Hidden away towards the back of the main restaurant, The Tidal Room provides the perfect solace away from the bustle of The Lanes in lively Brighton. The walls of The Tidal Room are adorned with colourful vintage prints and locally referenced artwork inspired by the heritage of The Royal Pavilion and the origin of Brighton as a fishing village. The bespoke patterned white Carrara and grey Fior di Pesco grey marble tiled flooring, eclectic mix of vintage dining chairs, and antiqued bevelled mirror panels add a touch of glamour to the room.
A treat for our parents. Ambience great. Staff pleasant and attentive. Food really quite average in comparison. The overall rating a 3 only due to the ambience and staff. The food was notable by its mediocrity.
Great evening, memorable... thoroughly recommend. Faultless
We had a lovely evening, with delicious food and excellent service from charming staff.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! The music was a bit loud but the music was very good.
Lovely wine and cocktails. Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were perfectly attentive! Would go again.
Overpriced, mediocre food and service but stunning interior. Wouldn't go back other than perhaps for a quick cocktail at the bar and certainly wouldn't recommend to eat here. For the reputation they're trading on this was a disappointing experience. I had high hopes, to be fair my friends eating meat were happy with their meals so perhaps it's just the vegetarian/ vegan food that's entirely lack-luster. Putting a few micro herbs on a dish that doesn't taste any better than some microwave meals I've had didn't come close to justifying the price and the service was the opposite of attentive, to the extent that if I hadn't thought we'd probably be left there ignored for another period of time I'd have argued the service charge being automatically applied.
We had a wonderful meal here for my husband's 60th birthday . He was blown away.
Felt too cramped between tables. The food was a bit tasteless but maybe down to my choice of food. The toilets were beautifully decorated.
Lovely experience. Had a great time at the ivy. Will definitely recommend
Really nice. Booked in for lunch and dinner on separate occasions
Great as usual service was exceptional
Fantastic cocktails, food & service. The candy floss cocktails and prawn cocktail must be tried
Great food and friendly service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant
Very nice, we always enjoy our visits to the Ivy, been to Bath, St Albans and now Brighton.
Staff friendly, food great, ambience/surroundings are wonderful. Highly recommended.
Excellent comprehensive menu choices. The venue is lovely.
Beautiful decor, fabulous food and wonderful service. Highly recommend!
Had a Anniversary meal here and it was amazing, food and drink was spot on the service was excellent as well, I would highly recommend it
Unfortunately my mother was very poorly all through the night and the next day following our dinner. It was most likely the crab. Such a shame, we spent £160, I don't think she'd like to eat here again.
Great atmosphere, great decor, great service and (pleasant surprise after some reports received!) great food - we couldn't have had a better evening.
Went with my Mum before a concert and the food was amazing and you really get what you pay for, service was excellent, outstanding and beautiful.
The atmosphere is incredible. The design is great. It’s not exactly amazing for the food but it’s worth it for the experience
Are table was in an unfortunate location, everyone passed us going in and out, would prefer different table if visited again. The seating staff (lady) needed to smile and interact in a friendly way. The service for both cocktails and special coffees was slow. Hand cream in the ladies powder room should be available.
Very enjoyable cream tea. Delicious food and tea in lovely surroundings. Attentive service.
First visit with friends for Champagne Afternoon Tea. Great atmosphere and service. Very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
superb restaurant, excellent service, food and atmosphere. Will be going again soon!
Everything was fantastic especially the decor and the ladies toilets!
Service was quite slow but , when my daughter spilt her Belini just after she got it, the waitress replaced it free of charge which was lovely!
Food was delicious although the starters were quite expensive.
The dining room was beautiful, visually stunning + impressive.
Had a lovely meal to celebrate our third anniversary. Great cocktails, tasty food, yummy dessert. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The decor is great. Will definitely go back.
It was my Husbands 50th birthday and we had the best time from beginning to end. Sevice was perfect and the food outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The decore and the ladies toilets where an added bonus. Pure class. Well done.
Fabulous as ever ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Ivy never disappoints from the wonderful welcome to the last goodbye
Fabulous experience celebrating our silver wedding anniversary there on Tuesday night. Our meal was amazing as was the service..
Went for a Birthday lunch with my Mum and it was wonderful. Carmen our waitress was very attentive, the food was delicious and the cocktails yummy. Can not wait to go back!
Really nicely done with excellent service, a good menu and wine list and good space between tables. Great environment for any occasion
Lovely surroundings but the food was overcooked and disappointing.
It was a shame that, although the waiting staff were very professional and efficient, they held back from fully engaging with us as customers. Had they done so, they would have found out we were celebrating my wife’s birthday. It wasn’t a problem but it may we’ll have made the difference between a great experience and a truly memorable one. Things could be slightly less routine and formal, and the staff more relaxed/smiley. Otherwise top notch.
Took my parents to The Ivy as treat on the last night before they returned to South Africa. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The service, the food and the whole experience was totally amazing. It was a great way for them end a once in lifetime holiday. I will definitely be going back to celebrate other special occasions. Highly recommended.
My daughter took me here recently to treat me to the legendary shepherds pie, courtesy of her first pay packet in her first 'proper' job. The pie lived up to its reputation. I then returned the compliment and took her there for her birthday. Delicious classic good, lovely surroundings, good service, good atmosphere, reasonable prices for the quality. Will definitely go again.
Why is the restuarant so reluctant and unreliable in providing a copy of the bill when requested
It’s a lovely place but the quality of service is erratic. The staff come across as quite insincere . However food is very good.
