Lovely brunch, great table and nice atmosphere
Celebrating daughter’s excellent Junior Cert results
Such a great experience. Excellent service. Food came on tome and was amazing. Venue a bit loud but was manageable.
Not enough variety on beers. Service very slow and not value for money. Fillet steak with some garnish... looked poor and not filling. Wouldn’t go back because of the above.
Enjoyable experience as usual!
Generally poor service. A table booked for 19.30 several days in advance, was not available until 19.55. We were shown to bar to wait but service there was virtually non-existent despite being well staffed.
Delays between courses of meal were lengthy and request for the wine list also met with a long delay.
Food wasn’t great, crab linguine very dry , not pleasant to eat. Tempura prawn and calamari bit hot and greasy ++. The excellent waiter made the evening pleasant
Service very slow & table not ready till half 7 booking was made for 7. Also miss the orzo pasta from the menu.
Overpriced mediocre food. Disruptive service, not appreciating the fact we were trying to have a private conversation. Extremely rude and crass when it came to paying the bill, looking for a tip, we were all shocked and never going back there again.
The food was fab . The service was great and the decor was beautiful. Lovely for our special night out
The restaurant itself was amazing, the decor and the vibe was lovely. Service when we arrived and ordering our food was quick and waitress was lovely, although we ordered the chicken Milanese and the ivy burger with no cheese as my husband really dislikes cheese. We didn’t wait long for our drinks or food to arrive but when it did there was cheese on the burger. It may seem very trivial but for someone who really dislikes cheese it’s a big deal. To be fair we didn’t complain because we couldn’t be bothered waiting for another meal to be prepared and arrive so he did just scrape the cheese off but it did kind of ruin the meal. Then when we had ate, we waited ages for somebody to take our plates away and to bring us the bill. Overall it’s a nice restaurant, my food was nice and I would go again and hopefully we won’t have any mistakes with the order next time.
Food and drinks were amazing at the Ivy on Tuesday night and the ambiance was just perfect. Our waiter was really helpful and friendly. However, the lady at reception was the complete opposite. I would be reluctant to return because of her rude manner alone. All of my party found her very rude and unhelpful and that definetly put a dampner on our over all experience.
The manager was extremely rude! We were there less than 2 hours and we were told to leave, as they needed the table. At this stage we were only handed the desert menus! The restaurant was also half empty! We were not finished our meal! It was crazy how he handed us the bill and basically told us to get out - he said you can go to the bar, but didn’t offer to bring our drinks over or anything!! Not the service you expect, especially from a manager who should be setting a good example to his staff. You don’t talk to customers or handle a situation like that if you need the table. You should have manners and politely ask and explain the situation - not shove the bill in your face and say move to the bar if you want. Very disappointed with his attitude, service and mannerism. We were actually shocked to be honest!
we had a problem with a fish main course but it was dealt with in a proper way , thank you
Late lunch and left at the table for 5 hours...perfect for catching up!
Went for our anniversary. I took the 10pm booking as my wife always wanted to go to the Ivy. Got there for 10pm, we were told there would be a 20 minute wait, it took 35 minutes. We got to eat our starters at 11pm! We ordered an Italian wine, it wasn’t available, chose something else. I ordered lamb for my main course but it came in a bowl, I couldn’t see the carrots, must have been no plates washed, seemed an odd presentation. Anyways, its a nice room, nice lighting, nice atmosphere but it didn’t quite live up to expectation. Don’t think I’ll rush back for my next anniversary.
I had a reservation for 9.45pm for 4 people, we arrived on time to be told our table was not ready. We had to wait until 10.40 to be seated. We did not bother with starters. I ordered a fillet steak, medium to well done , and it came out medium rare, but as it was not 11.40 eating a steak I just couldn't be bothered dealing with the rude staff any more. We left utterly disappointed after a mediocre meal.
The only benefit of having dined in the Ivy last Saturday night is that I know I will never be asked to go there ever again.
It was dirty, disorganised, and dysfunctional to the very end even the bill could not be paid with ease. There were five of us. We had to order the drinks five times to get a drink for everyone......one drink at at a time.
The plates appeared clean but actually had small almost clean remains of old food embedded on them evident when I ran my finger over mine. But the hair my son discovered when he chewed into in his bread bun was so bad. I tried to laugh it off saying he could floss his teeth with the hair.
What an awful venue to celebrate a birthday. I hoped to earn some brownie points with the family for treating them to go to the Ivy......... instead one of them was sitting on the loo for most of the latter part of next day. It was a complete waste of money. Thanks for nothing.
The Ivy in Dublin is an embarrassment and insult to the Ivy in London. No comparison at all.
Food was fab, lovely night the down side was we were waiting 1 hour & 20min for our table! I would still go back.
Awful experience. Was late to be seated which was no problem but then my partners main wasn't ordered. This was realised after my main was brought out which they subsequently took back. Following receiving the bill we realised we were over charged. This was corrected and paid. Mentioned to a member of staff which I thought was a manager that if service charge was automatically being added the service needed to a lot better. This was obviously said to our waiter who subsequently stopped me on the way out to state "why didn't you tell me". Found this to typify the service. I will not be back and will be recommended all to avoid.
Felt it was overpriced. Few customers will order a steak without anything so charging €3.95 for sauce & another €4.50 for chips in top of €27 for a plain sirloin is excessive. Some nice food but not great value for me.
I have been to The Ivy for brunch and lunch - good experience and no issues. Dinner is a different matter.
The way we were treated when they required us to vacate the table was just awful. It’s a strict 2 hour turnaround. We weren’t actually aware of that. Apparently it’s made very clear. They were awful about it. Ruined what had been quite a pleasant experience apart from one main course which was dreadful (sole goujons).
It all feels like a production line. A machine.
We removed the “discretionary” 12.5% service charge which had been added to the bill
We were given the bill without requesting it - we then asked if you needed the table back and the manager said yes. We weren’t aware that there was a time limit on the table. Maybe this should be included in the booking confirmation email or phone call so customers are aware when booking. Food was lovely so overall enjoyable experience
Delicious food - great ambiance - excellent service
The service was terrible. We had to ask three times to get our first drinks order complete and then had to ask two or three times for the bread we ordered. We were rushed out the door after booking a table in the summer for a special event and were not told before hand that we only had so much time to eat and get out. The floor managers need to be sent on training as they were so rude and would not encourage a second visit. I have to say I was very disappointed and expected more. Everyone left disappointed.
Hi. We really enjoyed our meal on Saturday afternoon. However the restaurant was a bit on the cool side. Everything else was perfect.
This was my 3rd visit to the IVY - I was very happy with my previous visits but disappointed this time - I ordered sirloin steak and had to send it back as it was extremely tough - I changed it for ribeye which was delicious - On two occasions the gents toilets ran out of hand towels - I mentioned it to the bar staff. - looks like standards might be slipping ....
Very enjoyable experience
Would definitely go again
It was a magical occasion, special thanks to the incredible Longford-Polish maitre-d who was a joy and a perfect generous host!
Made a reservation here for a group of 5 people for a business dinner on a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. Feedback from all members of the group was that the food was very good but the service was "appalling". Group were left sitting for 20 minutes before they were given menus, another 20-25 mins before their order was finally taken and then each course took an inordinately long time to come to the table. Overall opinion was that restaurant is beautiful, food is delicious but the service is far from satisfactory and definitely NOT up to standard. Lack of staff on the night was not an issue as there were lots of floor staff milling around but they were not attentive in any way. This is just not good enough!
This is a lovely restaurant, very nice decor. Service was very good, lovely waitresses. The food though....very overpriced. It was nice but definitely not worth the money. Desserts were amazing - the best part of the meal! And the tip was included on the bill, it didn’t stand out so keep an eye out for it!
The food was wonderful, the décor is amazing and the service was superb
Would highly recommend The Ivy to friends family. Had booking for 3pm lovely atmosphere, delicious food & friendly staff. Look forward to trying it one evening. Regards Celine
We went to The Ivy to celebrate our friends’ professional awards. It was a very special night for us all and we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice to celebrate at the Ivy. With 8 people in our party we managed to try a large variety of items on the menu and were blown away by everything. The food was absolutely incredible! I think the chocolate bombed for desert was the best thing I have ever eaten.
Additionally the wine and cocktail menus were expansive and of high quality.
The service at the Ivy was also very impressive. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating and did everything they could to make our experience enjoyable.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who asked, and I will definitely be back myself.
It was quite confusing because I booked online, called to confirm this booking and they did. My friend arrived earlier, I called and said i was late, and they couldn´t find my booking but he was sitting by my table in my name. They said it could be the wrong IVY but then I found him.
Great food though and all the waitresses were great as well.
Staff very disinterested
Service very slow as we were on lunch it took 45 minutes to serve and that ate into our 1 hour lunch break
Food just ok place lovely
Absolutely adore the tempura prawns I had the fish and chips which was delicious My daughter had the burger but it was very salty and she found it hard to eat My husband had steak which was lovely I thought the service was a little slow but not a big problem as we weren’t in a hurry Lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio
Given the lavishness of the décor, we were somewhat taken aback by how everything else compared, rather unfavourably, to it. Yes, the food, in line with the décor, was wonderfully presented. In terms of culinary prowess, it was....correct. Not mind-blowing. Correct. The first table we were placed in was unsatisfactory, but we spent quite some time trying to catch the staff's attention so we could be moved elsewhere. It was our anniversary, and the restaurant normally offers the couple a small treat with a candle to celebrate the special occasion. Unfortunately, we were not granted this sweet gesture. Service at the Ivy is sloppy, and they have the balls to charge you for it!
Great service and steak was cooked perfectly. Will
Great food & service
