Lovely afternoon of lunch and prosecco. Great to be sat in the garden on a beautiful sunshine day. Great food. Really enjoyed our time at the Ivy Marlow
There were 5 of us including my two grandchildren aged 11 and 9. The 9 year old & I had fish and chips and we agree it was delicious with her special vote of superb for the mushy peas. Chicken Milanese was tender. Steak tartar ditto. We had a selection of green vegetables all cooked well. Highly recommend the spinach.
The gentleman who served us was excellent! Attentive and friendly
Fantastic. Great menus choice which didn’t disappoint. Looking forward to our next visit
Having experienced The Ivy in London a few times and even their restaurant in Edinburgh, I was looking forward to treating my wife to a birthday lunch here. Sadly the service was a bit hit and miss, with waiting staff that would suit a Weatherspoons better. Dropped cutlery, dirty glasses, too long being left between visits to the table, repeated instructions to get what we'd asked for and generally not being looked after. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fussy diner, but I'm someone who wants what they pay for at a place like this. I've been spoiled by the service in London to be honest. Food was good but not outstanding as previously eaten at other locations.
First time visit to the Ivy at Marlow, we found it to be a very enjoyable experience.
Service was poor, glasses remained empty and the food came out at different times. Service for the price was severely lacking. Shame because the food and ambience is great. Try the Ivy champagne it’s lush!
We had a table of nine and the service was excellent. Very efficient, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was perfect for lunch, a good selection of brunch, main meals or sandwiches.
Beautiful restaurant, great food and attentive, thoughtful staff
We had a beautiful breakfast on my birthday the food and service were exceptional and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I could have sat there all morning
I did enjoy the food a lot! I did feel not tended to by the staff which was quite irritated as they highly rate their own standards as a chain.
Our third visit to the Ivy Marlow Garden, this time with four very good friends to celebrate my wifes 70th birthday, We had told them how much we liked the Ivy and were so looking forward to sharing it with them, the place was its usual wonderful self ,buzzing! the drinks came, lovely! and then the food, Oh dear, it was dry and very unappetising, a real spoiler for us. We were booked to return on Sunday with more friends, but on the strength of our experience we cancelled and went elsewhere, what a shame!!!
Just such a lovely setting, great food, service and ambience
Excellent evening at the Ivy Marlow Garden. Service and food spot on.
There were three of us dinner. Two of us were celebrating birthdays. The main course was appalling for two of us. He ordered medium rare steak which was served as well done. He was persuaded to try again. The second steak was medium and evidently was totally bland. I ordered partridge which was the special that evening. It was dry and tough. I had to request a sharp knife which enabled me to cut the meat but not make it edible. I left it. Party #3 had fish and chips which was v good.
The acoustics were bad. We could barely hear each other. Perhaps a function of where we were seated, by the wall about three tables away from the bar. I’ve been to the Ivy in Marlow before and I recommended it to my friends for that evening so v disappointing. I’m hoping this is a one-off bad experience.
The highlight was a surprise doughtnut for the two of us celebrating birthdays which was a v nice touch. Pity the food was otherwise inedible for two out of three of us.
I remain concerned because I’ve also booked the Ivy for Sunday lunch tomorrow in honour of my son’s birthday. Let’s hope they get it right this time ....otherwise I’ll be letting down five other people...
We were seated at a table by the bar, our wine was left in a cool round a pillar from our table and we were virtually ignored for most of the evening having to summon service on numerous occasions and help ourselves to the 'hidden' wine. There restaurant did not appear particularly busy.
Excellent venue and food well recommended, great staff as well
We had a brilliant evening and will be back again soon
Great food and service, cocktails fab as well! Loved every part of it
Nice place, good food, wife loved it, me happy. Recommended
Delicious food from the 3 course lunch set menu, sea bass was cooked to perfection. Desserts were the envy of our neighbouring diners! It was very busy, but the friendly atmosphere and service was excellent, we didn’t feel rushed at any point. Will definitely be back soon!
I cannot praise the service, the food and the atmosphere enough, myself and friends had a fabulous night and I would recommend to anyone.
The food was perfect, not a single thing could be changed for the better, service was very friendly and efficient.
My first time dining here for pre wedding occasion and we all agreed whole evening was special
Very varied menu, plenty of choice, all good quality, portion size adequate but not generous. Tables quite close together, difficult not to overhear next door conversation, this makes it a little noisy for a relaxed lunch. But we still enjoyed our visit (my second) and would come again.
The food is amazing and the restaurant is beautiful!
Really great dining experience, superb food and excellent service.
Beautiful surroundings. Although quite a large restaurant it managed to feel intimate. Absolutely excellent service. Food was delicious. Only criticism for me was my steak was medium and I asked for medium rare. It was tender though and juicy so i didn't say anything but another time I'd go for rare. Great place for a special evening.
We had an ok evening at The Ivy Marlow. The service was not great our drinks arrived after our starter and subsequent drink orders were very slow. Food was ok but not as good as our previous visits. We did get a round of drinks taken off the bill. Disappointing as it was a birthday meal.
It was my first time but it was very memorable as everything met or exceeded expectation.
The decor is beautiful, food very good, house wine also good.
First time for us and we would certainly be back and recommend to family and friend.
Prices are a little on the steep side , lemon sole ! 23.00, maybe Dover sole yes, so that my girlfriends husband said she could not have it !
Anyway great place
Meal spoilt by cheese board that was much too cold, the Brie was as hard as cheddar and the cheddar the texture of Parmesan.
If it’s a h&s issue having cheeses at room temperature as they should be it should be advised before ordering.
Poor service and very slow. Starters were not served at the same time. No chips served with the eggs Benedict and the crumpet was so hard, it was inedible. Will not be back.
The restaurant is absolutely stunning! Service was great. Kid friendly. Food was really good too with an amazing brunch menu. Would definitely recommend it !
Great food and great ambiance, would highly recommend this restaurant.
Couldn’t really fault the experience, great buzzy restaurant , great food and great service.
Love Love this place was amazing, will be going back very soon
Service slow (nibbles had to be chased and were served at same time as main course)
Ordered 2 portions of olives as nibbles.
£3.50 for 5 olives (which looked and tasted tinned) - appalling value. Good quality restaurants in central London offer much better value (quality, service & price)
Mains over priced and portions small
Had the early sitting (7.30pm - 9.30pm) so were chasing us to leave at 9.15pm. If they'd been quicker to serve in first place we they might not have had to rush us out the door.
Would not go again. Very bad value for money and not an experience we will want to repeat
Not as good service as previously. Steak poor value.
No consistency in reserving a particular table. I had requested a table by the window and when we arrived they were all full. I was told that the window tables were on a first come, first served basis. A PREVIOUS time we dined there, the tables by the window were empty and we were told we could NOT sit there as you had to request one when you made your reservation. Staff training is obviously required! Appalling service. Cocktails arrived after appetizers. Ordered more cocktails, repeatedly reminded our server, they arrived AFTER we finished meal. Also during meal waited 25-30 minutes for more water. Server didn’t have any idea of what the newly arrived dishes on the next table were! One was clearly salmon and she told us it was chicken! A little worrying! Overall, although food tasted good, this was not an enjoyable dining experience.
