We went for our wedding anniversary. Service staff were lovely. Food was poor. Sent my steak back three times as it wasn’t cooked properly. Me and my husband ended up eating separately as his was going cold. You don’t go Ivy for that level of service. Whilst they didn’t charge me for my dish they ruinied our occasion. The rest was expensive and you feel like your paying through your nose for a meal that was a disaster... I walked out three portion of chips later as that’s what they kept bringing to placate me!
A lovely treat, great menu selections, good quality and good service. They are observing Covid-19 rules very well at this time. Felt very safe.
Massive over kill with the service...highly exaggerated etiquette (almost script like)...I prefer a much more subtle gentle approach...
Hadn’t even had my first mouthful of food and the waiter rushed to the table to ask if the food was ok...
Then when I needed the waiters assistance they were just walking past and difficult made it difficult to catch their attention
This is not my first similar experience of the ivy in marlow...
A much more subtle, natural and consistent approach would be better than overkill and then being ignored.
On the plus side, the food was good
We had to wait twenty minutes for our table and then is wasn't in the area we had requested. A little unclear who our waitress/waiter was so service was a bit hit and miss. We were charged for three glasses of Prosecco instead of the one my wife ordered. Overall the food was up to the usual standard. Excellent C-19 set up
Great place at any time of day, food and service consistently good.
Lovely as always! With lockdown I have to say the spaces between tables is brilliant! Prior to lockdown the tables were, in my opinion, far too close together and it was impossible to enjoy a more intimate meal.
Also perhaps a little less vinegar could be used to make poached eggs - can always taste it !
Poor bacon onfull English breakfast almost raw Coffee service very slow way after food arrived.
Very good service well monitored when arrived regarding COVID 19 procedures
Really nice setting. Very pleasant staff. Makes you feel special
we were absolutely impressed. service was impeccable and staff were helpful and friendly. Food was superb. everything was amazing and we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. So refreshing to go somewhere where customer service has not been forgotten.
Food was very nice but think drinks are slightly over priced.
Service could have been improved. Had to ask for clean cutlery after starters etc
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Food was good
toilet were nice
Amazing food and well looked after by staff. I think we had a new waitress who made a few mistakes which were quickly rectified. A very enjoyable evening.
Absolutely loved it.
Definitely will be re booking
Top star service
Order all delivered at the same time despite instruction
No offer to correct
The wine is very expensive
Staff very polite and pleased to offer an alternative table
Ambience very good
Impeccable customer service, nice ambience and some good food!
Lovely afternoon with great food, drinks and service.
The whole experience from the welcome at the door to the experience of great portions, fresh food and excellent customer service To the ambience of the dining area. Made the whole time enjoyable and made my partners birthday a great memory and we will be back, so thank you to all the ballroom staff and front of house staff
A fabulous location for a girlie catch up - food was as gorgeous as always, and the service was fast, efficient and the right side of attentive. Thank you!
The ambience in the restaurant and the quality of the food were certainly up to expectations, but as each course arrived almost as soon as the cutlery went down from the last one, it felt like a race against time to finish the meal.
It was a lovely brunch with friends. Food and service were wonderful and we felt very safe with the social distancing measures which were put in place.
Perfect breakfast for vegetarian and the carnivores! Friendly and laidback whilst feeling indulgent!
We arrived on time for 7:30 table, we had to wait 20 mins and were seated in a very cold draught under the air con. Once seated At the table, we were not shown or told of the specials. Our orders were placed and the food came after a short wait. My husbands expensive steak was edible but tasteless. There was no finess, or special feeling about the place. Having eaten in the Ivy Oxford the day before, this was like a poor second cousin. Disappointing.
As usual the food and service were good but we were seated right in front of the swing doors to the garden at the back and it was cold and draughty.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was good. The food however was very average, cold and with the current Covid time restrictions we had 5mins left on our ‘slot’ to eat our desert and pay. It’s certainly not the staffs fault but the Covid rules have made it difficult to enjoy and savour what is essentially a pretty expensive meal.
The Ivy was not following fully COVID rules
The service very poor with new staff not fully trained
Spacious and considerate staff. Did not have to wait too long for service
Great food. Service overall wasn’t the best, the Covid situation doesn’t help matters, but we were originally turned away for being 10 minutes early to our table, after having queued outside in the cold, and then when we came back it felt like we were given a table that was meant for a larger group anyway - very strange, but I didn’t appreciate this being heavily pregnant, made to be too fuzzy, nor did I like all the stairs to get to the loo. Overall though food and drinks were great and reasonable priced.
Beautifully furnished restaurant - excellent food presentation and quality
Always a good level of good food and good service!
Hard to say exactly what is so good about Ivy Marlow - it’s all just so good!
Staff were helpful & very pleasant. My friends enjoyed their meals of blackened cod & curry. Unfortunately I had the burger with the addition of cheese. I had to send the burger back as it was cremated & very dry, the burger I then got was still dry & the cheese was nearly non existent, so for £16 + £2 for the cheese it was not very good value for money either.
Poor standard compared to the Edinburgh restaurant, the hostess showing you to your table was very self important, I did not realise she was doing us a favour.
The monkfish & prawn curry and lobster linguine were poor quality.
The waiting team were good but overall the Marlow Ivy was disappointing and I would not recommend it.
1. The waiter who served us spilt water twice on the table no apology no clean up.
2. We asked for the heating to be put on and it wasn't.
3. My main was cold.
4. We were one drink short when we asked the waiter he was very unprofessional and in fact quibbled with us that we hadn't ordered 4 drinks.
5. The quality of the fish gujons was very dire it was soaked in oil with a very unpleasant taste.
I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, really good service throughout.
Great service and great food. Tables well spaced and Covid safe
Quality food with decent service, even in the COVID-19 times.
Great to have a proper ladies lunch!
Delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere!
Lovely place to go to , food was delicious. Staff friendly. Small cake with a candle brought out for my son's birthday.
