   Never been to any Ivy restaurant before. Booked a hotel in Brighton, close by, The Charm, excellent by the way! The whole Ivy experience was fantastic. Included was a lovely birthday surprise for my partner, totally unexpected! Will definitely return & highly recommend!

   Amazing experience as always in Brighton Ivy! All the team were so welcoming, friendly, prompt and personal. We had our year anniversary and they surprised us with an anniversary cake. The food is fantastic!

   As ever with the Ivy, the food was lovely and the service faultless. My only criticism of this venue is the acoustics are poor so chatter is loud. That and the music was being piped in to the restaurant at a loud level made having conversation at the table very difficult. Shame as it rather spoilt the dinner.

   We love coming to the Ivy. We come there a lot! We always enjoy the service, the food is delicious and we like the atmosphere and the decor. I would like to bring one thing to your attention there which I feel is a negative. I wouldn’t normally say anything, but on this occasion I feel it is worth noting. It is such a big room, with lots of chatting and noise that exists without any background music. To add a DJ into the mix was just completely unnecessary. All we could hear was the persistent bass, we couldn’t work out what the tune was, and it made our conversation very difficult to hear. We found ourselves shouting over the plethora of noise.The music however in the toilet was fantastic ha ha! As a customer we would much prefer to listen to this rather than an ongoing bass beat which was irritating rather than enjoyable. Please be reassured that we will still be coming back to the Ivy over and over again as we love it so much. I just felt that it was worth telling you about. Hope you’re not offended!

    Service wasn't great - waited a long time for a bottle of sparkling water, even longer for two glasses of wine - waiter turned up with two bottles of wine! - food arrived before water or wine. Food was good except for chips - cold, thought, more or less inedible. The waiter did give us two free coffees in compensation.

    Lovely atmosphere and beautiful decor. Service good. Steak tartare delicious. Cocktails delicious. Sadly thé brioche bun on the burger had caught and was charred. The burger was dry. Shouldn’t have not been acknowledged by waitress. Saved by mayonnaise. Otherwise would have been a 5 star experience all round.

    Sadly the music being unbearable loud put a big damper on the whole Ivy experience. Around us people were complaining about the above, but on request to turn the music down nothing was done. The Restuarant had a 1930’s come Miami feel, but due to the loud music sank below a local cafe experience. The food, wine and service was nice not 5 star, but about right for the price we paid. Might be a good idea to ditch the DJ!!!!

    Had a lovely meal but did think music too loud and jarring. The bass was vibrating which made it impossible to relax fully. If that had been toned down then I think the evening would have been perfect/

    We had a few issues while visiting your restaurant: 1) We had outside seating but wasn’t offered blankets or to put the heaters on until we requested them even though we had asked if there was an inside table available as it was chilly 2) After our drinks order was taken (for 4 of us), a waitress came to our table with 3 drinks! When we explained that we had ordered a bottle of wine and not one glass, she apologised and went away. It then took 15 minutes to bring our bottle of wine to us and only when we brought it to our waitresses attention. She brought the wine and poured two glasses then took the bottle away! I noticed that some tables had a wine cooler by their table so I requested one, which the waitress brought to us but minus the bottle! When I told her, she then went to get the bottle. 3) We waited 45 minutes for our main meal so when we brought to the attention of the waitress, she went away to check and the manager came and apologised and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine (which only two of us was drinking). Whilst we appreciated this, I suffer from diabetes and if I hadn’t had a starter, I would have been ill. Although I have outlined the above, we do need to say that the food was excellent.

    Sat afternoon and place was packed! Noise levels very high….atmosphere was more buzzing than relaxing ?! Drinks slow to arrive but that was due to a packed restaurant not inefficiency. Cocktails perfect….food delicious! Prices high…. But as a treat, we all enjoyed it very much…😃

    We had an outside table, on the street which was ok. Service was slow and waiter was forgetful of some items like wine, ice but he was very busy! 2 members of staff stood next to us whilst we were eating moaning about how busy/short staffed they were. Food was lovely, prices good and I would go back but probably wouldn’t choose a table on the street.

    Fabulous location. Excellent food. Attentive waiters. Extremely slow service for drinks. Too many tables crammed in led to excessive noise level which made communication with waiting staff and ourselves challenging.

    The time will come when The Ivy stop playing on its name and give value for money. It felt as if they’ve heard the complaints so often they’ve stopped listening. Food was beyond poor, service, what service. I blame a poor management as the staff were lovely but overworked and probably not supported. If this was a well run restaurant, we all know problems occur, there is no backup plan for the customer or the staff. An immediate apology, a drink on the house perhaps but here I felt they’ve seen it so many times that if you walk another fool will be coming along behind you and pay over the odds just to say they’ve eaten at The Ivy. Very very disappointing

    We had a lovely time yesterday although we had booked for breakfast we were given the brunch menu. One of our party was in a wheelchair and we had the ramp access put up for us which was very kind. The music was very loud as there was a DJ which made it difficult to talk amongst ourselves. Apart from that the food and service was excellent and very reasonably priced.

    Service poor, waited far too long for a drink. Very loud, can't have a conversation with the person directly opposite you. Table too small, could just about fit all plates. Overrated and overpriced for what you get. Will not be returning.

    A great place to eat......all the ingredients of a great evening out, great food, excellent service and a real vibe to the place. We came here just after it first opened and that was a good night, but last night our experience was honestly better, praise indeed for a resturant, too often the initial energy and vibe of opening a new resturant dulls to a mediocre offering trading heavily on the name. Not so The Ivy in Lanes......it has actually got better. Will we go back......easy answer absolutely! Hope you enjoy!
