The Ivy in the Lanes
Lovely evening for my girlfriends birthday, would definitely go again
It`s always an enjoyable experience dining at The Ivy, but because of the virus there were very few tables occupied and it does make a difference to the ambiance. I will repeat what I`ve said in previous reviews, I do wish the menu would change, it gets very boring and predictable.
Very polite & attentive staff
Even though disappointed with my main dish, I do intend to return to try a different dish !!
Amazing ambiance, beautiful food. Would recommend to anyone celebrating or who fancies a nice meal out!
lovely restaurant, nice quirky decor. Would go back. Service was really good and friendly. Food was very nice, only small issue was its a little pricey but you get what you pay for as they say.
Could not fault anything .........................
Always great service and atmosphere at The Ivy
Have been many times and always had a good experience.. perfect for a special meal out
Had a great afternoon lunch. Service was fantastic and attentive.
Staff were fabulous as was thd food and atmosphere. Thank you to Raquel who served us
As always a master experience! An everything was as we expected!
Delicious food to celebrate a family birthday. Excellent service and not rushed at all in unique surroundings. Very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely come again.
Aesthetically a great place for lunch, very good customer service but the food was slow and disappointing.
Well this was a shambles the worst birthday ever followed by two attempts to do happy birthday - both failed with Congratulations on the cake Then the waiter was extremely rude to my table saying we u see paid RUDE and bad food :-( no remorse for my bday bokked two tables near each other you would of had to catch a bus
I've been to the Ivy in the Lanes now 4 times and every time I've thought the same thing... lovely food, beautiful setting, wonderful service.. but it's spoilt for me by the music. I think it may be because I've only been there on a Saturday evening and the music seems to be very 'clubby' and just too loud. It's really not in keeping with the restaurant at all which is such a shame. I'm not sure I'd return again on a Saturday night as I find each time I go I'm more annoyed by the music.. such a shame because otherwise it's lovely. In fact our whole table of 8 agreed we all enjoyed the music in the toilets far more!!
This was my first visit to the Ivy of which I thoroughly enjoyed, the food was delicious and came out quickly. Really enjoyed the service and atmosphere of the restaurant. Only down fault was as soon as we paid to be told can we please leave as they need the table which I found quite rude and that the man was very arrogant, after spending £100 I would have appreciated time to let my food go down and finish my conversation with my family.
Lovely restaurant with a good atmosphere, food Delicious and served well x
Food and service was Amazing but there was a DJ that was playing unnecessary loud music, it’s a restaurant not a night club, had to shout over the table and because of that everyone else was and it just turns into a load noise of people shouting!
It’s fine dining restaurant and a DJ is just out of character and doesn’t fit in at all
Amazing food and atmosphere and the staff were so attentive and welcoming.
Such a lovely afternoon tea - delicious food for everyone at our table and generous portions. If you would like a quieter experience I can suggest the Tidal Room - it was a smaller room at the back with only about 4 tables in. Stunning room but less intense, busy and noisy which was perfect as we had 2 children with us. But if you like people watching and the ambience of the DJ then stick with the main area! Wonderful time, we can’t wait to come back!
The table was not ready at my arrival.
The menu was like a pub menu, poor and simple not for lunch.
The service was good.
The music was loud and everybody was and needs to shout.
The bill was expensive for the pub food.
The restaurant overall is disappointed is just the name, no about the quality of food and menu.
Always a lovely delicious elegant lunch, the staff are so friendly and welcoming
Great service and atmosphere. Food a little underwhelming.
We like the ambiance and the Service but the food was bland.
Service was incredibly slow... If, as an establishment, you choose to keep the wine away from the table, please also ensure you're attentive enough to notice when glasses are empty. Twice I had to ask for more wine to be poured. We had 1/2 bottle left when we'd finished our main courses.
Generally the service was slow on all accounts and not what I'd expect from an above average costing restaurant.
Lovely, busy restaurant. Food was perfect!Service was excellent
Excellent hospitality, quality food well presented, attentive staff, great ambience and value for money.
We had the most delightful lunch on Friday. As three hard-working mums it was a real treat to be looked after beautifully, the food was delicious (the shepherd pie was fab). Uninterrupted conversation in such a gorgeous setting was an absolute tonic. Thank you Brighton Ivy :-)
Took my partner to The Ivy for his birthday. We had a lovely evening, attentive staff, gorgeous food, great ambiance apart from the music which all we could hear was the bass, so sounded a bit clubby that didnt really go. Went downstairs to toilets, which are gorgeous and had some nice jazz piped through which lent it self better, but enough about the music, we loved it and will be back.
Food was very enjoyable staff were excellent enjoy the experience very much
Excellent venue for afternoon tea. Very crowded and quite noisy but the food was good. I would have given a 5-star report but disappointed about leaving my sunglasses behind which weren't recovered. Staff were pleasant enough though when I returned to see if they had been handed in.
A lovely experience. My wife and I walked out with a smile on our face.
Wonderful lunch and always enjoy every visit , food was excellent and staff were great as always
Fries was kind of frozen fries , and it was cold.
Nice atmosphere but average food.
Lovely venue and great décor. Service was excellent. Had mixed quality of food - duck, pork and halloumi were great but burger and fish were slightly overcooked.
Really good food. Arrived early but did not get shown to table until 5 minutes after booked time although the restaurant was empty. Found this strange.
Pretty good all round a nice experience good food good service good vibe we, go again
My husband brought me for my big birthday .it was my first visit and didn’t disappoint . Exceptional . Can’t wait to return
The menu was a lot more limited than has been previously, with a large proportion of dishes being salmon or seafood. One of the specials was unavailable even though it was only 11:45am. The non-alcoholic cocktail we had was much smaller than usual but still at £5 so seems very overpriced. As someone who cooks a lot I found some of the pricing to be quite extreme- I had the fishcake which was mostly potato. It's true that you pay for the experience but the food HAS to justify paying £100 for a lunch for two. The crispy duck salad was perfect.
Consistently good food, courgette chips are a winner with everyone!
The Ivy in the lanes it’s a very beautiful restaurant with very tasty food and great service. We went there for my husbands birthday lunch and they even gave him a little cake with a candle.
