Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.
The food quantity is so small and most definitely not value for money. The chips were hard and obviously recooked. They were tasteless. The shepherds pie was a small, round tasteless dish and offered me 4 mouthfuls from a large plate. Disgraceful.
Two of us ate here and we had to order three starters, two mains and 5 side dishes. We were still hungry that an hour later we had to have pizza.
The fact that they add service charge to your bill is a disgrace. This is not the US nor London. The restaurant used to have snob appeal in London but certainly should not here in Ireland. I can only assume this is why people go here which is ridiculous as it certainly ain’t for the food or the value.

Probably fourth or fifth visit and very pleasantly surprised as the quality was faultless - possible a new chef? Many people (I think) select this place for its interior/ambience/locality and hope for the best around the food offering but we couldn't have enjoyed our meals more. The prawn tempura and prawn cocktail & the duck salad all had lovely extra tastes outside of the expected. The partridge went down very well with particular enjoyment around the gravy offering! If I have one bugbear- it applies to most 'down town' venues - the price of cocktails, heading close to and further away from €12 is getting cheeky.

Food always amazing and service is great, just the 20 euro service charge for 2 people wasnt good and I refused to pay it ,I think taking staff tips and charging 2 people 20 euro service charge is a rip off

The Ivy is a beautiful restaurant and the service was fairly good. However the food was really ordinary - I wouldn't say it was worth the money. I had their signature burger with cheese and it was dry and very plain. I'd suggest going here for a drink instead of food.

Myself and my friend had a lovely meal here at The Ivy. The food was delicious, the waiter was extremely patient and friendly. We were there to celebrate my birthday and a lovely couple sat next to us bought us both a glass of Prosecco to celebrage. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Lovely restaurant friendly staff, Not much of a selection if you are looking to drink draft Beer.
But over all it was nice a bit over priced .

When making my online booking, my intention was to book Afternoon Tea for myself and my friend. There was no option to select this, so I concluded that the booking was made for two and we could specify on arrival that we wished to order Afternoon Tea.

We were told on arrival that I should have specified my request at the time of booking and that because the Afternoon Tea supplies are actually bought in and not prepared in -house, we could not be accommodated unless there was a cancellation.

We settled on having a late lunch, which we enjoyed very much. Service, price, value and our overall experience was very good.

The next day, I did test your bookings process to see how and where I went wrong in not clarifying that I wanted to book Afternoon Tea. Again, there is no obvious selection process, and I assume the system defaults to a table being booked for a meal.

While it was a very enjoyable afternoon, it was disappointing that we had to forgo our intended treat. The Afternoon Tea selection looked delicious, and the guests to our immediate left seemed to enjoy theirs.

Food was fantastic , a little on the expensive side , would not come back because of this reason , it’s something you would try once. Unaffordable to a returning costumer.

I thought the front of house was very impersonal. Not as much as an hello or good evening from the staff at reception and we were led to our table without a word spoken to us. Not a very good first impression

Went early and had a couple of drinks at the bar. Very friendly and helpful barmen saw to our every need.
We got a lovely seat in the corner quite randomly I think which was great as a lot of the tables , as in many restaurants these days , seemed very close together. Our starter of prawn tempura was wonderful while my monkfish and prawn curry was exceptional. My wife had the chicken Milanese which was also delicious. The service and ambiance was wonderful . I hope to return soon as we had an exceptional evening.

We had a really enjoyable evening. Despite the fact that we had an early sitting due to lack of availability later (5.15pm), there was still a super lively atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Lovely experience in The Ivy for lunch.

My only issue was the wine list pricing, quiet expensive , no a great selection under the €40 mark

We had a really lovely table for three beside the window. Food was excellent but one of my friends found the sole a little dry.
I know The Ivy has had negative publicity about its tipping system. The tips do not go directly to staff.
We find this policy unfair and would like you to review it.

First time trying the Ivy. Food was delicious but the steak is massively overpriced. Nonsensical to ask people to pay extra for a sauce and sides. One price please. Also felt quite rushed out. Was told several times that we had the table for 2 hours. Will happily spend my money in another restaurant where my business is appreciated.

Food was very good. Service was pleasant However I had to complain about the air conditioning as we spent the duration of the meal with scarfs wrapped around us which was most uncomfortable. The waitress said she would mention it to the manager and proceeded to present me with bill immediately. I then asked to speak to the manager myself who was very responsive and offered a drink and also removed the 2 desserts from the bill. I was happy with this and will return again but to a more comfortable table hopefully. Well done on responding to patrons when issues arise this is commendable and really makes a difference.

A great place. Lived up to expectations. Great ambiance and super waiting staff.
Major downer is the fact they put a service tax on that the staff DO NOT get. It’s kept by the house. Ask your server to remove the service tax( they do with great ease) and pass the tip in cash to server.
I just found this greedy and am surprised that the servers remain so keen and attentive considering they are being cheated by the house.

This meal was supposed to be an lovely romantic meal to end a really good day. Sadly we were both so disappointed. The food was poorly presented and cooked. My partners starter was nothing like the waiter described and he couldn’t eat it. His lamb maim should have been medium rare but was more rare/blue and my fish had so much grease and batter it made me sick. We asked for the bill and explained the situation. The starter was removed from our bill but we were outraged a service charge was still applied.

I’ve eaten in the ivy in various locations in and around London and they have always been fantastic in service and food quality. This site is not. The waiters seem scared to take the food back to the chief which made us feel more uncomfortable. I will never go back.
