Been 3 times now and really given them the chance to improve but this time was the worst!
Bad service, burnt food which arrived late and we had to ask if it was coming twice.
Someone was served before us that arrived after us.
I am a regular at West st London and Richmond branch. Brighton branch is very poor and staff are just not trained as one would expect from the ivy/ Caprice holdings.

Won’t be back now as this has happened 3 times.

Food was not great and for the price, you can get a lot better at Brighton. My main meal was special of the day (fish pie). It was really a fish soup. I had to ask for a spoon.
When the waitress collected the plates, I asked her if she wanted to know how the food was, as she never asked! Also we were served by 4 different people during the courses. The service was efficient but not personal.

We took my parents there for the first time. My husband and father both ordered the same bit of steak. One was much bigger and thicker then the other. The waitress said she was going to check but never came back. You could clearly see they was not the same. Also she asked if the wanted sauce with their meal but didn't say it was 2.75 extra. Both bits of steak was not cooked how they were asked and the chips were burnt. Really bad as the steak is expensive and comes on its own.

Went with the family for a late breakfast before Christmas Shopping, great menu, we wanted to book lunch but was full (Next Time!!) So we had great breakfast, complimentary second coffees which was a nice touch. Waiter service very attentive. Venue and decor was lovely, not to noisy just very relaxed and we all enjoyed our Ivy In the Lanes experience. Will definately be back to try Lunch and dinner some time soon!!

I and my family are accustomed to the best things in life. We travel extensively and are regular 6* cruisers. We found the Ivy to be excellent. Yes, it was a little noisy but compared to 90% of other restaurants, it was considerably easier on the ear than most and we had little trouble in conversing, which is most unusual and highly appreciated.
Please, please, keep up the standard. Brighton has a new ‘gem’.
Let’s keep it that way.
Good food.
Excellent service.
And perhaps the best decor and atmosphere in the south east.

Very good food and atmosphere. Ordered bread and olives as a starter, bread arrived about a minute before our main course, olives arrived while we were eating our shepherds pie! I had already cancelled them. All felt a bit rushed. Waitress started to refill our wine glasses with somebody else’s wine. Definite lack of attention to detail, second time I have had this slightly hap hazard experience at the Brighton Ivy.

We went to eat here on Saturday evening for a birthday celebration. The restaurant environment is lovely and has a great atmosphere. Our table was in a nice spot too. We had cocktails which were ok, not amazing, just ok. The food was average, nothing amazing, a bit disappointing to be honest. The waiter was a bit aloof and not attentive, he knocked a full glass of wine over which landed in my lap soaking some of the table cloth and my clothes. He apologised and then... nothing. We had to suggest to him that he change the table cloth as he was just going to leave it on the table wet and continue to serve our food. No offer of any dry cleaning for my jacket, no replacement of lost wine or a couple of drinks on the house, pretty unsatisfactory. It didn't feel like nothing was too much trouble, it just felt that they didn't care about their customers. Probably will not return or recommend to friends.

Could not find fault with the food at all , presentation taste or portion size , the front of house where really helpful it was just our waitress that let us down really uninterested and was made to feel as though everything was a big ask , couple of ladies opposite us where just ordering drinks being quite rowdy and why not sit at the bar if you only plan on drinking ??
Then when the bill came we had been charged for 2 bottles of water one of which was unopened and it wasn’t made clear that the water wasn’t complimentary.
All in all a very lovely evening just a few little bits need improvement for the money being spent

Ordered afternoon tea. The sandwiches were stale and tasteless. We couldn't work out what was meant to be in the brioche bun. The Earl Grey was bland and I had to ask for lemon to go with it. Fantastic decor but disappointed it fell so far short of our expectations

Firstly our waiter ordered us the wrong starter, and secondly he forgot to order our drinks at the bar so we had our starter before drinks arrived. He did take them off the bill, but I've had better service in less respectable restaurants. Not sure I would return.

Great venue - decor to die for - loos are a real showstopper and a whole reason to go on their own. Unfortunately there was a really rowdy group of people in when we visited having brunch - shame the staff didn’t ask them to tone it down a bit. But the actual venue and food - spot on

Great ambiance, lovely atmosphere, excellent food and outstanding cocktails. Waitress was perfect but felt let down by 3 front of house staff who didn’t welcome us on arrival, just continued to chat to each other and then forgot about us sitting at the bar so we had to remind them we had pre booked and were waiting for our table. Lots of visible tattoos on front of house staff is not ideal either.

I love the Ivy in Brighton - it’s such a beautiful room, colourful, sparkly and glamorous and the service was really excellent and friendly. The food however, was a disappointment this time. Two of us had steaks - a ribeye and a fillet. The ribeye was extremely fatty (I know it’s meant to have more fat than other cuts, I eat it often, never had anything as greasy and unpalatable as this, oozing fat in every bite). The fillet just tasted inexplicably unpleasant. So disappointed as we’d taken friends as a treat/surprise.

This is our second visit, we love the food, the ambience and the cocktails. We were let down on the service this visit. Our first table had a cold air fan blowing behind it, we were moved but the next couple who sat down swiftly exchanged seats and kept a jacket on. We were not offered the Xmas cocktail menu available. Our nuts were flung on our table, our food was cleared in haste and unfinished food tried to be taken. Took ages to get the waiters attention for the bill. It wasn’t the experience we had hoped for this time.
