The Ivy in the Lanes
Enjoyed another wonderful lunch at The Ivy in Brighton. Our waiter Julian was very attentive and friendly. The decor and ambiance of the place is lovely. Our table was perfect - we were given a corner table for 2 in the main restaurant. The food and drinks arrived promptly, at just the right pace. Nothing could be better.
The Ivy is my go-to restaurant in Brighton, especially when taking my female friends out to lunch when they visit from London.
Excellent service, however food was ok I have been to the Ivy city garden on several occasions the quality of the food was much better.
Lovely staff, very attentive! Delicious food! Very good cocktails!
The service was excellent and the food very good overall. The wines were obscenely expensive, £38 or so for a very ordinary soave. But the ambience was annoying and took the edge off everything else -- very hot and suffocatingly stuffy, but even more, the music maddeningly loud and pointless, made it hard to hear what anybody else saying. What was it for? Just spoilt things for us.
We had a great time at The Ivy last night: we were treated so well, the food was Delicious the ambience/vibe of the restaurant was fantastic we loved it!
Lovely food, great Service, me and my friends had fantastic experience. Highly recommended 👌 👍.
Staff are absolutely excellent
Venue is stunning
We had a group of very loud men turn up at end but this isn’t the restaurants fault and if I wasn’t leaving I would have asked to be moved.. it is large so it doesn’t feel noisy otherwise
Ladies loos are beautiful!!!
It smells gorgeous as you go down the stairs too:l
I was driving so gutted I didn’t get to try the cocktail.
Can’t wait to go back!
It was a very pleasant experience, friendly and efficient staff and overall very nice dining experience
Fabulous lunch, shame about the very loud two girls pointing and laughing at the customers as they passed. Otherwise great time.
First time with my wife for her birthday. Really enjoyed. Doughnut with candle was a nice touch.
As ever with the Ivy the experience was excellent, the room is beautiful and the service was first class . A great address in Brighton
Fab service which really made our night. Food always good. Cocktails always amazing.
Pleasant food, beautiful decor
Very busy for a week night
The Ivy Brighton is all about vivid colours, Bohemian style and finesse. The decor is so sumptuous that you want to linger much longer than your meal. Love the food options, everything is delectable. Make sure to dress up for the occasion and take photos as the gorgeous interior design in every direction makes for the perfect backdrop.
Everything was amazing, loved every bit of it. The staff were so kind and my partner enjoyed his surprise birthday.
Thank you so much!!!
First time to the Ivy and we were so impressed with the service and food. It seems nothing was too much trouble and will definitely be booking again next time we are in Brighton.
Absolutely beautiful place to eat, ambience is great, service good and food is lovely
1st visit and was really looking forward to it. Horrified by how close tables were to each other. Found I could hear conversations on those tables rather than my own. I had the salmon special….not very special. Not really how it was described. Paid a lot for a desert cocktail and it was tiny it was gone before coffees arrived. Rest of my table felt their food was average at best. Very disappointed and very expensive night.
Service was excellent
Great service and atmosphere
Quick pre theatre dinner. Excellent service and food.
Prompt service, good food, comfortable spacious seating. Lively ambiance. Very enjoyable afternoon.
Good food very slack service AND room temperature white wine! Our waiter seemed very bored with us. If I hadn’t been treating two friends to lunch I would have queried the service charge.
Wonderful environment and excellent service. One really felt welcomed!
Absolutely lovely brunch and service! The food was outstanding and so was the service! Our server Isabel was brilliant!
Amazing place with lovely staff members. They will make you feel special
Food great and service excellent as always at all Ivy locations only negative two loud young ladies who think that everyone is interested in their inane comments and loud laughter
We actually got to the Ivy on our 4th attempt due to covid conditions meaning the first 3 attempts were cancelled and we decided to wait to our 30th wedding anniversary as it was a special occasion for us. We have been looking forward to this for a while now and at last the time was right with no obstacles in our way. The biggest issue with the night was it was stuffy from the time we entered because the air conditioning was broken which made it very uncomfortable for us and many other people sitting around us. We had been told that the drinks were over priced so wasn't shocked to pay £5.50 for a bottle of Ivy beer 330ml and almost £10 for a glass of half decent wine. There was plenty of choice in the food which was very good but to be fair its more about the ambience of the Ivy. It didn't help when we had paid our bill and the waiter asked us how we enjoyed the evening, I explained it was too hot and he said try working in it with these clothes on. With that we got up and left a bit disappointed. Would we try it again? Probably just to see what difference there would be with some air con in the building.
The waiter was excellent, he was efficient and extremely good at his job unfortunately we did not catch his name
We did feel somewhat exposed on our table for two which was close to the main door and we appeared to get excessive noise due to this and had difficult hearing each other at times
We only visit The Ivy for special occasions as a treat and on this occasion the fries were extremely hard but otherwise the food was as usual excellent and most enjoyable and we look forward to our next visit next year
Went for a special occasion and it was everything we expected and more. Amazing atmosphere, service and experience. Highly recommended
Wonderful place to eat, the location, ambience, service and food.
Great service and wonderful food.. Can’t fault any of it
Very memorable and a great experience can’t wait to go back
We were staying in Brighton for our anniversary and decided to go to The Ivy in the Lanes. Blown away as soon as we walked in. Great atmosphere, service was amazing and the food was very good. Definitely not to pricey for what we had. Anyone living or visiting Brighton should visit this restaurant.
Good was amazing, both vegan and standard menu. Lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere and comfortable seating
Amazing lunch. Great venue and customer service was excellent. Highly
Little disappointed our anniversary went unrecognised with small gesture fro restaurant
Unfortunately very bad, couldn’t stay has no air con, as very uncomfortable temperature and a health hazard. Did ruined are few days away for my husband birthday. Did feel they could have let us know. Very disappointed.
Terrible welcome upon arrival. Told our table wasn’t ready. No positive greeting despite it being our wedding anniversary and calling ahead.
Confusion between staff members. Whispering and general unpleasant atmosphere.
After being taken to the bar, the bar staff were fantastic. Upbeat, despite being extremely busy. Professional and efficient.
The air con was broken so the temperature was ridiculous.
The food was superb however the waiting staff need more training. Having worked in luxury hospitality for decades it really annoys me when the basics are missing. A let down on the whole restaurant
Fabulous experience and a real treat!
