A fabulous evening celebrating various special birthdays
Great return visit to Marlow. Great food and very attentive service. Would recommend.
Argument about our drinks order at the table and cold eggs. Sadly not their finest hour.
If you are worried about social distancing and the restaurant team wearing masks. That's all gone. Very few wearing masks and tables close together again.
Still hand sanitizer on the tables.
Will be back as its one of our 'treat' places but probably not for a while.
Can not wait to return.
Location, choice, service, setting all very good.
We had a great brunch. Really baby friendly which is fantastic
Lovely evening. Thank you so much for making such a special celebration
Best around when taken together food quality, price, service and ambiance. Never disappoints.
Holy guacamole what a great night! The menu choices are fantastic - I literally wanted to try everything! The decor is lovely too - so different and unusual - very cool! Favourite things were the chocolate bombe dessert and The Candy Man and Ivy Sling cocktails. Can’t wait to go again!!
Fabulous venue and great food! Such a treat for the senses.
Service was a bit slow and a round of drinks which I ordered were forgotten until I chased this up.
Great location, lovely food and friendly service. Only negative was when the bill came. We had a voucher for afternoon tea for 2 (bought and received as a birthday in March this year). The voucher states it’s valid for 12 months, yet the first bill showed it as only part payment.
When questioned I was told that it’s “a problem with head office” as the price had gone up. It was eventually resolved as I held my ground - insisted I would only cover extras and the service charge, the voucher covered the cost of afternoon tea for 2.
This really isn’t acceptable service. If you sell vouchers for people to give as gifts, the recipients shouldn’t have to pay more… or be put in the position where they have to question the bill. Leaves a rather unpleasant taste.
Shame as it took the edge off a very lovely afternoon tea experience… you can do better than this!
We had a lovely lunch food service excellent. Would prefer wine by the bottle not carafe. Only real complaint
was the two seater table far too close together you could hear every word of the next tables conversation very off putting
Outstanding service, highly recommended really made my friends birthday really special, can’t wait to return
the Ivy never disappoints .. wonderful ambience, great staff … highly recommend
Another lovely experience overall. Greta service, great food and the carpaccio of tuna deserves a visit on its own. 5/5
Not sure what had gone wrong, but something certainly had, as we had the worst experience of The Ivy Marlow Garden.
Turned up for our 8.30pm booking to be told we would have to wait about 10 minutes, but even then we were just moved to the bar with a complimentary drink for the delay, but unfortunately it was just the first one. Then told there would be a longer wait and could they bring us some nibbles which they duly did.
Finally taken to a very small round table at about 9pm and given our menus and then we just sat there. No one came to take an order despite walking past us innumerable times. We had to call over one of the hosts who went and got someone to take our order by this point it was about 9.20pm.
Placed our orders and about 10 minutes later, still without our drinks, we were told our main courses were no longer available and to choose again and they would come back in 2 minutes, sadly they never did. My friend had to grab one of the managers to take our food order and ask where our drinks were.
A few minutes later we got 3 of the 4 drinks we ordered - I had to chase for my non alcoholic cocktail twice more. Food finally arrived about 10pm, though one side order still missing which again we had to chase for.
When the restaurant emptied out a bit it seemed a little more in control. In fairness when we asked for our bill they had removed all drinks as an apology for the unacceptable service which we did appreciate. And some mention was made of being really busy as other places were closed. If the latter is true then either The Ivy over committed itself or took walk ins at the expense of people who had booked.
Sadly I am unlikely to visit again in the near future after this type of experience when there are other reliable places to go and especially not for any kind of occasion!
Service poor, mainly by inept server.
Food well over cooked with poor presentation and attention to detail.
Caveat all what I’ve said as was very busy but that doesn’t help me as the bill was the same regardless.
Attentive service, outstanding food, lovely setting. Recommend.
Too close to neighbouring tables. Men's toilet too far away. My husband has heart trouble and found the stairs too much.
I had requested a little birthday msg on my husbands pudding but as we didn’t order one (so full!!) - the staff could have at least wished him a Happy Birthday?!
But that aside it was lovely 😍😍
A beautiful venue, fantastic food and friendly helpful staff. I have already booked my next afternoon tea visit
The welcome and service throughout our meal was exceptional even though the restaurant was very busy.
Every meal was amazing and the cocktails and Gavi were delicious .
Will definitely return soon.
Amazing lunch with the swimming mums. Wonderful setting, absolutely lovely food and brilliant staff who were the right level of attentive. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic service and excellent food. The staff were delightful!
Excellent food, great service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. A good place to meet clients for lunch.
Lovely Birthday meal in a very attractive courtyard
Efficient staff and great atmosphere, enjoyed our visit very much.
We had a wonderful meal for our anniversary dinner . The staff were very attentive and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
Enjoyable experience and really enjoyed the experience
Will not revisit. Having being told the dress code was Smart Casual was very disappointed to be seated near a person wearing flip flops, training shorts and a singlet top!
Win some lose some I guess. Not The Ivy I loved before lockdown!
The kithchen was clearly under strain, the food wasn’t the quality it usually is and everything was a bit late. The nibbles came out after the starters too. Otherwise good and waiters were great.
Great meal out with colleagues, cannot say a bad word, really great
Really nice outdoor seating very attractively decorated with running water fountain. Service was very good. Slight mixup with the bill but the manager sorted it out very discreetly.
Fantastic,l food and environment!
I am definitely going back again!
Outdoor setting was amazing. Was disappointed with the food being completely honest, steaks were average and cold but it had taken so long for us to order them and for them to arrive we didn’t want to send them back. The prices charged I would expect far higher quality of food and better service in terms of speed. The table next to us complained about waiting for over an hour for their food also. Real shame as the outdoor setting was amazing
This was my first visit and I wanted to treat my husband for his birthday. We had been recommended to this restaurant by friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and attentiveness of the staff. Cannot wait to revisit.
Sat in their garden at the back which was magical. Great service initially, but faltered as they got busier. Food really nice. Will definitely be back but will make sure it is in a quieter period.
A superb afternoon tea in the lovey garden outside. Thank you
It's my favourite.... the staff are dressed immaculately, charming and efficient. The menu isn't big which I prefer and the whole atmosphere and decor lovely. Would highly recommend.
