at all which the smaller venue can be.
Very good in the past but food this time let it down. Had the lobster linguine but lobster was over cooked, the food was cold and to top it I bit into lobster shell. At £29 I will not be having that particular dish again
Really great place for breakfast in the city - lovely menu, good service, excellent atmosphere and good pricing. Definitely recommend.
Lovely meal and delicious wine! Service was very good and overall good value!
Very disappointed after amazing experiences in other Ivy chain venues. Covent Garden and the Original Ivy were great, which is why we booked here. Initially i tried to increase our table booking from 4 to 6 a few days before, only to be told they were full which is fair enough, expect when we arrived we were seated between 2 empty and unused tables of 4.
The waiter did not seem to know the rules about 17 years old children being able to have a glass of wine with a meal if they were accompanied by adults. This was frustrating and did not help with the atmosphere.
The waiter managed to pour someone else's wine into my half full glass and then we we pointed this out he expected me to simply drink it down, so he could refill it with my wine, no new glass or replacement for the wine he ruined. Out table was booked for 10pm and at 11pm the waiter kitchen was closing and hurried us up to order deserts. For a top class establishment this service was awful. this was New Years Eve and it felt anything but celebratory. It felt we were a hindrance on the Staff's midnight Champagne. Will not go to again.
The Ivy was everything i thought it would be! classy, great service, amazing food and a great atmosphere. I would 100% recommend dining at The Ivy.
I was there with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Sadly it was far from the quiet place I rembered from my previous visits, admittadly that was during the day and not in the evening, but the place was literally like a football match for the noise and jostling. We couldn't really talk together very much, not without shouting at each other.
We ordered the Mozzarella starter, and the Tuna Starter - Kerching, that was £20 straight away. Then we ordered two different chicken dishes. Mine was Grilled Chicken with mashed potato and gravy that had bits of bacon in. I specifically asked for them to NOT leave the bacon in as I can't eat this due to a diet constraint. It arrived with the bacon in, neatly hidden under the mashed potato, which was under the chicken.
My wife had Chicken Milenase - sounds quite posh doesn't it?
It was a breaded chicken burger with a small jug of paste. And the chicken was way over cooked and rock hard. I was going to say something at this point, but the waiters/watressess seem to have dissapeared quickly after serving the food.
Kerching, that was another £35.
Desert was ok, bit of sponge and some cream
Kerching, that was another £20
Oh, and the two small glasses of wine to go with our meal, that was £13
So totalled up, including the inforced tip, it cost me the best part of £100 to eat something you could probably get from any Chicken Take at a fraction of the price.
Great evening. Great location with a comfortable atmosphere. Good food and wine. Lovely cocktails too.
The right place for a celebration
Mediocre food, but great ambience. Service was good but impersonal.
As usual The Ivy excels itself. The food, wine and ambience are second to none. The only issue I ever have with all Ivy restaurants is that the tables are a little small. Maybe this is because we order so many side dishes as they are so delicious!!
We spent our NYE-diner at Ivy City Garden and it was amazing. The service was perfect, everyone was so friendly and the athmosphere was great. The prices are okay, could be a tiny bit cheaper - but valuable.
This City gem never disappoints. Cool decor, efficient service and consistently good food, it really does cover all bases. One of my favourites!
Lovely and lively vibe, a varied menu with something for all tastes.
Great food good night would be coming again would recommend it to friends and family
