Absolutely fantastic service, the staff couldn't do enough for us!
Great breakfast treat in lovely surroundings we will be back
Such a lovely place, gorgeous interior. Amazing service and the fish was cooked to perfection. Great ambience, would highly recommend.
overall very good, good atmosphere and food....although tables are quite close together so very cozy!
Excellent service. Lovely meal and always great ambience.
Having had to wait several months to get a table for 6 at a convenient time for all,was slightly disappointed with this our 1st visit, there was a fishy smell that was lingering around immediately
Upon entry to restaurant and when seated. We had all made an effort to dress smart but felt over dressed with many people in jeans and more casual attire.Had expected a lot better on the food front, was nice but not spectacular. One big plus was the staff and how they remembered each persons food and drink order, and placed all orders with exactly who had ordered it.Also there was a rather loud group who had been drinking and were allowed to annoy other diners before asked to leave....not what we had expected to see here. Will however return , mainly because I have a voucher to use and would like to give The Ivy another try.
Very dissatisfied on this occasion when our drinks order was taken we ordered drinks and also asked for some tap water it never arrived and my wife ordered afternoon tea and the waiter tried to take it away and clear table before see had finished which I thought was rude
Food was amazing as always just a bit disappointed with the service
Could not fault it, was an absolute treat. Would recommend to anyone for a special occasion
I reserved a table for 2. I noted that I did not want to sit by the Toilet ___ they put me by the Toilet. I noted that it was a Celebration Lunch, they never did anything with this information. The Main Dining area is very pleasant, not as good as others in the group, but I guess it suits the levels expected in Brighton. At first they put us in the Annex, behind the main room __ it was AWFUL. It was so noisy like being in a closed box. The noise was made worse by the DJ playing such awful music and high levels that I could not hear my partner speak. I requested a move to the main room. Why does this place need a DJ, just put on some pleasant "low volume" background music like other Ivy's, save yourself his crazy wages. When booking try to make it clear that you want to be in the main room, where the bar is located, this room suits the rather high prices that you are expand to pay. Read the menu before you arrive, the Wine cost are extravagant for basic stuff. It's popular because [besides the VIP Pizzeria in Brighton] the other eating places are rough, dirty, unfriendly and you feel like you are being robbed when you ending up paying the bill. Sitting in the main room you do at least feel like you are in a good location.
Really nice atmosphere. Great food. Could have been more choice for younger children tho but a lovely place as will def return
We eat at the Ivy on a regular basis and feel it’s a great addition to Brighton.
Fantastic decor, great food and on the whole superb service.
However at our last visit we did find that once we had received our main courses, the service was not as attentive.
It took a while for our plates to be cleared. And also we had to ask for the dessert menu.
We requested coffees and these were brought before the desserts.
But on the whole it will not deter us from dining at the Ivy in the future.
We have now been twice to the Ivy in the Lanes and enjoyed our experience , except for the choice of CLUB music during a Sunday lunch!
I’m afraid it is not right and detracts from the lovely surroundings - I’m sure we cannot be the only ones to find it annoying ? Re think the music selection
Great food and atmosphere, although service a bit slow! Would go back.
Myself and my husband came for a lunch date before our baby arrives. Everything about our experience was just perfect. We had a lovely afternoon and will definitely return!
Had a lovely breakfast on Sunday 17th. My wife's latte was not that hot but they replaced it straight away. Dealt with my wife's ceoliac diet easily. Will return soon.
Very nice breakfast. Lovely decor and ambience. Would recommend to others.
Fantastic evening, great food and I love the atmosphere.
Good time I eat at the ivy about once a month and enjoy it .... but save up first very expensive for what you get! Just being honest
Really enjoyed our anniversary meal- first visit to the Ivy- the service was excellent and the steak really good value. House red wine was perfectly drinkable and affordable- would definitely return
It's my fourth visit to the Ivy and I must say never disappoints only gets better. The staff are excellent all of them so attentive and courteous and extremely professional in every way. No wonder you have to book well in advance.
very expensive however worth the money for the overall experience, delicious food and impeccable service! would 100% recommend
Do not pay the service charge they levy on all transactions!!! From the food to the drinks at the bar they charge 12.5% service - the serving staff get very little of this!! I asked one waiter and out of the £4.95 I was charged, he will see £1.25 of it!!!
Get the charge taken off and give your server cash.
The afternoon tea was absolutely delightful and the service even better. We had a ball😊
Food was excellent again. We had afternoon tea. I was very disappointed how noisy the restaurant was this time. When we walked in I was taken back by the bedlum.I didn't expect to hear loud unrecognizable music, people at some tables were shouting above it. I'm treating a friend to afternoon tea in a couple of weeks , I'm worried if Liberace the right choice.
I visited here with a friend of mine, both never been before and it exceeded expectations! All the staff were so friendly and attentive, and the interior itself was just beautiful. Great food st a reasonable price, We are planning our next visit already!
first time in the ivy and absolutely loved it. Chilled dining vibes with a cool edge to it. Loved the DJ & quirky cocktails
The food was outstanding the surroundings atmosphere exclent the only thing that lets it down is the pricing of the drinks
Great food, Amazing service we really enjoyed our visit. Thank you.
I would recommend The Ivy however we were four friends who had met to have a nice lunch and a chat and this was very difficult as the music was far too loud. This would be said in my recommendation to anyone I was recommending The Ivy to. As we were sitting right in front of the DJ we saw that several times the waiters had requested that it be turned down by other people. This never happed, it just needs background music especially at lunch time.
Great food, good service and fantastic ambience. What more would anyone want.?
Great venue for special occasions or simply an easy brunch.
We went with friends who were visiting, as we thought it would be something different. We were not wrong. The surroundings were beautiful, and the staff were exceptional, attentive but not intrusive. The food was lovely, a really good breakfast, but with an elegant twist. The whole experience was enjoyable, and one that will most definitely be repeated.
We went to the ivy for a birthday breakfast treat. It’s a lovely restaurant, great service. The food was amazing, the only one thing that was disappointing was that the full English breakfast stated that it came with black pudding but seemed to be missing from our breakfast.
Otherwise no complaints. They even bought a little cake out for the birthday girl!
We will definitely be returning.
Nothing compares to dining at this beautiful destination. The decor and ambience cannot be rivalled in Brighton. It has a nice buzz, and this is in part to the excellent layout of the dining areas in this large restaurant. The decor is beautiful, and compares starkly against the overly-popular dark grey painted venues that fill other corners of the city. The menu is surprisingly unpretentious, with a huge choice for all tastes and appetites, and full of flavour. Its all incredibly affordable, with prices comparable to gastropubs.
Perfect portions make a 3-course indulgence enjoyable, not leaving you feeling like you need to be rolled out of the door. A late night supper meant that we were unhurried. The waiting staff are so polite and attentive, and we appreciated the care from our host Dimitrios (apologies if that is spelled incorrectly). I look forward to returning next month for both an Afternoon Tea and also private dining in the Tidal Room. Thank you.
We have been to the Ivy in York and it was a much nicer experience. in the lanes the tables are so close together I could hear all the conversation the other table were having, I was rather disappointed to be honest.
I expected luxury and exceptional service, we had to ask twice for the bill and for drinks. The waitress was nice, but not on the ball with what we needed.
I wont be booking the lanes anytime soon, but I would go back to the York one.
My suggestion would be to move the tables away from each other at least 2 feet so everyone feels they have their own personal space.
Our waitress was amazing, the food and the drinks were incredible, and it came to a reasonable price for a Valentines meal. Great date night.
Friendly and unfussy. My wife had roasted butternut sqush and grain which she enjoyed. I had the Ivy Burger which was good and interesting. The House wines are good
Recommended several times already
Wonderful place me and the Mrs love it
We had a great meal and received impeccable service; the decor is stunning and the atmosphere lively.
Beautiful location, lovely cocktails and great food and service. Would recommend the monkfish curry and zucchini fries
A lovely restaurant with a great ambience, good service and tasty, but not excpetional food. The down side is the high noise levels due to the lack of soft furnishings, and the eye-watering price of the wines.
