Enjoyable evening. Wine choices expensive. Food poor, chicken Bourguignon so dry, couldn’t eat it., as we were with friends didn’t make a fuss. Food was also slow to arrive, had to ask what the delay was. Waiter charming.
Food was superb and the service was excellent. However, the table were very close together and therefore, wasn't very intimate which would have been our preference / expectation.
The restaurant was very busy, noisy and we had difficulty hearing the waiter and had to speak up to hear each other.
Food prices were not too bad, but the wine was ridiculously overpriced
Lovely food, attentive service, great value. We will definitly be returning very soon
Best in Yorkshire by miles - glamorous and a real treat at brilliant prices.
Great ambience. Shepherds pie was fabulous. Only niggle was that coffee cane before the desert.
Lovely ambience and food. Excellent service. Not cheap but good value for what you get.
Poor table especially when celebrating a special occasion ( 45 years of marriage) Also very noisey and the service was not good for a restaurant with a well known reputation
If I go back again I will book direct with the restaurant rather than going through opentable
Been to lots of these restaurants across the country - always good food and the service was excellent.
The ambience/decoration in the Ivy is good. The service, while attentive, was uninspiring...going through the motions. The menu was in my opinion lacklustre and our food OK but nothing special. Adding this all up made it an expensive experience.
A warm welcome from highly professional staff, gorgeous surroundings, comfortable chairs and excellent food made for a very enjoyable lunch with friends visiting from Dorset. I particularly loved my onion soup followed by hake. London standards in Harrogate - well done!
Fabulous food and wine, and very friendly knowledgeable staff
We where celebrating my daughters 21st and couldnt fault the restuarant.. Just the best in service and food.
Will definately be returning
Service was very good as usual and the food also good. My only criticism of today’s food was the side dish of chips were not well cut. Too many small pieces. I suggest you provide ‘chunky chips’ to remove the itsy bitsy pieces
Celebrating wedding anniversary great food amazing desserts
Booked lunch to celebrate wedding anniversary with my husband; from the moment we walked in to the time leaving we were thoroughly looked after and spoiled. The ambience is lovely and our menu choice was fantastic. Our waitress was very attentive but not overbearing. Had a fabulous afternoon!
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my mother as her birthday treat. Lunch menu was very tasty and great value. Staff were very friendly and attentive
The actual place is fab, there was an enjoyable atmosphere and the maitra D was very accommodating. The monk fish and prawn curry was good, very tasty, my friend had steak and chips which was OK,
The Ivy Harrogate is an excellent venue for a nice lunch or weekend brunch with family and friends.
The service and ambience are excellent but the food, whilst very good and nicely presented, is not particularly special.
Two things I would comment upon about this visit;
1. I had a dessert with ice cream which seemed pretty ordinary like Carte d'Or rather than a proper Italian style vanilla ice cream.
2. There is a silly little vestibule at the front door with a screen for the host to check you in. There is room for no more than 3 people and if another party is leaving as you arrive, there is no room to move. If there is no host and you walk into to the bar area, they ask you to go back with them to check in and this feels all wrong. This feature badly needs to be re-worked.
It was my daughters special birthday and I wanted to take her somewhere special. Waiter brought our main courses over and put it on table before we had finished our starter then he cleared table and took my daughters drink before she had finished. Felt rushed
Visited The Ivy on Sunday 14th Oct . Great service, with very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome . The food was outstanding and there was so much choice . Worth a visit and looking forward to returning here .
Enjoyed a family meal that included children and everyone enjoyed it.
One of the best, if not the best dining experience my wife and I have had in Harrogate over the years.
The Ivy sits along some of the best restaurants which we have visited within Europe.
It was the first time in a very long time that we came out and said wow, that was worth the money.
We will be visiting this establishment again in the near future.
Service was a bit slow but it was really busy. One of the waiters told a member of the party in an offhand manner she was wrong and she didn’t have a different menu only then to swipe it from her having accepted it was a brunch menu not evening menu and then disappear saying he would replace it but he never came back. His manner was not great which was a shame as front of house and the rest of the waiters were exceptional. The quality of the food is good value for money.
Great food , we had an incident with our desert which u would have expected them to handle better than they did. Lovely food and atmosphere and staff were lovely overall
What a place . A little bit of London magic in Harrogate.
For the moment we walk through the door the service was fantastic.
Food was excellent.
The atmosphere was truly wonderful.
Great value for money.
My thanks go out to all at the Ivy.
I was here with friends to celebrate my 60th. The bulk of the group opted for Afternoon Tea which was fabulous. We had a very attentive waitress at the start of our afternoon but she either went on her break or had finished her shift as I had to chase for more service to order drinks etc.
However for a chain restaurant (and I only usually support independants) I thought that the service, food and atmosphere was good and would return
The Ivy is always consistently great with its food. Cocktails 🍸 and service. Lovely place to come. 🙂 🐝
Great food, fantastic service and a fab place to dine with friends!
We paid for my son and daughter-in-law to visit the Ivy in Harrogate for their first wedding anniversary as a surprise treat. They absolutely loved everything about it. The service. The food, and the gift of 2 glasses of prosecco and a cake to celebrate the event. They would definitely return and we are looking forward to coming in the future. Thanks v much for making the brunch one to remember.
Great from start to finish with a very attentive staff
Excellent service and great food.
I would ideally like the choice to add a tip instead of the service charge being added. I know this was discretionary, but I would not ask for this to be removed. I think you should tip on what you think, the service was super, and I think it would mean more to the staff if people where allowed to give what they think they deserved.
Lovely upmarket Bistro feel with attentive service.
Great meal, food was outstanding. Reasonable prices, not what you would expect from the Ivy. Lovely cocktails and service was impeccable!
A wonderful evening pre booked for my husbands Birthday. Great food and drink, lovely attentive service from both waiting staff and bar staff and a lovely birthday touch at sweet time.
A little chilly when first arrived as directly under the air con but it warmed up over the night as the restaurant filled. Romantic and great place to dress for dinner.
No alcohol free beer- we had to go out and get our own for my father in laws on his birthday.
I guess you bring in the slow cooked lamb and don’t cook it on site - we asked if it had garlic in it, were told it didn’t do it was ordered. Some while later a waitress returned to say they couldn’t guarantee that didn’t have garlic. Disappointed, my father in law (he is 81) would not choose an alternative until I coaxed him into egg and chips.
Great service, great food. Fabulous evening all round
Just a great overall experience, excellent service, great food, lovely place, nice atmosphere.
Great if you’re not in a hurry! Despite mentioning at least 4 time’s (to different staff) that we were on a schedule for the theatre the attention from staff was very poor. We had been given a dessert menu but no-one came back to take our order. We had to get up to go and find someone to get us a bill it took that long. Individually the staff were all very pleasant and the food and environment great but the management of tables seemed haphazard.
Also the reception area is a poor design. When we opened the door to go we clouted a new guest who had just arrived. Needs enlarging or a clear glass putting in the door.
I dine fairly regularly at The Ivy Harrogate and have never been disappointed. We are always greeted beautifully and looked after very well by any in the team we are served by.
This last experience was particularly memorable, great bar staff, particularly James, Rhiannon and Geoff to name three specific stars.
We also spoke at some length with Rodney, the General Manager, who most most charming and interested in our feedback.
