The Ivy in the Lanes
The vegan menu is really good. Lots of choices. Wonderful place.
Third visit in four months for us (we’re London based). Loved it as usual- only negatives were somewhat soggy courgette fritti and basic cheeseboard. Steaks were stunning and done perfectly blue. Service impeccable as usual- we stayed a bit past our allocated slot and were asked very politely to move! Definitely will return.
Amazing food … as usual!
Enjoyed a fabulous meal out for my sons birthday and the food and service was smashing, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food, and the setting is beautiful
Devine, perfect pre-theatre dinner, great location, awesome food and moreish cocktails!
Had a great family meal.at the end of a shopping trip. Turned up with all our bags and getting us sorted and seated was easy work for the ivy . We alter d our table and they accmadated this arrived early but nothing was any trouble. I hope to return here again when I next go to Brighton.
I would expect more options for the afternoon tea! But it was good overall
We went for afternoon tea which was very nice, however the gluten free option was a little lacklustre compared to the standard afternoon tea. The staff were polite and attentive without being overbearing.
Amazing. Staff lovely. Food and drink amazing.
Little loud though.
Best afternoon tea in Brighton for value, quality and service
What a treat this is . Fabulous food . Great service . Wonderful setting . Great atmosphere . Highly recommemded and we will return again next time we visit Brighton .
We were there for Afternoon tea. +Food was alright. Scones too sweet.
+Nice tea options.
- Very loud music, hard to have a conversation.
- It says dress code - smart casual, but looks like if you are happy to pay wear whatever you want.
-Some staff could be friendlier.
My daughters chicken wasn’t cooked, had to be sent back and replaced, and we were still charged for the dish, she could of been really ill , even the Waiter said it was a fault in the kitchen.
main courses turned up seconds after starter nibbles had arrived . had to send them back until we had funished starters . when main meals returned they were very nice , they would have been even better if the side dishes we ordered had arrived . By the time we could ask our waiter about them we were almost finished our mains and did not want to wait for these dishes to arrive . Also the background music , whilst very good , was slightly too loud so that everyone had to talk to their dining companions quite loudly .
Had a lovely afternoon at The Ivy on Sunday for my mums birthday all the staff and food was excellent.
Lovely staff are lovely food lovely atmosphere thank you
Very good. Waiter was a little off but I understand that wait staff have a tough job!
Always a special atmosphere
Amazing as always! Great food, great service!
Fabulous evening with girlfriends! Great atmosphere, service was excellent. Food really good!!
I booked The Ivy as a special treat for my daughters 30th as she had always wanted to go there.
Having read some of the reviews online, I was actually dreading it as there was a lot of criticism about it. However, I was pleasantly surprised because it turned out to be a lovely experience.
The staff were really helpful and friendly, the food great and the ambience just right. The price is a little high but that won't put me off going back there.
I appreciate that not everyone has the same experience, but I'd suggest that you don't believe everything you read on social media as I would personally recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.
fabulous restaurant,No 1 in Brighton, everything superb, every aspect is catered for welcoming, staff, wonderful food, can't wait to go back.
Amazing from start to finish friendly very helpful staff food was delicious couldn’t fault the experience at all
Staff friendly but a bit slow service. Very loud in there. But food was lovely.
We had the afternoon tea. I couldn’t eat all the fillings due to being pregnant and got a cheese (no butter) and ham crumbs (no butter) substitute. Was very poor quality.
Wasn’t worth the money at all,
Very loud music inside and was very full inside. Put in a corner so rubbish view, staff friendly though
The perfect treat for my 50th birthday with my 2 adult children. The champagne afternoon tea was amazing. My sons burger looked
Mouthwatering! A trip to the loo was worth the money for the lunch! Just an amazing atmosphere, I’ve been to the Savoy for cream tea and this far better and cheaper! Recommend for a special occasion.
Beautiful surroundings, amazing food and wonderful staff
Brilliant service and food with great atmosphere.
Service was amazing …. Food average ! Squid batter was pretty soggy and tiny bones in the duck curry…. However not so bad that we wouldn’t go back !
Had brunch menu. Food excellent, waiter was really good and funny. Only complaint was the music level, much too loud to enjoy conversation. Even the waiter had trouble hearing us. Shame because the ambiance of the restaurant is great. Would we recommend, only if you like loud music.
Went for Brunch with some friends. Food was lovely and good value for money,
Service was attentive and nothing too much trouble.
Perfect birthday brunch with my friend, great first time for me dining here and loved it. One cool poached egg didn’t put me off (as we arrived at 2 mins to 11am cut off). I will definitely be back! Thank you all.
Great place to go
Atmosphere is very buzzy
Food always great
Maybe only small negative is closeness to other diners
Perhaps ask for a table or booth to yourself if you want privacy but otherwise superb overall
Salmon was over cooked even asked for pink. Extremely oily. It wasn't what I expected from a restaurant this quality and the price I paid. Very disappointed
Service was great but very noisy.
Not sure why we have to have a loud music on in this country in a restaurant.
A music in the background is lovely but a loud music in a restaurant is annoying. Most of people go out to a restaurant to catch up with friends and it would be nice if could actually hear what they are saying.
Had a fabulous evening celebrating friends birthday, very special very enjoyable
My sister in law had the blackened cod which was delicious! Upgrade your chips to Parmesan and truffle is a must! Cocktails are amazing
Wonderful experience, could not fault service and food.
Birthday meal ahead of a concert at Brighton Centre
The food was not very hot
I had fish ales and sweet potato fries and they were only warm
Was very noisy
Could hardly hear each other talk
