Classic - comfortable - excellent service - good wine list - excellent hand sanitiser!
I took my thirteen year old daughter here on a Sunday evening. Loved the venue, the food was excellent and very good value. Service was good, but I felt it lacked atmosphere.
We would definitely go back, and my rib-eye steak on the bone was the best I’ve tasted in the UK.
For dessert my daughter had the knickerbockerglory which was divine, and I had a glass of Pedro Ximenez which again was the best I’ve tasted in this country.
Overall we loved our evening, maybe the lack of atmosphere was due to Covid19...and we will definitely be back soon.
I enjoyed my meal at the Ivy, however I would think in the time of Coronavirus that the tables could perhaps have more space between them, or even better would be if each seating area could be separated by a physical barrier. Unfortunately the restaurant is very small and I can appreciate they are doing their best, however some of the tables of two were particularly close together.
The crumbed chicken was delicious!
Absolutely superb from start to finish. Food was amazing - Bang bang chicken followed by the cod and shared the cheesecake all superb! Great service and lovely atmosphere. It’s why The Ivy is my favourite restaurant.
As always a fantastic menu, great team and happy atmosphere- our “go-to” destination for guaranteed enjoyment.
We went as a family- two adults and three children. The Ivy never fails to please us all.
A lovely experience. Well looked after by the staff definitely recommend
Ideally situated in the heart of Theatre land and close to many tourist attractions, all within walking distance.
Superb food and service. I am looking forward to my next visit.
The servers were not wearing masks - no ventilation
Great experience at the ivy from start to finish. Service , food and atmosphere all excellent
A post lockdown lunch. A superb professional safe experience. Fantastic food, wine and immaculate service
It was a lovely and delicious lunch as a prelude to the Titian exhibition.
Lovely atmosphere busy but not crowded. Good time to go as it's probably easier to get a reservation.
The welcome was very good. The food took forever to arrive. All good except one main course was inedible. All the staff were apologetic and wrote off costs and did free deserts etc but even after the write offs it was £100 a head and to justify that they need to up their game
Excellent service, fabulous food and drinks with an amazing world class team. The Ivy never fails to deliver. It’s wonderful to be back. Thank you.
We first came here 17 years ago and it has to be said that our return was a disappointing experience. We had expected the food to be on another level from the chain restaurants bearing the original Ivy's name, but it wasn't (which maybe is a credit to them..?). It just seemed much more expensive. To be honest, just under twenty quid for a small, lukewarm shepherds pie isn't really great value.
The visit was still enjoyable thanks to the wonderful staff and the nice surroundings, but I don't think we'll be rushing back.
This was a special occasion surprise lunch for my daughters 16th. I had asked, in advance if this could be marked in a discreet way if they felt able. It was lovely meal and she felt very special when they welcomed us and said happy birthday to her.
She was delighted when a plate of chocolates was given to us with "Happy Birthday" written on the plate. I had not asked for this and took it as a nice gesture to mark her birthday.
We had spent almost £200 on lunch. The only massive disappointment was to find that we had been charged for this gratuitous gesture. I may be being funny but....
Anyway, the lunch and atmosphere was great.
Burger and Shepard’s Pie was above and beyond delicious! Recommend a drink in private room upstairs before dinner!
Divine food, reimagined menu, classic and new cocktails. Good social distancing between tables and careful staff. Amazing LAPEROUSE cocktail. And The Ivy Jewel is a stunning signature dessert. Wonderful squid starter. A fantastic experience.
Celebrating my girlfriend’s 40th birthday. Good atmosphere, great table service by the head waiter (the gent in purple suit) good food and my girlfriend had a nice birthday treat
Took government advice on seriously, with hand sanitisier available on the table checking temperature first thing. Amazing experience overall.
Special thank you yo Nathan O’Keeffe
who took care of me and was very
professional yet friendly.
Look forward to my next visit
Informal and friendly environment
We booked a table to celebrate my husband’s 70th and my son and girlfriend were surprising him. Everything was great, the table , food and service were excellent. The waiters did an amazing job and even took a video on my sons phone of when we walked in and were surprised. A really lovely and memorable afternoon. Thankyou.
Had a lovely meal at the Ivy - fish and chips and knickerbocker glory. Always feels like you're dining in a special place. Will be back!
Very subdued shadow of the pre-lockdown restaurant. Service adequate until after main course. We were given dessert menus but then abandoned. In the end we had to go to find someone to pay the bill, we left and went home for ice cream in our kitchen. The Ivy responded quickly with a phone call in response to feedback I posted the next morning on their web site.
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent drinks. Wonderful place.
Lovely menu, great food beautifully presented. Good value.
Everything you would expect from The Ivy and more. Wonderful dining experience in the current challenging environment.
many items on the menu were unavailable. the steak was undercooked so when asked for a more medium steak it was put in the microwave and came out grey, it was vile. was also charged for a salad that never came although this was removed from the bill along with a round of drinks.
A very relaxed and enjoyable experience with great food and equally grewt and friendly service.
Will we be back?
You bet we will..
Great staff, lovely ambience and superb food. We will go back.
We were so looking forward to an evening out after 'lockdown' and there could be no better place than the Ivy restaurant in Covent garden. The ambiance was fantastic and although measures were in place to protect the customers this did not detract in any way from the overall experience. The service was friendly and charming and the food excellent.I can also recommend the superb gin martinis ! I was very excited to go to the Ivy and it 100% lived up to my expectations !!!
As always a great place to eat and just love the ambience
Quieter than normal due to safe distancing measures, but as always a great meal with extra special service.
I had the chicken masala curry with butter rice which was melt in the mouth and spiced to perfection followed by a divine lemon meringue. I can’t fault the entire evening and can not wait to return 👏🏻♥️
The original and still the best. Plenty of celebs and the usual fast and efficient service
Just outstanding and the noise level was a perfect buzz of talking and music. Excellent.
Total dream to be out having lunch again. Staff and food were both ecxcellent!
Lovely to be back at the Ivy, very easy quick temperature check. Staff very friendly, fantastic to be back.
Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere, food was great, service attentive and knowledgable
As an avid user of The Ivy I was salivating at the prospect of returning to eat there after 4 months and I was not disappointed. The food and ambiance was fabulous and we were treated like long lost family. What a great evening.
Delightful as ever! Great food and atmosphere, polite staff
