Lives up to its reputation. Great meal, lovely wine, great service
Fabulous lunch, wonderful service. Everyone had made an effort to dress up which was nice.
So good service! Sweet staff
Great welcome and excellent attentive service throughout. Food was very good and even managed to spot a celebrity or two. A most enjoyable lunch.
Not worth its reputation. Food was bland, service was basic.
The dressed crab, shepherd’s pie and Thai green curry are excellent. The creme brûlée was also very good. Had a lovely bottle of Margaux with the meal. The staff were knowledgeable and didn’t rush us out. Overall a very pleasing experience.
Was rushed at the beginning and asked for drinks but got our starter before our drinks other than that lovely
Very good and iconic. Feels like history. Defiantly advise going when in town. I’ll be back
We went to the Ivy on 7th July. There’s nothing to say apart from we were treated like we were the only people there. It was really buzzing, really great atmosphere and the staff made it all look so easy. Nothing was too much trouble. We had an amazing time and cannot wait to go back. Thank you so very much indeed for the whole dining experience.
A lovely evening. Good food. But didn’t feel as exclusive as it used to.
Superb ambience-Old school service-Theodore MD was outstanding-wonderful cuisine
Always a great experience, the food is always well prepared and the service is excellent. People are very nice as well.
We dined at the Ivy before the theater. They were attentive to our need to be out at a certain time. The food, especially the shepherd’s pie, was very good. This historic restaurant is beautiful to behold. We were so happy to have chosen it and would do so again.
Another great afternoon spent in The Ivy.
From the minute we walk in we are always greeted warmly and this continues throughout the afternoon.
Popcorn shrimps for starters and duck egg with asparagus a must.
For mains went back for my favourite of calfs Liver, mash and bacon which is unbelievably light and cooked to perfection(yet again).
Dessert was the Pavlova with summer fruits which tasted sweet with a sharpness of fresh fruit. Presentation was very classic so was a shame to eat it but very glad I did.
As always the staff are always very polite and the food is never anything but superb.
We had the scallops and classic fish and chips . Excellent service snd food
A microcosm of the post theatre scene. Great food and people watching.
Not sure if I would recommend. The tables very close together and cramped
Perfect in every way, as always. I adore taking newbies to The Ivy. This time I sampled their beautiful 'Cucumber Gimlet' mocktail, the squid salad, and the cod fillet. I finished off with the chocolate mint Aero pyramid, which was divine. You can't fault this place. Ever.
Great pre theatre meal/ menu was excellent good value and the service exemplary. Recommend +++
Always a pleasure dining at The Ivy
Food, wine and service were excellent. We had a lovely lunch.
The Ivy is a great classic. We had not been back in a number of years, but booked it to meet some American friends that also happened to be in London. The service was excellent. The food was great. The wine list was versatile and reasonably priced for the quality. Despite a stated two hour time slot, we were there three hours and never felt pushed. We would certainly go back.
The focus is more on home cooked English food restaurant style, rather than gourmet and food and prices, given the location and reputation, are quite reasonable. The attention and service is superb and the little touches when dining for a celebration help build a memory.
Wine prices are loaded about as high as I ever seen and I noticed that not too many tables had a bottle in use although rather then being left on the table wine suddenly materialises as soon as your glass gets low. Part of the good service.
great food and great experience. friendly and welcoming.
Service and food was mediocre - I had expected so much more from the ivy
Seating was crowded and cramped
I was very disappointed.
I would not choose to go back as there are so many more restaurants which would provide better quality food and service
Never fails to impress.... excellent food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Love this restaurant!
Loved it, but we had trouble finding it please look at directions for your web site
This time I tried the vegan and veggie menu and it was very enjoyable
Absolutely incredible experience; great food and even better service.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and good service. It’s just such a huge shame that the tables are squashed so tightly together; you constantly feel like others are listening to your conversation, which unfortunately made the experience quite uncomfortable.
The food and service was amazing would recommend to anyone I will be returning very soon
The perfect restaurant for a relaxing and spoiling night. The lights are low and even though the restaurant is full you still feel comfortable and private. Food was delicious and the staff were attentive. Couldn’t ask for more.
Great service and delicious food. The Wild Mushroom soup was incredible
I’ve been traveling to London for over twenty years and always have at least one meal here. Happy to say it continues to never disappoint. Both my friend and I have special food requests and the kitchen is attentive and always deliver a delicious meal. I’ve tried newer and trendier, but this a lovely London experience.
Excellent. Perfect from start to finish.
Wonderful quick and polite staff and as alway, a delicious dinner.
Great except for reservation- I’d booked online, received confirmation and double checked day of reservation only to arrive to find that they didn’t have reservation for us! Embarrassing as treating friends. All okay but if had been busy would have been different story. Meal & service were great but I’m not going to book online again
The Scallops has sand in them 😏, waiting staff could have been friendlier. I liked the ambient, food was okay but not enough vegetarian/vegan options.
This Ivy is the 'mother' of the Ivy restaurant group. It's been around for over a 100 years in the same location. Our waitstaff were knowledgeable and recommended certain items for us. It was expensive but it's in a capital city. We've spent more in San Francisco and Chicago. The bar in the center gave it a clubby look, we received our cocktails there and then moved and ate at a table. The menu isn't huge but had enough choice. It is quite small as restaurants go. We made reservations about 2 months in advance and when we arrived they were turning other potential patrons away. Would go again, but there are so many good places to try in London, we might not actually make that wish come true.
It’s a great classic London restaurant and still one of my favorites when I come to London. Old school charm and great meat dishes but also surprisingly good vegetarian options. We sat at the bar which I highly recommend. The bartenders are lively, fun to chat to, and make great drinks. The restaurant has fully settled into it’s “facelift” from a few years ago and seems as hot as ever.
