The Ivy Dining Counter
Lovely informal way to enjoy The Ivy experience. Really did enjoy ourselves
It was pouring rain, my husband and I were wearing soaking raincoats and dripping hats. The doormen and front desk staff greeted us as if we were elegantly attired and alighted from a limo. We were seated at the elegant bar and were professionally served a delicious meal at what we consider to be a very reasonable price. A lovely experience.
Am pleased to have been introduced to The Ivy. Food great and service + ambiance. Cosy. Think counter service only works well when two people.
Excellent service and fantastic food as always. Would highly recommend.
The Ivy is always a great place to have dinner! I love it
Attentive staff, excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. It was also good to go to somewhere like this and be able to eat/drink at a relaxed pace and not to feel ‘rushed’ in any way. Would highly recommend a visit to the Ivy.
We sat at the bar as per the Dining Table booking, staff were friendly but not over bearing. Very relaxed atmosphere, great food and nice to be sat amongst things at the bar. Exceeded our expectations!
We spent a week in London and this was by far our favorite dinning experience. You must sit at the bar to take it all in.
Special night out for son celebrating his qualification
The waiter was rude and he got our order wrong
Thanks again for a New visit at The Ivy - mat be the 10th during last 20 years - this time in combination with Our 48- years of marriage upon we receive very staisfying attention from the staff!
We will certainly come back to you.

Superbly renovated since my last visit 20 yrs ago, this is unpretentious 5 star dining at its best. Lighting, service, menu and wine list, all combining to produce the perfect ambiance.
Accidentally booked the dining counter and was worried I wouldn’t like it as much as a table for two but absolutely loved it and would definitely eat like that again! Gorgeous setting, great food and really lovely staff. Fantastic 1st anniversary dinner <3
Open table you were the cause of this disaster of an evening The Ivy said they didn't have my booking and sat us at the bar ☹️ the front of house was very poor. This was for my wife's birthday, this was very poor unlike the Ivy Manchester
Took my partner there for her birthday and it was fantastic - quick and attentive service, great menu, fine food and a lively atmosphere but still chilled enough to be able to speak and hear. Decor and ambience was fantastic and the quality of the cuisine was top class
Good quick and high quality.
Little dated in the healthier options on the menu,
Overall a good experience overall...
Exemplary service and dining.
The place lives up to it’s wonderful tradition and chef Gary lee and his team work the magical menu.
I recommend this to anyone who loves to indulge in good food and hospitality.
Great! Beautiful Bar and restaurant! Great service at the bar dining!
I mean , it’s ok? Fancy people, fancy menu, fancy prices. Good if you don’t want to research any other place. Close to the theatres but there are plenty of options. Nasty dirty street and rough looking street. Don’t need to go again. Try once and see :)
What an absolute pleasure to return to such a legendary atmosphere, The Ivy, and enjoy an exquisitely delicious meal, so impeccably prepared and so attentively served!! The chorizo salad, the veal with foie gras, and the steak were delicious, as were the wine and the cheesecake for dessert!! Soar High, Fly Far, See Deeply!!
An exquisite dining experience. The ivy is both posh and charming. Impeccable service only to be outshone by the cuisine . We will most definitely return on each trip to London. Cheers.
From the moment we arrived the service, food, attention to detail, excellence of the highest standard
We actually started at the dining counter for drinks and nuts which was lovely and I would recommend this if there are two of you- however as there were three we moved on to a table to eat.
I had the burger with Welsh rarebit which was tasty but not as great as it should have been for the price and the chips/fries were like cardboard!
The service was mixed- a couple of the staff were great but then a couple weren’t- they didn’t smile, forgot to bring us a couple of things so we had to ask twice. This I don’t usually mind but when you are paying these prices you expect impeccable service.
There is also a cover charge automatically added to the bill! When I asked what it was for he said to cover bread, tablecloth etc. Now I don’t mind paying for bread and butter but not when it is brought to you automatically without asking for it! Also we didn’t spill anything on the table cloth but our waiter did!
Altogether pretty disappointing when we were expecting a really upmarket experience.
Excellent pre-theater dining spot
Absolutely amazing. Staff are very very friendly and approachable and my request for a quiet table was fulfilled. Would definitely book again in the near future.
Booked 2 months in advance to ensure a timed slot because we wanted to dine at The Ivy in between performances of the Harry Potter play nearby. As a late birthday present for a special friend, the dinner was fantastic and we were delighted to sample the vegetarian menu. Excellent food and the ambience was terrific. The Ivy staff are fantastic, discreet and attentive. 5 out of 5 stars!
As ever another amazing meal here. You can not fault the food, service or ambience.
Great option for a pre/post theatre evening dinning! Counter is a great alternative to the usual table sitting
Great meal superb value and absolutely delicious. Always wanted to go to the Ivy yet never managed to be there at the right time. This trip was planned to coincide with a play so timing was perfect
Counter dining was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. Felt very comfortable and well looked after. Food was amazing. If after a quick but fancy lunch, a definite must! Beautifully presented food.
We visited for my 60 th birthday Everyone was very welcoming the food was delightful it’s was a nicely place to enjoy my special day
Bar seat which was lovely. Excellent experience, would recommend.
This restaurant is totally overrated. The food - a price-fixé choice - was tepid, insipid, poorly presented, and grossly overpriced for the meager quantity served. The ambiance was fair but the the dining counter was severely compromised by the proximity to the servers who went about their work with a remoteness and an uninvolved busyness that was off-putting. In contrast, the Kensington Ivy
We enjoyed everything about our experience. The service was excellent. The food was delicious and met our expectations from the waitperson’s description and recommendations. We could hear each other so the noise level suited us.
Lovely & elegant as always
The Bang Bang chicken starter is utterly delicious, and you can't beat this Ivy's Art Deco feel. We were given a really good table and the service was attentive throughout, but I couldn't help but see the waitress's disappointment when we told her we wouldn't be drinking. Still, a good meal overall.
Considering the history, the quality of the food, and the location, this place is a bargain. The portions are reasonable, and served swiftly.
The bar staff know their drinks, and I have a very pleasant chat about whiskey with a magnificently moustached Swedish fellow. All in all it was a great evening.
Food was outstanding as was the service. Slightly uncomfortable to sit for food at the bar but was lovely to see the bartender/waiter there making drinks and being so attentive. Beautiful room. Overall amazing experience
Great place to have a post theatre meal. We enjoyed a main course each with a bottle of wine. Would definitely go back again.
Food great as usual but delayed sadly this time and we were under pressure to get to the theatre. Just meant we didn't get to hVe dessert which we would have liked. Otherwise excellent as normal.
