Honestly the best part was the cocktails. The waiter couldnt advised my coeliac friend of what she could have on the menu, he said "I cant tell you what is gluten free, you tell me what you want and I will see if we can do it." Not helpful when the menu is extremely large. He then went on to advise the cocktail she ordered had gluten in it and that it was the gin because it was made from wheat. The food was very basic, greasy, and tasteless. It would be much better if the menu was smaller. We then ordered truffles for dessert with cocktails, they were the smallest balls of chocolate you could imagine just plonked on a dish. No Hawksmore, that's for sure!

Real shame, the Ivy should be an excellent experience, it was a huge flop!

Wonderful food, fabulous service and great atmosphere. Music was a little loud for me and not to my taste, but it didn’t spoil the meal.

Vibrant atmosphere, attentive service though one of our dishes had to go back as not hot. The music got a little loud for me after 6 when they seemed to turn it up and the toilets could have been much cleaner, bins overflowing, 2 very dirty toilets, not to be expected in a restaurant of this standard. Food and drinks good and good value on special menu.

Took my sister-in-law for her birthday to a late dinner on a busy Friday afternoon. Although busy the service was very good ,the atmosphere was lively and the food was good. We both had a lovely time and I would definitely return for another special occasion as it is it a lovely experience eating here.

While visiting Brighton I looked for an Ivy. It is in the Lanes. My dinner guests we’re wowed by the place. Attentive staff and the food is five star. Cocktails added to the ambience. We all agreed that it was the perfect end to our mini break. When we return to Brighton we will return to The Ivy.

Return visit for set lunch which always seems to be just enough - much easier than having too much choice. My only criticism was that our main was served before we had finished our 'nibbles' but fortunately it wasn't too much of a problem due to it being OK alongside the main.

The perfect place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
Lovely atmosphere and it’s a great excuse to get dressed up.
Food is good/average but I would recommend the restaurant as it’s just a lovely place to people watch and enjoy the decoration as it is a very flamboyant and stylish.

First time at the Ivy & went for the 2 course set menu which was more than enough at lunch time. The food was really nice except for my steak which was a little disappointing so I left half of the meat.
The decor was colourful & art & service was friendly & professional. No outside space or garden unfortunately

Visited for my daughters 21st Birthday. Everything was wonderful, food, drinks, service, décor. Only question how some people were dressed (sport shorts & trainers) and young children (throwing crayons and food on the floor) but this didn't spoil our afternoon. We will definitely be back! Thank you to our waitress who was more than happy to take family photos for us.

The waitress lost part of our order, it was never delivered. She apologized for it, but offered no compensation. Between the four of us the food range was from Ok to pretty good, with the chicken salad and risotto barely making it to ok, and the shrimp and monkfish was pretty good. Expected far more than this actually

We’ve been before a few times and the experience was amazing. This time the service was poor the food was ok and the value for money was bad. Think we’d of got better service in a restaurant around the corner.

Have visited the Ivy a few times now and always staff and food is excellent. The only down side for me is that the music is too loud, last Saturday I was with my Mum who is hard of hearing so it was a case of repeating my conversation twice. When I meet a particular friend of mine from work to catch up, who struggles with hearing, sadly we have stopped going to the Ivy again because of the music level. But other than that the experience is great.

I would recommend the Ivy but must make the following points.
Service slow
Drinks served after meal had arrived
Food description staff not fully trained
Constantly having to ask for drinks order
Although restaurant not full it appears very noisy and organised
London was my first experience and I have been on several occasions especially after refurbishment, staff are on another level, very professional and experienced.

Service was slick once the table was made ready .Slight irritants, asked for tap water eventually had to ask again some 10 minutes later. then when i received the bill i had been billed for a bottle of mineral water apart from that no further problems decor very similar to their Brasserie in Soho, atmospere is excellent.

Reasonable prices for standard food. A beautiful space, but unnecessary loud DJ at lunch and average service. Not the same experience as the Ivy brand in London.
