The service and food was pretty subpar for something that cost £100 for two people, generally you can find much better dining experiences for half the cost and much better food

Overall was a lovely lunch however, the sides didn't cone out until we were half way through our meal, almost like they were forgotten. We ate as we didn't want our lunch that was served to be cold. Service was pleasant albeit on the slow side.

There’s a balance between not rushing diners and making them wait too long for drinks and then food. Unfortunately this Ivy doesn’t get it right. There’s plenty of friendly staff but it’s hard to order anything and takes an age once you have. Our main course arrived 1.5 hours after sitting down. Food was good. Wine is outrageously over-priced.

The waitress was superb, attentive and on hand at all times despite service being busy. The food was excellent. The only downside was the noise levels in that I couldn’t hear my wife at the end of the table (for 3) because of the noise levels in the restaurant.

I did not appreciate the waitress serving us bottled water at the beginning without checking with us first. We had just sat down and were studying the menu, hence did not pay attention to the water being poured into our glasses. Nor did we ask for water, hence we thought it was complimentary. It was only after she asked if we’d like to order another still bottle, that we realised it is not complimentary or tap water. It was so presumptuous of her and arrogant of the restaurant if this practice is encouraged. Whilst I don’t mind paying for water, I would like to make a decision on whether to order and pay for it, or have tap water. Also, £5 for still water is daylight robbery.

Excellent service and a relaxed dining experience. We went as a family to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had mentioned this when I booked and this was acknowledged both by the greeting and a special (unprompted) dessert - a great surprise. Overall we were made to feel very welcomed, with attentive, but not intrusive, service.

As always the service at the Ivy is second to none, nothing appears to be too much trouble. Always made to feel special, not like just another client. We do not go to the Ivy frequently but always enjoy the experience.

Food tasty and well presented. Service was slow to begin with 35 mins to get our first drinks and 45 mins to take the food order but after we were appointed our waitress, she was very attentive.

I've eaten in the ivy for many years and overall it's always excepcional, unfortunately this time I'm I had the worst main course I've never eaten there. Avoid the monkfish and prawn curry would be my advice. It was a strange Italian fish rice dish with very little evidence of curry. It was most unpleasant. Everyone else is meals looked amazing. I came away feeling very disappointed. I have to say the cocktails I had were lovely.

Great building beautiful decor. Booked table for 4 over a month in advance but on arrival given a tiny table which only just seated us next to server station. sat unattended for 15 minutes before offered some water then 10 minutes later came to take our order we were not at any point offered welcome drinks. We did order some aperitifs when they eventually came over and also chose wine for the meal. The aperitifs however came served with the starters and not before the meal! Starters were ok the steak Tatare was really good, buffalo mozzarella was nice & creamy but quite salty and the calamari was extremely chewy. Wine was served and then taken away from the table to keep on ice for us - which is great providing your server notices when glasses are empty which they did not and we kept having to try and catch someones eye to come and refill the glasses. Mains again were pleasant but nothing outstanding the minute steak was very sinuey and veal sirloin had inedible layer of gristle but both tasted good. Best course was the Cheese! In all didn't have a bad evening but also nothing amazing and for the price it should have been much better we were charged 12.5% automatic service charge when the service was rather lacking. Will not be returning.

Waitress spilt drink all over my Grandmother who sat there with a soaking wet dress for the duration, no apology made formally by management, waited 10 minutes for a my drink, order medium rare steak delivered well done. After all of this offered a 10% discount on the steak (£3.50) absolutely shocking.

Informed on booking gluten free diners. Asked to confirm what items available were gluten free and ordered the halloumi main as recommended. It came out with it not gluten free. Other meal was not accommodated either. We were left on our own with no service and the waitress had some terrible training as she knew none of the menu or about allergies. The manager then blamed the new staff instead of taking on the issue. Very disappointed
