The Ivy in the Lanes
Really lovely. Little treat given for our anniversary. Only issue was waiting too long for drinks :-(
Always a lovely treat ...
Lovely service in a great setting
Delicious food and great service. Just disappointed that a table near us were using their phones very loudly.
If you are hoping to be made to feel special or going to the Ivy for a special occasion, I wouldn’t bother.
Our welcome to the restaurant was pleasant enough. Environment is beautiful. Food was nice. But service at the table was brisk to the point of rudeness. Almost felt as though the waiter was doing us a favour by serving us.
It all felt very rushed and no pleasantries were exchanged at all. The starters were whisked away and we were not asked at any point if we had enjoyed the food.
We were asked howeve if we would like desert, to which we replied that we didn’t. Immediately afterwards desert menus were shoved on to our table.
This was a Monday night so I dread to think what it would be like at a busy weekend.
At the end of the meal we asked for staff to call us a taxi. We sat at our table for a long time just waiting. No one came back to us to confirm it was on the way. We eventually went to the front reception to be told the taxi had arrived and left, as no one had bothered to tell us it was outside.
For an establishment of this calibre all in all a very disappointing experience.
Beautiful looking restaurant. Food average and quite small portions.
The food was incredible and table service was perfect. Our only minor niggle was that our table wasnt ready when we arrived so we were asked to get a drink at the bar whilst waiting. However, we sat at the bar for a good 10/15 minutes and not once did we get asked for our drink order. Other than that, a perfect evening was had!
The extra precautions made us feel very comfortable . The food and ambiance were fine and our server Ludmilla was excellant and helped make it a memorable evening.
Was not prepared people queued outside table not ready. Poor girl serving on her own. Been before been much better. This night was really poor for £80 odd quod
Am excellent event - I would have preferred to be seated at the window end of the restaurant but as we were
just three to eat you were unable to
Enable that. This was explained to us
so I understood .
The hand saniteser was fantastic. Food and service top class
Could not fault the food and the atmosphere especially for a Monday evening! We did however feel that a particular waiter was very rude and really set a bad tone for the meal. Even when taking our order he was acting like we were not worth serving which was a real shame. The other staff however, could not have been any nicer. Such a shame that one person had to let the whole team down
Fantastic food, so lovely and accommodating as one of our party is lactose intolerant
Fabulous cocktails and food , expensive but worth it for a special occasion. Cool vibe and place .
We had the Champagne Afternoon Tea which is outstanding value at £28.50. My only minor niggle is that the table for two is barely big enough to accomodate the tea and was very cramped.
Every visit has been superb, staff, food and ambience.
Very noisy when clearing plates from table. Water supplied although told we didn't want any.
The food and service were excellent. The soundings perfect for a wonderful afternoon indulgence.
Always a real treat going to The Ivy. Love the funky decor, service is always attentive and the food is outstanding.
We can rely on a visit to The Ivy for a great choice of meals and drinks. A welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with knowledgable and attentive staff. Love the cocktail bar although we end up having too many 😂
Loved the decor. Great service. Will definitely be back!
Lovely place and nice atmosphere. Great staff and tasty food.
Not overally happy with the seating area.
It was fabulous. My only criticism would be that the lighting was so lie we couldn’t read the menu.
We had to wait bit longer than usual for a bottle of wine. The food was good, I had a cod fillet, just bit too salty and smoked flavour for me, but the rest was excellent
Very beautiful and well decorated place. Good service on a Saturday night, felt a bit rushed though but we knew we had to leave just a bit before 10pm.
I’ve been to two other Ivy’s and Brighton’s restaurant by far tops the other two. This was for a very belated 40th present from my friends. My husband & I loved the food. The staff were very friendly.
When we are next in Brighton we will be back for sure
Wonderful ambiance, vibrant and welcoming. Staff were friendly, polite, attentive and helpful. Food was delicious and throughly enjoyed. Would recommend to anyone.
My daughter persuaded me to book this for her birthday celebration and what a great choice it was. Food was superb and the staff very attentive. The place was busy with a nice vibe, lots of families there so you can take the kids and not feel out of place but plenty of grown ups too so so you'd not be overrun with kids if that's not your thing.
Definitely going back
Service was good and it felt that little bit more special than just an ordinary restaurant
Interesting menu, high quality food, very well prepared, and well served. Attentive staff, but not intrusive.
A bright evening out in gloomy times!
The Gluten Free afternoon tea was great but would have been nice to have a mini sponge cake.
The service was slow and we had to repeatedly ask for the drinks we ordered, we was also overcharged! They removed the extra charge and service charge but there was no apology.
My birthday annual treat with my bestie!
Great food, great service, great decor.
A totally great experience in every way. Beautiful surroundings, amazing food, excellent service and good value for such an exceptional and memorable meal. Many thanks!
The way the Ivy handles Covid restrictions is very good and does not diminish the experience. Just a shame not to be able to have a pre dinner cocktail at the bar.
No complaints about anything. We loved everything about our first experience at The Ivy. Will definitely be back
Fantastic service. Fantastic food. Fantastic atmosphere.
Average experience .The environment is stunning and I had high expectations about the food too but it was too average .
Super tasty food! Had a very fancy feel and staff were really friendly. Beautifully decorated toilets.
