exceptional cocktails and bar staff, impressive room and great menu
My new favourite Bristol restaurant. Went early evening with two friends. A really beautiful restaurant and the service from the first greeting was outstanding - like being in a very classy real French Brasserie. The food was delicious and portions very generous. My only disappointment? I didn't have room for dessert!
My friends and I went there for dinner and it was amazing. The outside had the perfect background for mini photo shoot. Going in we were welcomed and had our coats taken off us before we sat down. We were given water to drink and our orders were taken down. The staff was very friendly and attentive to us through tour the night and only offered this recommendations only when we asked for it. Worth every penny.
Came for friends 60th birthday as a treat. Very disappointed with the service. Not once were we asked if we wanted more tea. We sat for nearly an hour with dirty plates in front of us it was like we like we were invisible. Very disappointed.
Had a very nice meal with good service. The chef even cooked a special dish for my friend which wasn’t on the brunch menu!
A warm welcome and a lovely touch giving us a tartlet for my Aunty’s 80th.. wish we had the afternoon tea..
The Ivy in Clifton was perfect - and a massive part of this was down to the staff. From being welcomed to walking out, every touch point with them was exemplary. I wish I had taken their names so .I could thank them personally here, they made us feel very welcome and looked after us immaculately.
Additionally, the food was amazing - simple dishes made to a high standard. We'll be going back.
Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. The food is super too.
The Ivy has a great atmosphere, first class service and excellent food. A very enjoyable experience and one we will repeat.
Lovely restaurant, food very good and presented well. Our waiter Pablo was exceptional and added to the whole experience.
All staff were very attentive and made it feel like a special experience. Will definitely be back again
We enjoyed a perfect breakfast experience, exactly what we were hoping for (after having visited the Ivy at Clifton for lunch and dinner, previously) with a Full English for one and Omelette and crispy bacon for t'other.
The staff were attentive, helpful and pleasant, with the surroundings both enjoyable and interesting!
Tried to fit too many people in in one evening meaning we felt slightly rushed, packed in and it was very noisy. Food was good and staff polite. Probably better not on a Friday!
Enjoyed food at this lovely restaurant. Service was impeccable and the food was absolutely fantastic. Worth every penny!
Rushed off our table so not very relaxing. Otherwise pretty standard for an Ivy.
Although the food was good we suffered with poor service, we ordered a drink when we arrived but then wanted a second with the meal, it took so long to get this drink we had finished our meal and then had to cancel the drink.. it's somewhere to go for a treat, my daughter had just passed her driving test and we felt it was an anti climax to what we were expecting.
I found them very amenable as we were late arriving and they were very accommodating the whole morning was very special as it was my birthday, my family found The Ivy staff very friendly.
Excellent all round. We had a wonderful time. Service was excellent, the food was beautiful. The only downfall is that wine is expensive
Everything was very good, only reason marked service down was that staff forgot to serve coke my daughter ordered, but wasn’t really an issue or we would have mentioned before bill arrived.
Restaurant was full when we arrived so quite noisy but quieter as people left after their early lunch
The friendly reception and service added to the excellent food. 49th wedding Anniversary Sotheby’s surprise tart as a gift was well received. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. Missed the baked Alaska though!
This was a celebratory lunch for 5 people. The food was very well presented and cooked and of course the location is grand as always. We spent 3 hours eating , chatting and drinking without feeling rushed in any way. The quality of service from all the staff was outstanding and is what encourages you to come back. It is formal but without pomposity, a quality that is often hard to achieve. Thank you .
Always great friendly service, best place innBristol to eat in my opinion
Birthday celebration, service was a little slow, but food was excellent
excellent service ,ambience and quality of food especially as they have a vegetarian and vegan menu also. Just one criticism with all the Ivy restaurants I have visited that they do not supply handcream in the ladies restrooms as it's the details that always stay with you on a treat day
The restaurant had a relaxed feel and made us all feel welcome and special. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We selected from the lunchtime menu which was extremely good value for money.
Wow! The Ivy in Clifton Village is absolutely superb.
Beautiful decor and a relaxed atmosphere. The food and service is exactly what you would expect, best in the business.
The head chef is working some magic with a menu that is truly inspiring. The Lobster & Samphire Risotto is unbelievably good!
If you appreciate fine dining at its best then The Ivy in Clifton is for you.
Afternoon tea is a ridiculous menu item
-Was this the cheapest super market TOAST bread IN THE WHOLE TESCO? Yes
-Was the salmon cut hours in advance and tasted dry and sad? Yes
-how did you get the inspiration for the cucumber and butter toast bread sandwich? Have you ever tasted what you serve? You should be ashamed of serving that to your own child.
-the doughnuts felt at least 1 day old
Maybe the location and service are worth the money. But THIS afternoon tea WAS NOT worth 50+ EUROS. Shame on you.
At least use higher quality bread. Any bakery does better.
I’m being honest, not arrogant, not snobby.
Anyone can do better
Fantastic experience, booked breakfast for partners birthday and was not disappointed.
They even brought out a cake with a candle without us telling them it was her birthday as must have overheard us.
Overall extremely satisfied
This was our first time in the Clifton Brasserie, having been in many others across the country this experience was outstanding, from the greeting, till our departure the staff were attentive and friendly. The level of service and quality of food was on a par with with the West Street restaurant.
Nice evening, marred by one of our main courses arriving later than the others because of an error. The dish, when it arrived, was spoiled by an overcooked poached egg. No apology was offered.
Lovely venue. Attentive service. Great food. Reasonably priced for the experience. Thoroughly recommend for a special occasion.
It was a birthday/ retirement treat. Very disappointed in the taste of the savouries, no seasoning in evidence, very bland.
Also unhappy that service charged was added on afterwards.
Certainly not recommending, which is such a shame as so looking forward to it.
Great- lovely staff good food and wine
Really wonderful meal, great service and fantastic food.
Waited a very long time to be served and steak was over cooked ! Not asked if it was ok so not sent back!!
We took some friends to celebrate their birthdays & we weren’t disappointed :)
All the food was amazing, very impressed to have so many different vegetarian options! The service was just right, attentive but not intrusive. (Only negative was that my friend had to wait longer than necessary for the rice to go with her curry)
Highly recommend this restaurant.
It was quite busy when we visited and the staff were inattentive. We had to wait along time to order our drinks and food. It was difficult to get the attention of the waiter as he was busy chatting with other members of staff. The tables next to ours took a long time to be cleared. It was quite off pointing seeing dirty plates etc. However the food was outstanding.
Nice place, good food. Drinks are very expensive in comparison to the price of the food. Social and relaxed atmosphere, can be quite noisy depending on where you are sitting. Can be tricky parking in the area the nearest car park is nearly a mile away and a lot of the street parking is permit holders only so allow plenty of time.
The venue is stunning.......unfortunately my eggs Benedict arrived and the eggs were cold which meant I didn’t eat at the same time as my partner. It was my birthday and a special occasion which unfortunately wasn’t a great experience. The waiter did apologies and (hot) eggs were made but this was disappointing.
The ambience is really lovely. Linen clothes and beautiful flowers and polite service. Really enjoyed breakfast and sitting near the courtyard garden despite awful weather was lovely. Overall lovely start to the day
