I received a gift voucher for The Ivy , Harrogate, My husband and I had a great evening. Food was very good, staff were friendly but professional at all times. Would recommend to friends and would book at table at the Ivy again
Food, service and atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. Can not wait to go again!
Good experience generally.
First time here.
Positives - good quality food, nice environment with quality furnishing. Staff very polite.
Negatives - weak service. Left 25 mins at bar waiting for table (table had been pre-booked). Long wait to place order and had to chase them for first round of drinks. There was quite a draught coming from somewhere so asked for different table. Finally they brought the wrong bill and had to wait another 15 mins for the right one.
Prices aren’t ridiculous but with sloppy service I felt I had paid over the odds. Shame.
This place could be very good but it just didn’t all come together. I hope they address it as it made what should have been a lovely afternoon into a disappointment.
Nice venue for girls’ weekend away dinner. We had a lovely round table which was very comfortable. Very enjoyable evening.
Food excellent and the slight smell of fish that permeated the air last time we were at the Ivy had gone. Atmosphere was vibrant.
Had a lovely catch up with an old friend - lovely food, staff very friendly and efficient and brilliant ambience. Really enjoyed it.
Our first visit and we found the staff very helpful. We asked for a quiet table and they obliged without hesitation.
Gluten free Fish Pie was delicious as was the Lamb. The menu was very extensive - had such a good choice.
Desserts were delicious too.
Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon.
Went to the Ivy Bistro for lunch this week. The restaurant was pretty busy - a good sign! We had the lunch time menu which really suited us - portions were not too huge and were nicely presented. I was really pleased that we didn't have a 'Christmas Menu' - there is only so many roast dinners one can eat! Our menu offered some good choices - fish/ meat / vegetarian - something for everyone in our group.
I took my goddaughter to lunch and had the fish pie special, it was tasteless, the sauce was watery and all in all it was not very appetising at all.
My second visit to The Ivy and the experience was exactly the same. The food, staff, and atmosphere are second to none.
Every guest is serviced very well and the timing between courses is perfect.
I can't wait for my next visit.
Visited on a quiet Tuesday evening before a spa evening.
Food was presented well and tasted great. Wine was lovely. Only criticism is my steak sandwich could have been a little hotter - however, I had asked for it rare and as it was a thin steak I can appreciate why it was a little on the cool side. My girlfriend's dish was perfect.
We were in a bit of a rush due to the spa and service was prompt!
fantastic food and service. the only disappointing element was the cramped entrance where you are booked in
This restaurant has a good ambiance. The staff are attentive without being too obtrusive. The food - I had fish - was lovely. Enjoyed the evening. I felt the vegetarian menu could have been more adventurous.
I was intrigued to discover that The Ivy had an outpost in my home town, Harrogate. I always thought it was a brand that would fit well in the town - the whole 20s art deco thing belongs. So I took my Mum here for dinner one evening as a treat.
The restaurant itself didn't disappoint. The decor was gorgeous and it's a very spacious place. The menu is solid and they have a great wine selection (especially for Harrogate). Service was excellent and mirrored experiences I've had at the original location.
The one thing that let me down was some of my fellow diners. Whilst it may look and feel like The Ivy, some of the people sat around us were quite different. We may have been unlucky but we sat next to a family who sat on their phones for the entire meal. The child was watching videos with the volume on high and the two men took great delight in showing each other Youtube videos - also with the volume on high. This also seemed to be mirrored on other tables. It was quite strange - but I suppose that is Harrogate for you.
Beyond the bizarre clientele, which may have been down to it being a Monday night (?) it was a great dining experience. I'll definitely be back.
Lovely food, atmosphere and service . Attentive without being intrusive
A lovely meal good service.lovely surroundings Bar man could have done with a clean white jacket!
I have eaten here several times but on this occasion was disappointed with the service and the food. We seemed to be invisible to any waiters once we sat down and food was good but not exceptional and would have expected more from The Ivy. There was no personal touch and it felt like a chain restaurant which is a shame for the prices and reputation. Sorry.
First class as always . Absolutely love eating here . All the staff are great .
A decadent restaurant for a special occasion or for those visiting Harrogate who enjoy fine dining. Ambience was perfect. No back ground music to spoil the purr of other diners chatter. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable, without being overbearing, and dishes were presented with flare and elegance, as one would expect in this type of establishment. The Ivy is definitely worth visiting, and is a jewel in Harrogate's crown!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal at The Ivy. Good choices on menu . We did not check our bill carefully and did not realize a 12 1/2 % service charge was added. And we left a cash tip so the restaurant benefited from our inattention. The service was excellent.
Lovely restaurant. Food was great, particularly starters of pate and hot duck salad. Steamed seabass steak and kidney pudding were also delicious. But best thing was the service, two delightful waitresses, charming and efficient. We had a lovely evening.
Overall my experience at The Ivy was amazing! Food & service were excellent. Unfortunately my visit was marred by a slip on the floor by the bar. I landed heavily on my left side, which caused me some discomfort during my meal & for a couple of days afterward. The staff helped me up & brought me the accident book but no gesture of goodwill was offered. That said, I will definitely be back to The Ivy!
Food is good but not outstanding. Service poor. Lovely decor and surroundings. You are paying for the Ivy name. Wouldn’t rush back unless it was for a quick bite.
Lovely atmosphere, good service and delicious food. We love this restaurant whether we want a casual brunch or a more celebratory evening meal.
A delicious well presented meal with great friendly staff.
A great place for food, environment and service. Really enjoyed ourselves, definitely worth a visit. The only critique I’d give is with regard to the double set of dots for the entrance vestibule. It doesn’t work having that small ‘porch’ for checking diners in, when you’re constantly having to dodge the inner door opening.
Breakfast was cold so had to send it back. Service was very slow. Wouldn’t go back.
We had an excellent meal and great Service at The Ivy Harrogate. The waitress was attentive without being intrusive and the food was very well presented and tasty. Only downside was that some of the tables were quite close together.
Very good early evening experience at The Ivy. First time visit to one outside London and we’ll definitely go again.
Although very busy, the customer focus was excellent and as a consequence there was a lovely atmosphere 👍
HAD A FABULOUS TIME, LOOKING FORWARD TO A RETURN VISIT
Prawn cocktail starter was ok but better if 50 % of the prawns had shells still on then Game pie was excellent and asked for chips instead of mash but chips was very obviously last in the frying as was just bits of chips not good as well as being lukewarm also game sauce was cold overall not that good did mention to waitress who said sorry and offered to replace but did not want to eat my meal after my wife had finished hers then still charged me service charge but rather than complain as restaurant was very busy just just paid but left feeling ben turned over
We ate at the harrogate ivy on Friday 30th November. However when my friend was finishing her lamb there was a long black hair in it. We did not complain as the dish was nearly finished, but please be careful in the future.
Prior to that we were greeted and treated impeccably.
We have not experienced this before and hopefully not in the future.
I came to Harrogate with a group of friends Christmas shopping with a special lunch in between and it was all we could ask for. We all enjoyed our meals and the chocolate bomb desert was amazing. Will definitely come back and recommend.
The plates could have been warmer - nice staff - small portions
My friend & I visited as we were staying overnight in Harrogate. From start to finish our whole experience was fabulous. The staff, service, decor, menu choice, food & ambience was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
The ambience and service is bang on I guess but the food was kind of disappointing. I had fish and chips and for £14 the fish was way to small and not enough to fill a grown up. I've had better portions on the seafront at Redcar for a fiver. My friend had fishcakes, again too small and neither of these dishes were anything amazing taste wise. We both had crème brule for desert but it was too runny and sloppy so we didn't finish it. One alcoholic drink each and a coffee and the bill was nearly £100. Disappointing and definitely not value for money.
Fantastic ! The place , food and staff . Can’t wait to go back
This was our first rrip to the Ivy and were very much lookjng forward to it for a birthday treat and had travelled 2 hours to get there. We ordered the minute steak from the set menu and were given the option of medium or well done and we asked for very well done and for it to be fully cooked through. When it arrived it was more like rare with soggy chips on the side so we had to send it back which they did and cooked it some more but it still ended up being returned as medium and red all the way through. Why can restaurants not understand that some customers, even if it is a very small proportion actually like food cooked and when they request it that's what they should get especially when medium or well done were the only options. The restaurant was extremely noisy and did not have the ambiance that we were led to believe to expect. Maybe because it was busy but we also observed at least 3 orders being sent to the wrong tables.
