The Ivy Montpellier Brasserie, Cheltenham
Located in the stunning grade I listed Montpellier Rotunda building, the restaurant serves breakfast, elevenses, lunch, weekend brunch, afternoon tea and dinner and features a private dining room and a bar, offering relaxed yet sophisticated dining in the popular town in Gloucestershire.
Simply fantastic- the lunch time set menu is excellent value for money. We have to travel some distance to get to this venue and it is worth every mile for one of their salted Carmel martinis 🍸!
Rather wonderful experience, attentive lovely staff serving exquisite dishes
A fantastic place to enjoy work or leisure at any time of the day!
My wife and I had breakfast - poached eggs on a muffin with ham/avocado - but they were warm rather than hot.
Everything else was truly wonderful
The venue is amazing, interior design is exceptional and really special place to go.
I had told the restaurant it was a birthday celebration but this was not acknowledged, my husband asked for his steak rare and it was served medium rare - and the waitress insisted that was what he’d ordered although he hadn’t but rather than make a fuss he took it anyway.
In the Rotunda it is noisy when full - do you really need loud music as well?
Otherwise the food, service and value was fine.
Excellent service and food all round. Cocktails at bar and drinks generally a little slow but service attentive all the same. Scallops and Turbot were spot on as were my wife's tempura squid and prawns and the venison. Managed to fit in a delightfully light but decant plantation rum baba. I like to have someone make something better than I can at home and expectations were surpassed here.
Food and atmosphere was great but service was slow. Seated at 19:30 and didn’t get our main courses until 21:30.
Amazing meal cocktails
Great place to be, amazing food. Prices ok for fine dining.
We had a wonderful time apart from the noise which when you have large parties is unavoidable.
The food and service was very good ,we would and have recommended you to lots of our friends.
Went for a Xmas catch up with a couple of friends. We ate off the main menu rather than ‘Fixed Price Lunch menu’. Slightly more expensive but worth it. Our waiter couldn’t have been more helpful and lovely !
Fabulous food, amazing venue, great atmosphere and attentive staff. You can't beat The Ivy!
Lovely atmosphere, fantastic attentive service but not intrusive and great food, would return for a special occasion
The food and service was fantastic. We sat in an area away from the bar so the atmosphere was quieter yet still bustling. I loved the Ivy and will be back
We went for a cream tea with friends. As always, we were really well looked after and it was great value for money.
Great food, excellent venue overall a very enjoyable experience
Was expecting the Ivy to be a great place to eat but even so they exceeded our expectations. Food was delicious, service was subtle but very attentive with all staff at the high standard you would expect from this type of establishment. We were there for a weekday lunch and it was fairly quiet numbers wise so maybe this helped though I’m sure it’s just as good when busy. Layout of this converted Lloyds Bank in Montpellier, which I remember well, has been really well designed so doesn’t have that ‘typical restaurant’ feel. Of course this isn’t the cheapest place to have a meal, however it’s clear from the start what you are paying a premium for and it wasn’t as pricy as you may think!. If you are after a great meal, to feel a bit special and well treated then The Ivy is high on our recommendation - will certainly be going again.
This was the 2nd visit to the Ivy... staff were very friendly and the food was very good. A couple of points; the tables for 2 are quite small in the Rotunda area , we ordered some warm bread as an apertizer but we never received it. Overall good experience and the food was very good. Good choice of food on the menu and a good selection of drinks from the bar.
We will go again.
Great location with festive decorations. Friendly and professional service and great tasty well presented foid
Afternoon Tea treat formy family was excellent. Food, Service and atmosphere just right for a relaxed afternoon.
Excellent first class service and food ,the 3course set meal was fine dining at half the price, the lamb was to die for.
Such a beautiful location. Food is always good.
Wonderful location exquisite food. Need a little more time in between courses, seemed a little rushed to get out our main after the starter but delicious none the less
Definitely recommend. Was extra special with all the Christmas decorations outside, and excited to try the afternoon tea in the future
I’ve been to several ‘The Ivy’ restaurants and this was the best by far (the others were Marlow, Marylebone, Covent Garden), this one was closest to the original which is still my favourite.
Great atmosphere, decor, service and food.
Excellent food ! Very good lobster risotto and perfect steak.
The building is beautiful, the food was delicious was a little disappointing that only four meals arrived not five and one of our party had to wait. I also had to ask the waiter to leave clearing plates until everyone had finished eating
My first time at The Ivy and I was very impressed.
Service was excellent from the moment we walked through the door. Very helpful and attentive staff.
I ordered the duck curry and it was delicious.
Will definitely be returning.
Lovely lunch - lovely atmosphere - nice and lively 😊
Was really lovely food. Lovely building and lovely place. Felt we were rushed to leave once we had chosen not to have desert. So a bit disappointed by that.
A table in the inner dome section is a must, the decor, atmosphere and ambience make this a truly wonderful experience.
The staff from the minute you walk in greet you and look after you well without pestering you when you have a mouth full of food to check all is ok.
Reasonable priced, excellent quality and portion size.
Bridging the gap between the pretentious upper class eatery and the place to visit for an experience of dinning for that special occasion where you don't feel out of place.
Would definitely recommend
booked for a 30th birthday lunch, service was a little slow and felt a little neglected. food was presented very well and tasty but there was know real sense of a personal touch.
a real shame
Beautiful interior and design, lovely layout, food was lovely, and the staff were very polite and attentive.
fabulous experience for my mum's 94th birthday lunch - very impressed with both food and service
Nice menu. We didnt feel some staff were very welcoming. The seating was awkward, with a particularly small table for 5 people, in fact we struggled to fit our meal plates and drinks glasses on the table. Our waitress was very sweet. The building and ambiance was delightful, with the recent Christmas decorations.
Fantastic service from the moment you arrive. Excellent meal and drinks it never disappoints
Overall a great experience, the only thing I would say is that the service was a little slow and not very engaging. Food was fantastic, couldn’t fault it!
Staff wouldn’t allow us to sit at the bar prior to ordering !
