grilled or meunière
My favorite restaurant in London. Eat here every time I’m in London from NY.
We had another brilliant evening last night. Lovely staff, great food and fantastic ambience. I love this place so much, it never disappoints
First time at the Ivy, We will be returning soon, during our time in the restaurant we was not hurried, food arrived and was able to enjoy our evening 5 stars
Going out with my partner for dinner is always a special occasion
Top notch 👌🏼
Had a fantastic lunch at the Ivy, West St, Covent Garden. From greeting us at the entrance to seating us, we were made to feel welcome in beautiful surroundings. Each member of staff was well presented, polite and professional. The food was delicious... I had steak tartare which was superb, the halibut was well cooked and very tasty. We were booked in at 12pm so first diners... it got busier as time went on and tables are quite close to each other, however it did not take away from our experience. Will be back for sure! Was not expecting such a great service so was pleasantly surprised after reading previous reviews.
The Ivy has lost its way. The food used to be very good and is now mediocre and the service used to be exemplary and is now adequate. I’m reluctantly crossing it off my list of go-to places.
The service was below average - especially for the price.
It was also my birthday - which just went in blank, even though i’ve said in the reservation it was my birthday.
The food was good!
As usual, great food, great service and great ambience! Never disappoints.
Had a late meal there with family after the theatre. The Ivy was perfect - my all time favourite London restaurant and certainly didn't disappoint. Wonderful food, fabulous service and excellent cocktails/wine. Can't wait to visit again next month.
It’s the first and the best!! Outstanding!
Great service and lively ambiance with really good food. All the favourites still there.
Fabulous! Always a great dining experience - a must
Really lovely food and a relaxed smart restaurant.
The Ivy always delivers for me. Be it a 21st birthday party or a post theatre dinner. We had the latte last night and it was spot on - quick main course, good table, excellent service and a decent bottle of wine.
Always perfect for me . Looking forward to to my next visit .
We had an efficient and friendly service. The starter and mains was sumptuous but the dessert menu will need some improvement.
Amazing experience , lovely food , starters were delicious . And the stuff super nice . Defiantly will go back soon
Fantastic experience as always at the Ivy. One of our favourite restaurants and it never disappoints! Beautiful food in a relaxed atmosphere and service kid the highest standard - thank you
Food and cocktails were delicious, and staff were great. Unfortuntely several dishes had sold out so we had to abandon the idea of having a starter, but we did get some complimentary sides. Tables are very close together.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing ambience. The Ivy is one of our favourites!
Wonderful to see this Grande Dame of the London restaurant scene unaffected by the strangeness of the last few years! Brilliant wine list reassuringly expensive but not excessively so, great thoughtful selection. Brilliant menu and fab veggie and vegan offerings. Buzzy but intimate with professional and friendly staff. Was a delight!
Wonderful experience as always, great ambience, food and service
This is not the first time at the Ivy, the food and service was absolutely fantastic, made our special occasion evening to remember, will be back soon.
Great food and friendly staff
Did not disappoint, lovely food and very attentive service
enjoy the original ivy - excellent waiter service
Always an enjoyable place for dinner.
Always amazing food and service is second to none. Made our sons 21st birthday celebrations complete. Thank you so much!
This was a special occasion trip - our anniversary - so we were excited to have an excuse to try out The Ivy, known to be a classic and exceptional British dining experience.
Food: starters - the cheddar soufflé was good and probably the best dish of the meal. The burrata starter was at best mediocre - the burrata itself did not taste fresh, more like the last one at the back of the fridge. The olive tapenade was flavourless. We had to ask for a bread basket, we thought the Ivy would bring it to the table (without needing to be prompted) as par for the course. Mains - the risotto was cold, mean-portioned and did not come with a spoon, we had to ask for one which meant the food got colder. We also had to ask for Parmesan when, again, Parmesan offered at the table with your risotto is standard in your average restaurant. The gnocchi was better but again not hot enough, the tomatoes in the sauce did not taste fresh. Dessert - we ordered a knickerbocker glory and a sticky toffee pudding. While the former was fine the latter was cold, dry and lacking in sauce. The ice cream was barely a dessert spoon’s worth and it was half-melted when we received it. Sticky Toffee Pudding is a classic British dessert and we assumed it would be a standout at a restaurant that is considered a classic British institution.
Overall the service was mediocre - there was no apology for the terrible sticky toffee pudding when it was sent back. In stead we were asked “you want another one?” casually as if this may be normal.
The ambience was fine as I guess people still view this place as a place to be seen - there are better restaurants with better service, food and ambience (including in the genre of Art Deco jazzesque atmosphere) all across London.
Does not live up to the hype. Not for the discerning patron.
Lovely as always!
Great food there! especially the desserts. Would recommend the frozen berries and white chocolate sauce.
The girl on Covent Garden reception had the best smile ever!
As good as ever!
Nice food and drinks. Sadly tables are crammed together and staff are not particularly attentive
Wonderful food, fabulous service, thank you to Daniel who looked after us so well, great wine knowledge and I definitely recommend the chalk and cheese cocktail!
Perhaps turning a bit Ivy chain rather than the exclusive venue it used to be. Food was good though.
The original Ivy is still the best, lovely people, great experience as always
