Had a really lovely afternoon tea we were asked if we had any allergies and any dietary requirements and asked if we wanted water for the table. The selection of the food on offer was great and we were told what each item was we even had 2 scones each. We were informed that if there was anything we couldn't eat they could box it up for us. I've never been given that option anywhere else so did appropriate the offer also less food going to waste we also appreciated the offer of a second pot of tea. The staff were brilliant they did keep coming to check if everything was OK and if we needed anything. There was a great atmosphere the place was quite full lots of sounds of people chatting and the music in the background which only could be heard now and then when there was a dull in sound. We will definitely be going again in the future.

Amazing ambiance, wonderful food. Loved the allergy app. Disappointing that the service changed once it was clear we were not willing to be upsold desert or coffee, and took 50 mins to get our bill and four requests despite staff only having four tables to serve. Food and wine fantasric

I have dined in other restaurants in this chain and have always found this one in Cheltenham to be the most consistent in its high standard of food and service! Well done Team Ivy Cheltenham!

We visit The Ivy for a special occasions. We have visited The Ivy in Bham and Oxford and never been disappointed. It is quintessentially English with professional service and superb food. The experience is ‘The Ivy’. We therefore chose The Ivy at Cheltenham for our 45th wedding anniversary but were sadly disappointed. There was no one thing that was poor - everything was ‘okay’; there was no one thing that was so bad it needed to be complained about, rather the combination screamed ‘mediocre’. We commented as we left that we could have gone to our local ‘Miller and Carter’, had a better meal and paid much less….. We arrived and were sat on a single tale, between two other couples, even though there were many empty tables free. I had to ask to be moved and told I had the choice of all tables i could see! Why did it take me asking to be seated on a larger table with space to spread my elbows where I wouldn’t be overheard? We asked for a beer - there was no beer. The waiter was nice enough but his attire was sloppy. His bow tie was loose and hanging down, his shirt casual. Another chap was walking round with a clipboard seemingly completing an audit of alcohol - his green Ivy jacket was clearly two sizes too small…. When did the dress standard drop for the staff… As said, the food was ‘okay’. My beef was tasty. Green beans warm (not hot). Three times we were asked if we were celebrating anything - three times we said yes and three times the waiter / waitress walked away. Is this a standard question you teach staff to ask and if so, please encourage them to add a follow up question or not ask at all’. Asking makes the client feel important and heard… as it was, we felt ignored as the question was quite clearly ‘contrived’ and the response not important. I was disappointed and challenged the service charge. I didn’t feel it was the fault of the waiter but do feel the leadership and quality are lacking and they have become complacent.

Our family came for brunch to The Ivy on Saturday morning! The food was fresh and delicious! The service was outstanding.They gladly catered for my vegan diet and were informative and polite!

I would love to give 5 stars across the board, but there was a little something left to be desired towards the end of our meal. With only a few tables left dining, staff was busy tackling their side work around the restaurant. I understand a certain amount of this, but it's pretty detracting from your experience when it feels like you're eating in a closed restaurant where you don't really belong anymore. And things like starting to turn off accent lighting on plants were especially bad. That said, service was generally good. More attentive towards the beginning than the end which did feel like rushing to get us our food so staff could get to side work... Food was very good and reasonably priced for the portion sizes. We'd go back.
