Following a warm welcome we were shown to a very well positioned table where we were comfortably seated.
The food, wine and service is all absolutely superb. This was not our first visit and we are aware that the menu changes slightly: new dishes are introduced, but favourites remain.
Well done to everyone who made the ‘everyday occasion’ a ‘special one’ to remember!
We look forward to returning!
Beautiful decor let down by service for drinks and not enough waiters . Managers very professional though .
Coffee arrived without milk and so went cold , took ages to take our drinks orders too .
Bacon very poor standard and fatty .
Otherwise good food . Service is inconsistent they need to be much more aware of customers stages of the whole dining experience .
Absolutely amazing food and service. Beautiful restaurant!
Wonderful, warm welcome and excellent service, as always.
Great lunch with friends- lovely place, great food and wine and excellent service
Shocking initial service standing at the bar and waiting more that twenty minutes to get two drinks and only then because I went and found the manager. They were fixing drinks for table delivery and resolutely not attending bar customers. When he started to make it I saw him pouring vodka and stopped him as gin was the required drink which I had specified twice. I don't know if he didn't hear or had just decided what he wanted to hear (it was a gin martini, straight up with the house gin, repeated very clearly to all twice). Our waitress was extremely good, attentive, interested and seemed to be enjoying herself. She was let down by the kitchen. Spinach/parmesan was delivered cold, not a bit cold but stone cold. When it came back it was of course volcanically hot. Very funny kitchen, thank you. I used The Ivy West Street for years and it was impeccable from food to service, always. What a sorry disappointment this was. They said they were busy which is a) no excuse for a professional setup and b) surprising. Though it is very close to where I live I will not be going back.
Excellent food and service again and favourite was the Chocolate Bombe
Great service lovely atmosphere and superb food. WELL DONE Ivy
Group breakfast event - the staff were very helpful and the food was amazing as always! Thank you.
Service was a bit slow to start with but became much better. All four of us enjoyed our meals, service was nice and friendly, not stuffy and the atmosphere in the restaurant was good. We have been a few times before and will definitely be back.
Lovely atmosphere, especially considering it was a Tuesday. The food was mostly amazing but the chicken Milanese was a bit dry. Our waiter was brilliant. We would definitely come back.
My fault, I went for the burger as I always have an amazing one in Marlow Bar & Grill. I was told it is only cooked medium to well done but I didn't realise how close to well done it would be. I was also surprised at the quality of the bun that it came in.
First time visit. We had a small lunch which was very good although the duck could have been leaner. Noise levels high but that reflected how busy they were. Would definitely return.
Had a delightful lunch with 3 friends. The service was very good and our waiter was always on hand when needed. In fact he overhead my friend talking about her birthday and brought a small cake and candle. Very impressed. Food was delicious and good value.
Went there for my wife’s 60th birthday dinner. Restaurant, ambience, service all very good. We had a bit of an issue with one of our main courses but to be fair to The Ivy they dealt with the issue very well by making an appropriate adjustment to the final bill so taking that into account we were very satisfied and would be happy to recommend it.
Ordered a vegetarian dish , a non vegetarian one was sent from the kitchen . Staff were very apologetic and manager came over and apologised . Waited a further 25 mins for the food to be remade. This was my first time at the Ivy , truthfully very disappointing especially spending just under £200 for a meal .
On arrival we had to wait for our table.
The ambience was lovely as was afternoon tea
Too many chiefs not enough indians .food was mediocre. Beware of the service charge .
Had a lovely meal with great service and the staff were very accommodating when I was an hour and a half late due to the M4 being closed!
Menu very limited and old fashion and very, very over priced.
I have dined at the Ivy Garden before - this was a special occasion and I felt quite let down by the service. Firstly, one drink came but we had to chase the other which came after a further 15 minutes. Then one main dish came and the other was wrong and so we had to wait a further 10 minutes for a replacement dish, meanwhile the other dish got cold. There were two “elves” running around who looked fabulous but they interrupted us on 3 occasions to ask us if we had seen other elves. This was special time for me and my daughter (we share a birthday) and really it was not great. Sorry!
Lovely breakfast menu. Some bits are great but they have challenges with service. Beans all came out cold, 4 lots! Tea/coffee arrived late after prompting. Could be amazing if they upped their game a bit.
Great place for a date or night out. Starters and desserts are very good though stay away from stakes as chefs clearly have no idea what they are doing. Sent our main course back twice!!!
Otherwise great place and service is super. Special thanks to Dan who serviced us on the day.
I would usually recommend but I did not the best visit. Food took ages and it came out cold. I ordered the roast chicken and was very toigh but we didn’t have the time to send back
Service was poor as we had different waiters. We had to find our wine and pour it ourselves. Service was very slow. And the noise levels were so high we literally couldn’t hear each other. The main problem was the service was absolutely awful!
A very lively restaurant and bar, the only downside would be the noise at the bar from empty bottles being thrown into bins by bar staff a little too energetically.
Excellent food and service as always at the Ivy
Took my son for his birthday, previously my daughter too... both times a lovely experience and very special. Service is always great, really polite and not over the top fussy .... just great and that’s why I will go back time and time again
Good food and wine but spoiled by very high noise levels on surrounding tables so everyone ends up shouting !
We enjoyed a lovely dinner for my daughter's birthday. The staff were attentive and friendly and we felt the service in general was very good. The food took a little longer than expected however we like a bit of time between courses and so it wasn't a problem. The food itself was very nice however I feel it is a little pricey. Prices of the mains should really reflect not having vegetables included as it is necessary to order sides to complete a meal. However it is a little more special as a restaurant and we will be going back again.
Great friendly service, excellent food and wine options, will definitely go back
We were celebrating a birthday and we were well looked after by management and staff. The food and ambience could not be faulted and The Ivy never fails to impress. Excellent!
It was for my sisters birthday and I told the reception that it was a birthday and he said he would make sure it was noted. The course off the set me use that my sister and brother chose was not available even at 12.16 and we waited over an hour between courses with no apology or explanation so when we had to leave without desert they didn’t even mention happy birthday or offer us a coffee. I will not be returning
This was my daughters 19th birthday the table was booked weeks ago but we were sat right next to the till !
She asked for a pink gin and lemonade but was refused as we did not have any id bearing in mind she was with both her parents on a a sunday lunch time i think this was totally unreasonable .
Most of the food was very good however the Prawn and advacado open sandwich had two small squares of advacado and the salad was smotherd in bitter red onions which in my opinion as a chef do not complement prawns and so i was unable to eat it.
As we left our waiter was outside the front door having a smoke .
I’ve been to other Ivy restaurants and had great experiences, however really didn’t enjoy myself at this one due to the fact that the service was very poor.
We asked the waiter to give us 2 minutes whilst we chose our drinks and he didn’t come back for almost 20mins or so. For my main I ordered a steak and asked for a glass of red wine with it and the wine didn’t arrive until after we had finished our dessert so I had to send it back as I didn’t want it any more - didn’t even get an apology! I wouldn’t have expected a service charge to be added to our bill as the service was shocking but it didn’t seem like they cared as it was a very busy restaurant.
The food was good just a shame about the service.
Very nicely decorated and nice atmosphere. My food was excellent, duck salad to start and blackened cod for main. My wife had Lemon Sole which she did not enjoy. Hardly any fish and greasy. However our waiter was very understanding and offered my wife something else from the menu so cannot complain as they put it right. would recommend.
Lovely evening.Great food.Great ambience. Highly recommend
Excellent service and very attentive staff. Food was superb and the atmosphere was fantastic.
We have dined at the Ivy in London but this was so much better and more relaxed.
Great food but shouldnt tamper with existing success
Tuna carpaccio was superb but new recipe doesnt come close was disappointed as if stg isnt broke why fix it
