Let The Ivy become part of your everyday life. Pop in when you fancy meeting up with a friend or family. At The Ivy, you’re sure to be warmly welcomed by a friendly face. And then you can let your hair down and get down to some serious fun, with delicious food and cocktails flowing.
We enjoyed our meal at the Ivy, and had a nice evening and dinner. However, I can’t honestly say it was anything special. Fortunately, we had a gift token which paid for much of the bill. Otherwise, I would have been very disappointed.
Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at the Ivy Harrogate. Service was very poor.
We had been to the York and Manchester branches which were outstanding, so chose this for a very special occasion.
Waited an awful long time for drinks, water and wine was not topped up and mains arrived before the starters.
Food was very good I must say. We spoke to the manager who was not apologetic, although did clear our table himself!
Service was great our waitress was lovely but the food was absolutely shocking, I’ve had the Ivy shepherds pie in the original ivy and at least 4 cafes and this was the worst, no seasoning and meat was tough, tasteless, so disappointing
Unfortunately another example of a fine restaurant becoming a chain making money off its name when the quality is no where near as amazing as the original.
Always a pleasure, food is delightful and staff always have a warm welcome.
Great food. Fantastic service. Would love to come again
Great atmosphere, food was excellent as always, service was a little slow probably due to the number of customers on this busy evening. Highly recommended for any occasion.
Food fab bill query no one got back to me defiantly overcharged,
Really good ❤️
The service was brilliant and our waiter could not have been nicer or more attentive. Food was great but it always is
The food was pretty good and the server was friendly and prompt. The delay on drinks from the bar was annoying. I ate my entire main course before my second drink arrived that I’d ordered 15 minutes beforehand. I chased with the very apologetic server who knew the bar was chronically understaffed
Outstanding as always, nothing to much trouble for the staff !!
Ivy Harrogate is currently one of our favourite restaurants, lovely food, friendly staff and great atmosphere.
The food and service were perfect. Our services were very helpful and it was lovely to have a little chat to them most restaurants they take the order, hand out the good and they don’t have time to engage. The restaurant had a great buzz and we sat and chatted to an elderly couple next to us. We loved every minute and the recommendation of the valentines cheesecake sweet was amazing thank you
Lovely food & service. Food came out quick and hot considering how busy it was
Very good, great people, great atmosphere. What you pay for :)
Tony was our waiter and he was fantastic, warm and welcoming, guiding us through the menu, anticipating our every need, excellently serving us delicious food. The meal was served in a relaxed atmosphere and we were not rushed in any way. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon celebrating our friends ruby wedding anniversary. Thank you to Tony and all at The Ivy.
Very poor service , slow and no attention to detail.
Only one waiter really working - rest of team stood at round talking or trying to look busy walking around ? But not reacting with clients or clearing tables.
Or waiter did his best - but he was doing it all alone.
Lovely place, food and service. However, my cousin and I were situated in the middle of 2 other tables and was aware of the lone man sat at the side of us listening to our conversation, this was easy for him to do as the tables are very close together.
This is my 4th time here - this time the food wasn’t quite up to scratch. Osso Bucco shepherds pie was small and pretty dried out. Chips were soft. Not huge issues but every previous time it’s been flawless
Lovely food in lovely surroundings. With a special complimentary birthday treat at the end.
Excellent meal and service as always.only let down by some other loud customers...spent whole hour and half listening to their booming voices not appropriate for setting.
This was my third visit to Harrogate Ivy. Our table was not ready when we arrived and we had to stand in the doorway for about 10 minutes. It was VERY noisy and we found the menu not very interesting .Food was good though.
was slightly disappointed overall
I went Double Duck tonight with the duck pancakes followed by the duck curry. Both plates were wiped clean!!!
My other half had the same starter, without ginger or coriander, and her favourite, shepherds pie, for a main - again another success.
We tried the organic pinot grigio , which was a llttle too acidic, but the albarino was magnificent! A friend commented that we should try the Ivy Bomb when she saw on FB that we were there & although we seldom have deserts I did & am so glad I did - fabulous!
Apologies that we can't remember our waitresses name but she was fantastic too.
Never the cheapest night but never the most pricey & well worth it.
I’m very pleased that I’ve been. Very attentive service, food ok, but not great and sadly. Was expecting great. My partner and I enjoyed the experience, but probably won’t go back.
Always reliable and consistently good. We visited at 5pm this time and the restaurant was full with plenty of staff. The food, service and ambience never disappoint therefore it is a great restaurant to bring guests.
Food average but not overly priced, drinks as you’d expect very pricey. Average service, wine list not given had to ask again, no apology, different waiting staff served us so no continuity, felt reluctant to pay service charge (12.5%) as didn’t feel it was deserved.
It was my daughters 22 Birthday. The meal was lovely and the service is exceptional.
It is the second time we have been there and it was just as great as we remembered.
They gave my daughter a little birthday cake to take home and she was over the moon as it was unexpected.
When I booked with open table I clicked on the birthday occasion not expecting anything, so I was also delighted as it made the meal extra special. ❤️
Faultless - well done to an all round fabulous team
I went to the Ivy with my partner and had a fantastic evening. The food was beautiful and the service attentive. However the downside was you could hardly read the menu it was so dark and they shook a £20 tip onto the bill and a a neatly £5 bottle of water and I found this exceptionally assumptive and bad mannered.
Really disappointing.Food was like bad pub food.Service was terrible.
Amazing food here, lovely place, lovely service, beautiful all round.
I was celebrating my 50th birthday and the staff were very attentive from the moment we walked in, the doughnut ‘birthday cake’ was a nice touch.
Fabulous breakfast nice and hot as it should be. Mark the Assistant Manager noticed from our previous visit and we had a lovely conversation a real credit to the business. I shall be booking a third time soon
Came in for brunch on Friday, service was excellent and had a great breakfast brought really quickly. Would definitely go again.
They made us feel very welcome and found us a table suitable for my husband who uses a walking stick and doesn’t move too easily and without being asked
Always superb beautiful food amazing service first class every time
What a wonderful experience. Lovely atmosphere. Fantastic food and friendly staff. Will definitely be returning again soon. Thanks
Very nice experience really enjoyed the day will return
Always receive great service and food.
We ordered a bottle of Viognier and when it was being served the colour was very yellow, on tasting it also was very acidic and not like a Viognier should be. Our Waitress was fabulous and immediately took it away and we chose an alternative at no extra cost.
Will return to The Ivy time and time again.
