Of all the Ivy locations in London, the Ivy on West Street in Covent Garden is the best. Not only is the food up to the Ivy Standard, but it is a great place to have a business lunch because noise levels are moderate, and it offers a certain intimacy that the other locations do not have.
Over priced & over rated
Dined at the ivy in Manchester & York & rated highly these 2 but feel under welmed on this occasion
Food was exceptional, as was the service. The only slight downside we’re that the tables are seated very close together, making private conversation difficult. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Been to the Ivy many times. This occasion was not the best. They cram you in like sardines if you’re a party of 2 and I found the staff snotty.
It is always a pleasure to dine at The Ivy, we were met on arrival by Fernando and shown to our table, the food was delicious, out waiting staff were attentive but not overbearing, we will be back soon !
Food was ok not as good as it was a few years ago — service was excellent — got the feeling they are trading on past glories
Great time at the original Ivy. Sat at the bar. Great good, atmosphere. The bar tenders/ waiter were kind of bored. But overall a great time
Friendly staff and food was good.
Everything from the bar service through dinner was wonderful
As good as always - a great setting, professional service and delicious food - definitely try the Lemon Meringue surprise. But not exactly a budget restaurant.
Good food and excellent service. We’ll come back soon.
Great place: great food and service!
Amazing! Not a single bad point
Never fails to impress... amazing food and service as always
A perfect birthday celebration with my family
To celebrate family
Another great experience in the Ivy West Street. Such gorgeous food aswell as friendly professional service. Cocktails are fantastic too!!!
The vegetarian menu was limited, compared to the menu on the site there werent a lot options. And in menu card there wasnt mentioned that in the preparation of the dessert wine was included.
Had a lovely lunch with my Daughtet as a pre-theatre treat. She has been hoping to visit The Ivy for some time and this was a surprise that didn't disappoint.
She loved the well appointed interior decor and as usual the service was impeccable from the front of house reception, through to the waiting staff and general attendants. At 14 she loves to be treated as a young lady rather than a child and the staff hit that balance perfectly.
Food was great as usual and the ambience was perfect.
Service was unhurried which suited us fine. Lots of London restaurants, especially around theatreland tend to try to speed up service to turn around the covers but not here. Very relaxed and also no pushing for drink orders after we stated that we wouldn't be needing anything special.
A great visit.
We had a very good family dinner here around Christmas. The place was buzzing...don't bother going without reservations. The ambiance was very pretty...very "holiday." The menu was very varied...something for everyone. We had a very good server who didn't mind giving us plenty of time, explaining entrees and their preparation, and checking back with us often. The food was very good, too. My husband thought his dover sole was one of the best he's ever had. Another diner at our table loved his Shepard's Pie. My risotto with white truffles and scallops was delicious. We really didn't have a complaint among the five of us---and we are all have very different tastes.
All in all, a great experience. We would definitely recommend.
Such beautiful food and lovely staff would absolutely recommend to my friends!
Fantastic. Very welcoming, great service, fantastic food.Everything about it was great. Highly recommend it.
Really great front of house service - excellent maitre d’
Thoroughly enjoyable, will be coming back in the new year.
Great choice of all different kind of foods , not too unreasonably priced.
Good drink selection as expected.
Superb baked Alaska 'show'!
A family Christmas Day followed by a show
A fabulous place with good food and good service. It’s special .. but it’s expensive.
The attitude at the cloakroom reception was rude and rushed as we entered with no welcoming experience. The doorman was lovely, but the moment I stepped inside a lady barked at me “do you have a reservation” as if extremely inconvenienced. My festive excitement was instantly wiped away - I was obviously regarded as a tourist who stumbled in for a selfie, rather than a potential customer spending £300+ on my husband’s 40th birthday dinner. When we left, no one was there except for the security guard who had no idea where our coats were. We stood in awkward silence for a good few minutes, baffled - I had to leave in the cold without my coat to make sure our taxi didn’t overcharge us for the wait, while my husband waited for my coat. Appart from that, the meal was wonderful and we were hosted beautifully by your staff. A small suggestion in the wine service though: please don’t assume that just because a man is at the table he knows more about wine and should be presented the bottle and offered a tasting. That backwards attitude is increasingly noticeable in today’s landscape.
Best place we ate in London. Remember there are many great places to eat in London; but this is a must. Dress up! It is worth it!!
Too noisy, not enough space between tables, food good, service excellent.
Lovely food and warm ambience but the service is really very cold and off putting.
Always superb, it is one of my favourite restaurants and is consistently good, great service and good honest food.
Excelente lugar, atención y la comida muy buena
A lot of options. All of them exquisite. The ambience is idillic
Simply hits the spot for buzzy ambience coupled with devine food and impeccable service. First class every time
Great welcome, great service and fantastic food, what else can I say
Understandable that it's been around for over 100 years. Couldn't fault the champagne cocktails or anything else. Very knowledgeable and courtious service. A very enjoyable evening.
We booked the Ivy for our anniversary it was a wonderful experience for such a special occasion. The food was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The service was of the same standard. I’d definitely recommend the restaurant
