Exceeded expectations. I wasn’t especially hungry so ordered the Mediterranean salad which was possibly the best salad I’ve ever had. My fellow diners thoroughly enjoyed their meat dishes.
Will definitely return on my next trip to London
Love the Ivy.. had steak and was slightly over cooked for my liking so be very specific when requesting how it is cooked.. but otherwise excellent as always..
Great choices on the menu which suited the differing tastes of my group. Service was very good and attentive. Our parents really appreciated the ‘Happy Anniversary’ message on the plate of chocolates! It was busy but this did not affect the service, we would return!
Where I was sat I was constantly bumped into. Either by other diners, or member of staff. The food was ok, but the whole evening sadly wasn't as special as previous occasions.
So full of nostalgia and and was made to feel like a million dollars. Staff were so kind and attentive. Cant wait to go again. This was for our 25th wedding anniversary and could not have picked a better place.
Love this place! The food and service were remarkable. We can’t wait to go back.
My delayed birthday dinner. They gave me a wonderful plate with truffles and a chocolate birthday greeting. Very nice experience for such a popular restaurant.
I have visited the Ivy on a number of occasions, all have been very enjoyable. The service is excellent, the staff are very attentive as well. Looking forward to my next visit.
The Shepherd's Pie is as good as they say it is. Excellent.
The magic is gone. Tables are too close together, menu unexciting, dress code is lax and the meet and greet was very poor. Despite arriving on time, we were forced to wait at the bar for 15 minutes for our table - until we pointedly asked to be seated. The table was close to where we were sitting at the bar and had been empty the whole time we waited. Wait staff were lovely but other London restaurants offer better food and experience for the money.
Lunch : calf liver are medium cooked and super soft and juicy. No weird smell or taste, just like a tender piece of pork Belly.
Dessert : perfect blackforrest cake chocolate and rum cherry are in well balanced, best ever have been in london.
Because the lunch experience is so good, I returned for dinner in short notice for snowcrab linguine with garlic.
It's fresh snow crab meat and every bite can taste it subtly. Went well with chablis burgundy white wine.
Love The Ivy - the ambiance, the service and the food.
Diner with my lovely wife we. Were a bit early and shown to the bar for a drink the ivy gin was very good we were then seated and the food and wine were excellent and excellent service we will be back
Dinner at the Ivy was fabulous, the service was good, staff helpful and pleasant and the food just superb. Two of our guests were vegetarian and there was ample selection for them too. As it was a celebration the staff made a special effort and presented a ‘congratulations’ truffles for the table, which was a lovely touch. The only small negative was that an item on the menu was not available and we were not informed before placing our order.
We went to the Ivy for my mum’s birthday and made us feel so special. The staff were super nice and friendly. Food was perfect and we enjoyed our lunch. At the end of the meal they put Happy birthday with my mum’s name on the plate with a dessert which made everything special.
Pleased to amoeba like splitting of the ivy concept with lots more outlets has resulted in more chances to actually eat there , with no erosion of quality or ambiance .
What a wonderful experience it was to eat in such a traditional stunning restaurant with excellent classic English food. Fabulous fish and chips and beef shepherds pies and just about everything was perfect!
A very memorable experience on all levels.
The service was fantastic. The food was distinctly average. Overall the value for money was lacking. I feel this place trades in its reputation. I'd avoid.
We were so looking forward to dining with you and booked a reservation from San Diego. It was going to be a highlight while traveling through London. When we arrived, the greeting area was jammed with people....not welcoming. Then our table wasn't ready after you made such a fuss about being on time. We were directed to the bar but then hurriedly rushed to our table after we had just ordered a drink.
Next and worse, our table location was right at the door facing the kitchen and there were ten of waiters running by us during the meal. It was a show of its own but not pleasant.
I mistakenly ordered Shepherds Pie which was not good....just lots of potato. Why not take it off the menu?
We were extremely disappointed.
A bit disappointing didn’t think the ivy would use frozen chips for the price you have to pay. Had a better meal at browns the next night
The staff excelled and made us feel very special. Fabulous for a birthday lunch.
Very nice atmospher, delicious food, good service.
Still my favourite place for lunch in London. The service, the food and the drinks are always first class with a lovely traditional atmosphere. Just oozes quality!
Great pre-Ballet dinner! Food was served very briskly and was superb and server was very attentive
Good food - a little too much salt in the risotto. Lovely atmosphere and wonderful service. Still at the top of their game!
Fantastic meal, great place and word class service
Fabulous meal. Shepherds Pie. Cannot fault the whole experience. Will return soon. Keith Lemon dining in there too.....gotta be good.
Polite, professional staff. Made to feel welcome and a credit to the iconic name that is The Ivy.
Wonderful from start to finish!
Took my daughter as we often overlook the old school favourites when choosing lunch.
Service impeccable, as expected. Drinks were lovely too. Think the menu is a little all over the place but again, more contemporary menus keep it simpler. I’m always a little dubious of Asia influences on a classic menu.
Saying that, the best dish between the two of us was the miso glazed salmon and prawn dumplings! My daughter thought this was amazing and it looked great.
Burratta starter was a little too rich. Other than that, a thoroughly good lunch in an iconic setting. We really enjoyed our afternoon.
We are finishing a 16 dayadvwnture through the British isles. The Ivy was a perfect exclamation point. All good, better than ever!!!!
Deserves its reputation, fabulous service and delicious food
Great food and service without being pretentious great atmosphere
Lovely place. Great service, we weren’t in a hurry so ended up have a very indulgent lunch. The Hai fish dish is inspired and the duck and watermelon starter was very refraining on a super hot afternoon in London.
I stupidly left my umbrella in our booth. When I realised the next day and called in case anyone had found it, they had put it aside for me. it’s a good one so it is nice to have it back!
The waitstaff and quality of drinks and food were excellent, until the service slowed as we finished our meal and awaited table attention for a long while, too long for high standards. The service personnel were very friendly, however, and the let down at the end should not deter future visits. Highly recommend the Knickerbocker for dessert.
Great food and service in a lovely environment
Truly a classic restaurant. All food was outstanding. Especially delicious was the sesame ginger chicken appetizer. Amazing flavor that I still haven't figured out yet.
Absolutely brilliant. Have eaten here many times and NEVER had anything but excellent food, fantastic service. Just wish I could get booked in more often. Highly recommended.
