The Ivy is an unusual building We were greeted by 2 very nice young ladies one to booked us in and one to take our coats. It’s a very large restaurant, we were shown to our table and we were looked after straight away. My friend and I had a starter which was very good. The main course equally as good unfortunately too full to sample dessert. This was a lunchtime visit Highly recommend a visit

Excellent service.. very attentive without being obtrusive…Bogdan our waiter was lovely and so helpful. I visited with friends for lunch Wednesday… I had Stilton walnut soufflé followed by mushroom truffle tagliatelle and both were absolutely delicious….all of us really enjoyed our chosen dishes. Altogether a tip top lunch in lovely surroundings.

My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary with a lunch. She chose fish and chips (which she always does..) and I had the duck curry followed by Christmas pudding. Both were excellent although I should have asked for more custard (personal preference for mushy puddings). Carole had a glass of Chablis and I had Rioja - both excellent. As I was driving immediately after the meal I had to exercise restraint and leave some wine - a 125ml option would be helpful. I had an excellent decaffeinated americano coffee and the anniversary profiteroles were a nice gesture which were boxed and enjoyed later. Our table was for 2 seated on the inner ring adjacent to the bar in the rotunda half way between the entrance and service doors. On reflection I should have requested the outer ring of tables as there was some noise from the bar and a lot of staff and customer movement around us. However, the overall experience was good and we were attentively looked after by an Italian gentleman (apologies I can’t recall his name). Thank you, Chris

The vegetables served as sides to the main course were tasteless and of a consistency that suggested they were frozen and not fresh (green beans and sprouts). Our coffee accompaniment to the desserts was served tepid and having requested replacement pots of coffee, we were not served these until we had to remind another waiter of the situation. Overall, a draughty seating area next to the central bar with over-priced food of poor quality in places left the two of us quite content that we would not return by choice.

Lovely setting and great staff. Very few Christmas decorations - only a tree thst was at the back and we couldn’t see, not the end of the world but a bit of a shame.. I had asked for a nice table for my mums 80th birthday but we were seated by the entrance to the main restaurant on a very cold day. My mum was very cold and is sick today with a cold so I do feel guilty and a bit annoyed at the restaurant gir putting an 80 year old at the door.. we had pre booked our table.

Took my Goddaughter here to celebrate her 18th birthday for an Afternoon Tea. After we had sat down and chosen our drinks it was very hard to get anyones attention to request a refill. Nobody asked us if we were enjoying ourselves and the food etc. Then when I went to pay the bill it was nearly £30 more than advertised!! Didnt want to embarrass myself to ask why in front of my Goddaughter but I was not impressed.

The service and quality at The Ivy was exceptional. The restaurant itself was comfortable, very well designed and the live music was delightful. Two small comets …constructive I hope… First the service charge was too much. and secondly the level of noise made conversation very difficult. We had two people with hearing aids in our group and communication for them was impossible. If your booking process offered the opportunity to book quiet dining ie outside the rotunda itself we would be more inclined to dine with you again. Many thanks

Having requested a table in the main restaurant when booking & confirming this by ‘phone we were showed to a side room. Fortunately the Manager Luke then found us a table for four as requested in the main restaurant. Not a good start but “alls well that ends well”. Thank you Luke.

I had the blackened cod and it was amazing. All the food looked incredible. Great atmosphere and the staff were lush. I like that they give their staff zones, so you will have a dedicated team member looking after you. Exceptional in every possible way

Service was not good wrong starter given red wine spilled on table when pouring service on a whole very poor and i paid £20 for this poor service and no discount even offered on a plus side the food was very good just a shame that on a birthday celebration was ruined by bad service feel free to contact me because after a bill of over £200 this was not good

It took a long time to get served. Table at 8. Food at 9 pm Sea bass came with a sauce but no vegetables or garnish at all, so would have had to pay another £5 or £6 for broccoli or potatoes. Disappointing
