milk / mint / white
Hand chopped beef striploin with Tabasco dressing, cornichon, shallot, parsley, egg yolk and toasted granary
Melting chocolate bombe with milk foam, vanilla ice cream and honeycomb centre with hot salted caramel sauce
Overall, a great experience. Food excellent. The service was a bit slower than it should have been (we waited quite a long time for our main courses), but our main gripe was lack of social distancing or any visible effort to show that staff were aware that there is still a pandemic going on. Only one member of staff wearing a mask. We know it's not mandatory but we also know that people are still getting sick - and dying – and I think a good restaurant should demonstrate a willingness to keep everyone safe.
One of the worst if not the worst experience I had in a long time
I have been to IVY London, bath and Manchester this one by far is the worst in literally everything
I spent 186 pounds which normal I would happily spend however in thus case I feel am owed an apology
It started by wedging me and my boyfriend in middle of two other tables I literally could hear the other guests conversation and am sure they could too as we were shouting on top of our lungs as the noise level was crazy. I understand you want to maximise profit but this was ruining the Ambience you falsely advertise as your strong point . Then as if seating is not enough the waitress broke the Tobesco bottle next to us and my poor boyfriend white shirt and jacket was covered in Tobesco .the sad thing I cam see the manager looking not even bother to come and apologise or at least offer a sn apology drink or to dry clean the clothes. The guests next to us kept saying they feel sorry for us .no one offered to change table nothing .we sat in the stank of the tobesco and ordered 40 pounds bottle of wine which came in the wrong temperature more like vinegar not wine.....as far for the food mediocre don't even cover it .the duck salad was disgusting the fact you charge 30 pounds steak with no sides and for a sauce 2.50 is equally
disgusting ....the waiters starting to clear up the tables when i am still finishing the food in a sign for the rest of guests to leave I all horrible horrible
Would give zero if I can
And totally not worth the money
This is the 5th time I've been for a meal at The Ivy, each time going with an open mind and hoping the service will be better, but unfortunately that's never the case. This latest visit the timings were all off - mains served 2 minutes after starters, after a long wait for drinks. Once the main was finished, we ordered another drink and dessert - the dessert turned up in about 2 minutes, drinks after about 20 minutes which very much defeated the point. No one asked how the food was, or how the experience was even when paying the bill. The overall sense is you're on a conveyer belt of customers and they can't wait to churn out the food and give your table to the next customers. The food is good in itself, but for the price you pay the overall experience is sorely disappointing compared to other establishments you can go to in the area and pay the same, or less, for a much more enjoyable experience.
Felt bit uncomfortable that no one wearing face masks given current increase in COVID. Sirloin & bearnaise very good but disappointed with scallops starter. My sister enjoyed her meal.
Staff very attentive. My daughter enjoyed her 18th birthday treat.
Put on a table next to the bar, staff congregated here for conversation & collecting orders.. very disturbing & invasive. Venue Knew it was a birthday celebration, but nothing in kind gest was done.. disappointing. Food was nice, hot & presented well. Differcult area to park. Wouldnt return.
Excellent food, service and ambience. And a particular appreciation for the surprise profiteroles that appeared as a token for our anniversary. Will definitely recommend and return.
Great place to eat for those special occasions, food was excellent and so was the service.
Lovely place lovely feelfood perfect starf lovely
The Ivy has found an upmarket feel whist delivering acceptable food
Fabulous evening for a celebration meal. Waiter was very attentive. Food was amazing. Beautiful decor, especially the toilets. Really good value for money.
Very nice meal in a wonderful setting. Excellent service.
Was exactly as I would expect, everything was super
My first visit to The Ivy! Food and service was perfect.
Lovey ambiance.. staff great .. tables were too close to the next table minimal privacy the result .. also we had afternoon tea.. the presentation of which was 1st class however the sandwiches had too much bread and not a lot of filling in them.. on balance for a special occasion I would just about recommend it !
The food was great but:
When booking we specify said we were there for afternoon tea. We were then taken to our table and had to wait over half an hour for our order to be taken (which we’d already asked for at the booking process) and a further 15 mins for drinks to arrive and 30 mins for food to arrive. This wait time for me is ridiculous anyway, but more so when we informed the restaurant we were there for afternoon tea before we had even arrived!
21st Birthday celebration, fantastic food, great buzzing atmosphere and superb service as usual
Service was surprisingly poor on this occasion after previous visits were amazing
Waitress was less than knowledgable about the menu and allergens and seemed put out when questioned
Dairy was served when non dairy was specified
Overall really dissatisfied
The service staff really don’t have the luxury of giving bad service at the ivy and yet our waitress seemed unbothered and almost nonchalant about it
If I wanted poor service I’d have gone elsewhere
Beautiful setting, lovely food and excellent staff
Lovely place to get your breakfast , nice setting friendly staff, great food
Just a little over priced for what was otherwise a nice dining experience.
Lovely place to eat: vibrant in beautiful location
Sorry, but the food (butternut squash, potato rosti mushrooms and aubergine fries) were incredibly bland. Literally no flavour in the butternut squash dish.
I booked for my parents and I to have high tea, which was inventive and very tasty. However, I did feel the ambiance was a little loud and we were seated close to other parties which made the experience a little less special. People had their coats and shopping on the bench seating along with throw pillows and so it was a little disorganized for such a classy location. I also felt that the service, although everyone was nice, was a little disjointed as we had a different person take our order, bring our tea, bring our food, and bring the cheque.
The Ivy in Clifton is my favourite place for cocktails and food; however, on this occasion I was severely unimpressed. The server who took the orders was immediately confused; tried to tell us about an order we didn’t place and when she was corrected, ignored us and carried on until we had to correct her again. She also asked if we would like water three times and never brought it when we said yes, and when she was called out on it was rude, spilled it over our table and never cleaned it up. She also was over friendly and kept touching my arm, which was a) not recommended in these times and b) non-consensual. All in all, she was terrible and really spoilt the experience. My food was burnt and not to the standard I expect at all, which again did nothing for my experience with you. The menus provided were dirty and finally, the request for the meal being a special occasion as my guest had recently got engaged was ignored completely. I am so unbelievably disappointed that I would question returning at another time.
Good quality and excellent service.
Have been several times now and always have a great experience. Amazing service, great food.
Very busy but still felt like a lovely atmosphere
Food and drink was lovely, would recommend highly.
John our waiter was very very good and very cool :) no duck curry though
Very good food together with good service and wine .
A winning combination
I booked a table for 4 for my mother’s birthday and we enjoyed it very much. I’d recommend getting a taxi there (even if you drive and park a couple miles away) as parking is very difficult, even with a blue badge. There’s just no space nearby.
Lovely treat , would definitely recommend.
First class service.
Fantastic brunch, excellent service. We will be back soon !
Amazing, quality food, fantastic calm atmosphere. Can not wait to return
Service was not up to scratch.hot drinks arriving not hot blaming the coffee machine looked like a staff training day to me.
My wife and I are regulars at the Covent Garden Ivy and Bath Ivy and this was our first visit here with friends. Impressive surroundings and nice ambience, but definitely a notch down on food quality and service compared to Covent Garden. Overall a nice restaurant and it would be over fussy of me to list the faults we did find. We've had better dining experiences elsewhere in Bristol, but would recommend this Ivy to friends.
We both that it was excellent. The food was well presented and delicious and very good value for the high standard that was offered. The surroundings were lovely and the staff welcoming and professional. We will certainly return.....
Met a friend for lunch who I had not seen since lockdown. We both love The Ivy so it was no contest when choosing where to go!
Everything great as usual
Beautiful restaurant, excellent food and very good service.
