The table allocated was not a table window as requested but the hostess quickly changed that. The service bu a new trainee, Emily (?) was excellent going above and beyond. The main course ordered by my partner from the festive menu, a turkey shepherds pie, was undewhelming, basically mash potato with a sprinkling of meat and sent back, replaced by chicken milanese which was adequate. Mind, egg Benedicte was good. It was ly birthday so I was given a small birthday cake which was a lovely gesture. The ambience was good

Bit rushed the main arrived approximately 45 seconds after they cleared starter. Starters were lovely mains OK Perhaps jaded by only kust finishing starter . Lovely decor and friendly staff

We had a nice table in the conservatory. I started with the crispy duck which was absolutely delicious. I was not a fan of the goose and turkey shepherd's pie, frankly it could have been beef mince, and unfortunately the chef does not know how to cook sprouts, which were soggy and unpleasant. The desserts were very good. The waiting staff were very friendly and professional. It was my husband's birthday and we enjoyed our visit to The Ivy.

Arrived early for our 8.30pm booking for 4. Sat at the bar for a cocktail, lovely, helpful professional barmen. Sat at our table at 8.30, obviously a busy night. Ordered nibbles with our drinks, the wine arrived within 10 mins, 35 mins later our starters arrived prior to the sharing nibbles. We asked for the nibbles first and to wait a bit for the starters..so we could enjoy the nibbles (all delicious) nothing else arrived until 9.55.. then .. the food was good and hot, fillet steak not well cooked but not terrible but the majorly disorganised staff all over the place made it a disappointment. The bill was rushed onto the table whilst we were stood over as we worked out who owed what… not as special an evening as we had hoped or expected. An expensive night, meant to be a treat for Christmas..I eat regularly at Ivy restaurants but this one falls behind in my opinion.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Great menu choices and some very good seasonal additions. It was busy but this didn't affect the service. It was chilly but they did turn up the heating. Will happily return.

We have visited various Ivy locations and have never been disappointed until yesterday. The service was very poor! The drinks service was slow and we waited an hour before we received any food. Additional drinks were even slower and had to be prompted before they arrived. It was my mother’s 97th birthday and it was quite frankly embarrassing.

The Ivy always seems to be buzzing, busy. So plenty of atmosphere. Good to see some Christmas specials on the menu. We had the turbot....well cooked a nice dish but cut at the thin end of the fish so not much meat on the bone. Not really good value at around £40 including one dish of vegetables. I think I'll stick with the staples next time.

The restaurant was very busy due to the time of year I expect, but the food was low beyond not normal we usually have. The duck salad was tasty but the crispy duck was not crispy but just chewy and the baby turbot was not seasoned at all and tasted of nothing the brown shrimp that went with it were frozen and tasteless,worst meal I have ever had there very disappointing

As always, The Ivy was very good, but I cannot give it 5 stars for a variety of reasons: 1. The table was too small for 2 people to eat comfortably and still have room for teapots, toast, glasses of water etc. 2. The plates you use are awkward as they are more like a dish and the food on the outside slides into the middle. 3. Your teapots are the wrong size for breakfast for 2 people. They hold enough for 3 cups which is awkward for 2 people sharing a pot. Your pots should be a size to hold an even number of cupfuls. 4. My food would have been marked as excellent but my poached eggs were cold. 5. The service would have been marked as excellent and was arguably faultless but I've marked it down as our waitress forgot to bring butter with our toast. You may think these are all small points (and they are) but if all had been rectified you would have had a 5 star rating in every category

The Ivy restaurant s are fun places to eat. Quirky, OTT decor so a destination venue for celebratory dinners. The menus display a range of excellent and varying dishes and the staff are lovely (attentive, very helpful, efficient and friendly) but the food is quite disappointing and not well cooked . My twice cooked soufflé was not very light and my mussels & sea bass over cooked; while the duck salad was a little mean on the duck content. The truffle burger was rich as expected and nice though slightly over cooked. We all felt the dinner was expensive and not the quality we’d expect at these prices I’m afraid

Very disappointing evening at the Ivy Cobham, service was very slow, main course was served when starters had not been cleared away - dessert took forever, and as we were paying the bill a birthday dessert arrived for my daughter. Not great.

Food was great but not you do not have enough staff working. The restaurant was maybe 25% full and it took half an hour to take our order and 45 minutes for the food to arrive

I love the ivy and been there so many times. However - this was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. The service was appalling - rude - and verging on intentionally obstructive. Not offered drinks, when we asked to order them it was a raised eye brow and a huff, not given menus, when I asked for a dessert menu the waitress threw her hands in the air as though I had asked for something unreasonable, food arrived at different times, wine refused to be to decanted, no one cleared any plates from table so had to do it myself, it was terrible - it was actually embarrassing as I was hosting friends and had told them how good it was. I then refused to pay the service (which I have never done) and was virtually ushered out. Made to feel genuinely unwelcome. awful experience.

I was very disappointed in the whole experience. It has been a while since I visited and was really surprised at the decline in the quality of service and food. It was hard to get the waitresses attention because they were just chatting amongst themselves. The food and service was slow, we had chicken milanese which was dry and overcooked. We were only asked if it was ok when clearing the table. We had a pot of tea for 2 this used to come with a jug of hot water as well for top up, but there wasnt any provided and there was just barely enough for 2 cups. Actually better at Cote
