Fantastic evening at The Ivy Harrogate. Wonderful varied menu and each course was packed full of flavour . Great range of wines and spirits. Service was excellent and a nice ambience, attentive but not obtrusive and not rushed. I had requested a table with chairs with arms due to spinal issues and as usual this was provided. I’ve dropped one star because the table we had was lower than a standard height table and I found this very uncomfortable for my spine issues ( I’m tall and long bodied), going forward we will also request a regular height table.

This is the worst meal I have had at the Ivy. It was meant to be chicken boneless breast, which was boneless but was dark meat and some breast flattened thin. the skin was left on the chicken and then the mushroom sauce pored over the skin. Very disappointing

Table service was excellent. Missed items from the kitchen and numerous items unavailable from the menu were disappointing. Starter was probably one of the nicest dishes I've ever had. The main was average at best, and the desert was massively unbalanced and too sweet. Had high hopes for the Ivy but won't be rushing to return.

Always enjoy the ivy, but finding it a bit expensive now, and with the 10% added on service charge, is taking it out of my price range, would prefer to decide on the tip myself, depending on the service received. It is embarrassing to ask them to take it off, and explain why i want to decide myself.

Afternoon tea was nice - but slightly spoiled by the fact that the bread on some of the finger sandwiches had started to go hard. Also it was difficult to get the attention of the waiting staff to get tea/coffee top ups.

We were sat at the far end of the restaurant but it was very cold because of the constant opening of the door into the 'outside' area. The starters were lovely but the main course, Coconut curry I think, was only average. Disappointing.

The restaurant was very cold, we mentioned this and the waiter said the heating was on full! Definitely not we were freezing. The food was ok but the service was very good. Won’t be rushing back sorry.

Service poor, food ok. Table felt cramped between two tables for four. Very little privacy to talk. Drink at bar before meal, had to ask for table even though lots of staff milling around talking amongst themselves. Second visit to ivy won’t go again, not impressed.

Sandwiches and scones excellent and well presented but let down by cake quality and selection - very ordinary and mass produced. Apparently they had run out of some cakes!? and substituted with more mass produced mince pies (so four very ordinary mince pies for two people). Afternoon tea expensive for what was presented on the day.

Having had brunch last month I decided to take a friend for her birthday and sample the festive lunch menu. Each dish was cooked to perfection. There was an error with one of our sides and this was corrected as soon as chef could cook some sprouts - perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble for the always smiling staff. They were even happy for us to sit at a freshly laid table on leaving so we could have a photograph taken next to the Christmas tree. Can't wait to return.

Terrible experience. Table booked for 20:45, didn’t get our mains served until 22:20. Slow service, terrible food and ruined birthday evening as we had to cancel our drinks table at a bar we had booked due to the poor slow service. Told the waitress we were unhappy and disappointed, she didn’t even ask why!! A very unhappy customer
