I had reservations about the Ivy having read some negative reviews, but my experience was superb. Really good food and decent portion sizes, very attentive service and good pricing. The atmosphere was lovely and the decor is nice. Refreshing to have beautiful ladies toilets. Already booked to return
Tried the Ivy for Breakfast before a long day at work. OMG it was amazing, I chose the vegetarian breakfast which was delicious. I thought the portions might be small but no I actually struggled to eat it all. Service is first class with efficient friendly staff. Decor is amazing and you have to see the loo’s!!!! I thought it was very reasonably priced and cannot wait to return.
Fantastic food and service . Beautiful restaurant.
A very enjoyable early evening supper . Good service and a comfortable ambiance . Looking forward to another visit next week ,
Celebrated my Birthday at the Ivy in the lanes... staff were brilliant.. yummy food.. loved the interior... and had some delicious vino and champers... what’s not to like.. go..enjoy!
Excellent food, excellent service. The place looks fantastic too.
Great staff and very acomodating, the effort and attention to making the experience fantastic
Starters were excellent (Prawn tempura was mega). I had The Ivy Burger which was very bog standard, didn’t feel home made and really just a damn average burger. Wife had steak and chips which were ok. She also had the chocolate bomb for desser which was excellent. A meal of ups and downs
Fabulous food, wonderful decor and attentive and friendly service.
My senses were delighted from the glorious sights of the decor, the aromatic smell of the food, the luxurious feel of the napkins, the divine taste of every dish ~ the thumping sound of the dance music didn't make it a full 5, but I hope they are listening to their customers and going for a softer sound to complement the elegance of the rest of The ivy experience ~ I'm looking forward to my next visit with pleasure.
Had lunch here with an old school friend, we had an amazing time. Food was Delicious and the ambience is great. The staff were friendly and also very efficient. The ladies toilets are worth a visit too. We would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Lovely venue, staff were very attentive and helpful.
The interior is lovey. Rather smelling of fish. Acoustics not so good - needed to change tables. sue noisy table.
Thank you to Poppy and the team on 21/6/18 for excellent service, food and atmosphere at the Ivy Brighton. This is a must visit for anyone in Brighton.
Service was poor, lacked attention and finesse. They had run out of wine and choosen food for all three diners, staff hardly cared or apologised, just shrugged shoulders
The only quibble is that the main course (a crispy flattened chicken dish) came with nothing but some watery jus/gravy and was a little dry.
Lovely food and atmosphere, just fell down a little on service, as we had to wait to order for a little too long...we eventually asked a different waiter to take our order.
My mum and I had afternoon tea together there, we have an afternoon tea tradition for special occasions, at different places (this one was mum’s belated birthday) everything about it was lovely, relaxing, such a pretty uplifting environment (gorgeous colours everywhere) the savoury sandwiches were gorgeous and not too heavy, and all the scone/sweet parts of the tea were just yum! We were looked after really well, a lovely afternoon treat
Fairly poor. Little attention to details, like putting a tablecloth on the table. We also waited about 40 minutes for our food and it wasn’t a full restaurant.
Fabulous dining hall, glamorous and evocative. Lunch menu good value, steak and fries excellent but the crab, watermelon and avocado starter tasteless. Staff have been trained and know what they're doing - a nice experience for the guest!
We attended you’re restaurant Monday for my daughters 18 th birthday . The atmosphere staff all lovely and friendly sadly the service was very slow . My partner ordered soup we ordered bread and had to ask for the bread three times the bread arrived half an hour later . The waiter apologised and said it would be taken off the bill and the soup . When the bill arrived it was still on the bill but we had paid before we noticed . We alerted the staff but no one came back to the table after 15 minutes and we had to dash off as we had a party to get to . I would come again but felt you should receive an honesty feed back . Many thanks .
A fantastic evening, meal for 2 in the smaller dining part which was lovely. We then moved on to the bar for cocktails which was in the main dining area, wonderfully vibrant.
From the moment we walked in there was a wonderful welcome from the staff. The food was divine. Cocktails fabulous.
You must visit the rest rooms too!
Lovely food, friendly and very attentive staff. Particularly loved the decor and surroundings. Beautiful bar area would be happy to sit there next time. Hope to come back for afternoon tea soon. Thank you
Beautiful interior. The ladies loo is amazing! Food superb with great choice. Loved it.
Excellent ambience and food.
Outstanding service throughout - especially Racquel.
I came here for a joint celebration. My birthday and Father’s Day.
Sadly, they had run out of gluten free chips for my mum but quickly came up with a solution.
The food was increadable, the drinks were spectacular (the best espresso martini I’ve ever had! Hands down) and our waiter was so lovely and funny.
It wasn’t just a meal out, it was an experience. Especially the chocolate bomb for pudding! Amazing!
Thank you so much to everyone at the ivy
Had afternoon tea. Was excellent and very good value! Fab interiors and lovely staff. Thankyou
We absolutely love the ivy. Great food great decor great service great price
We went for Father's day breakfast. The food was delicious and service was great. We did not feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
I loved my evening out at the Ivy in the lanes. the decor and ambience are unique and the food and drinks delicious. Looking forward to returning in July to see if my next waiter/waitress will be just as informal.
A great addition to the restaurant scene in Brighton. The decor is stunning over the top but works very well . Even the toilets are spectacular to visit . The tables are spaced out so that you do not feel on top of each other. A lovely, vibrant atmosphere. The staff are superb every knee it was a special occasion and wished us a good evening. The duck parfait must be the best I have tried. The monkfish and prawn curry stunning. My husband said he would eat the shepherd’s pie every time he visits. A special dessert was presented to us as a special occasion so a lovely touch. We will go again soon and have been recommending it.
Great service good food a very pleasant experience
Fantastic dinner, beautiful surroundings, fantastic food , ambience and service . I have told all my friends and we will be back !
A special treat for our Anniversary. We will be back - for sure. The service was impeccable and the food quality was great. The atmosphere was very nice indeed with a mixture of diners and meals ordered ... including a party of ladies having afternoon tea! Thankfully there were no children present ... My only gripe would be that my steak could have been left to rest longer and the fried eggs appeared to have been left on the pass for a while as the yolks were 'crispy'. That having been said, the Duck Salad and the Fish and Chips were amazing.
Food mediocre and service not great. A lot of the staff look miserable. Interiors very good but overall overrated. A lot better food around Brighton.
Fantastic experience from the reception ladies to the waiters, wine barman to the bill staff. Fantastic place, excellent staff, cocktails and food xxx see you next month x
A simply brilliant and beautiful restaurant and a fantastic asset for Brighton. I have already booked another reservation and can't wait to return
We visited The Ivy with friends on a Friday evening. The food was delicious and the cocktails were a great compliment to it.
- our starters came up and were put down in the wrong places which did not bother us, we moved the plates accordingly and as the waiters walked
Very good food and excellent friendly service in a beautifully decorated restaurant. The Ladies loo decor is fantastic.
I had mucked up the time of my booking on line and the person who telephoned helpfully found me a slot as it was my birthday.
Booked this for afternoon tea for a treat for my daughters birthday -we had a lovely afternoon , excellent attentive service , & tasty food - enjoyed the ambiance & very comfortable Surrondings - will definatley return
