The Ivy Norwich Brasserie
The brasserie is accessible and relaxed, holding back a number of tables for walk-ins, allowing locals to drop in throughout the day at their leisure. Whether visiting for a relaxing breakfast, working lunch, cocktails with friends or a three-course dinner, The Ivy Norwich Brasserie
The food is very good here, but I feel that the portions are rather on the small side. I do not mind paying a decent price for good food, but I feel there should be a little more generous portions served. We ordered separate dishes of vegetables to 'pad out' our main meal which I did not expect. When I visited the same restaurant last October, the portion size seemed more appropriate for the cost of the dishes - in fact, even the vegetable portions had reduced considerably. The Ivy at Liverpool Street seems to have better value for money, although the prices are the same, there is more for the price.
Lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff. Thank you.
What you expect from the Ivy, top class. Always a joy to eat there, great staff and food.
Went for a romantic birthday lunch and were really impressed. Stunning building inside & really well decorated. Food, service and ambiance all excellent. Recommend the gin and tonics. It’s not cheap - a two course meal and a gin and tonic for us both plus service charge, which is automatically added, came to £66. This is based on their lunchtime set menu. If you ate from the main menu it would be more. For special occasions this ticks all the right boxes and we will look forward to going back there.
First visit to the Ivy in Norwich, unfortunately it wasn’t the best. Three lunches arrived but we had to wait 5/10 mins for the other two lunches. We ordered drinks and waited for them to arrive but needed to ask twice for them to be arrive, about 25 mins waiting for the drinks. This happened a 2nd time again we asked twice before they arrived. I feel there was a lack of staff available and it sure how your system work.....everybody was very polite. Because of the reputation of The Ivy, I would have expected so much more.
Really nice setting. Nice romantic meal planned and the venue didn’t fail to deliver
Very attentive and helpful bar staff.
Food very good. We both had steak and felt that it had too much salt on it- not clear if it was a ‘rub’ that was used in it. Fed back to waiter who, rather disappointingly, just nodded and walked away
Sadly awful! The swordfish was soggy and the wine (which was not cheap) was really not good. Worst of all, we didn’t see one person smile and got served by a different person every time! never again!
Nice experience for my birthday. The food was great. Service good, the waitress even apologized as we had to wait a while for main course. We will definitely visit again in near future. Thank you
Let down by the lack of service. Slow and lack of attention to detail. Asked for a quiet table which they acknowledged but was sat next to the serving station?!
Food was good but service was awful. The waitress needs to smile more and not be so curt. If you wish to put 12.5% service charge on the bill then I expect service to be exceptional.
Can highly recommend the whole experience at The Ivy.
The whole Ivy experience was delightful, always makes me come back.
booked for our third wedding anniversary couldn't fault the place food was nice but the service was disappointing ordered drinks and starters with our main meal drinks and starters came no problem was told after waiting at least 30 min's mains where on the way but was told they had a party of 40 they where looking after eventually it arrived and was very nice they did adjust the bill to suit but was disappointed after all it was a special occasion
Most gorgeous evening. Service amazing, staff outstanding, food fantastic. What more can you ask for.
Wonderful surroundings and decor. Friendly and polite staff. Food delicious.
Wonderful experience. The waitress was very attentive and recommended dishes. It was my wife’s birthday and the small, birthday dessert was a lovely touch
An excellent lunch in a restaurant that is full of character.
Lunch felt grown-up but friendly and the food was excellent.
Excellent food and ambiance - just right for a birthday lunch for my wife!
Good decor and ambiance but completely overpriced for the calibre of the food.
Nice atmosphere, staff very welcoming and service throughout was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and drinks. Small cake with candle for my wife’s birthday was a nice, not too over the top touch. Will definitely be back.
A lovely setting for ladies that lunch - food was very good, we will definitely be back.
We had a lovely night, the service was faultless. We felt very well looked after and the waiter was very perceptive to our needs. The food, (mozzarella, pollenta and seafood) and Prosecco were outstanding. It had a relaxed and friendly, but not intrusive atmosphere. We would highly recommend this restaurant. A wonderful treat for any occasion. We will definitely be dining there again.
Enjoyed our visit - Food is brasserie style, ie fairly hearty and not fussily presented, but none the worse for it . Pleasant interaction with bar and serving staff. interesting decor!
4 stars is for this type of establishment, can't compare with, say, Roger Hickman's more sophisticated offerings, but very good nevertheless.
We have regularly enjoyed very good food in a great atmosphere since The Ivy Brasserie opened in Norwich. The menu offers a good choice and caters well for all. They are still many things I'd like to try in spite of the number of times with dined at The Ivy. I'm also a big fan of the Craft Beer! Delightful. Excellent all round dining experience.
We had booked this to celebrate our daughters 21st having been to Covent Garden and City Ivy’s and finding them top drawer. The decor is beautiful and well set out. There was unexpected live music which added to the atmosphere. Whilst the staff were attentive If anything too much so, as soon as the starters were finished they were taken away and the mains followed very quickly - which made the occasion a lot quicker than we had anticipated. They were efficient but it would have been lovely for them to smile a little . The food was good and matched the standards of their other brasseries. We would definitely return.
Amazing staff!! The food was delicious and the cocktails were incredible. Thank you :)
We had the best breakfast here food was amazing ambience was just perfect and staff extremely friendly, we will be back
The Ivy is a fabulous place .. its decorated so lovely and with lovely chandeliers.
The food was great , prawn cocktails not quite so good as last visit but still good
The bread we ordered blew us away
To get the whole loaf was a lovely touch .
We eat here once every 6-8 weeks and its always a treat
We were a bit worried about the service we might get, as a friend said that they had a long wait for their drinks, but we found the service excellent. The drinks and the food came out quickly, and we were asked a number of times if everything was ok. The food was delicious and the place had a stylish, elegant and friendly atmosphere. Thank you.
After speaking with friends who have been our experience was disappointing. They had cocktails mixed at their table etc. So we were looking forward to some of the same. We had none of such attention. We also asked for water on the table it this never arrived. We seem to have been forgotten and therefore the dining experience was very average although the prices etc didn’t reflect this! We were charged £24 for service which we feel as a group it wasn’t warranted.
Fantastic food as always
This was our 3rd visit this time just myself and my husband it rounded off our weekend Norwich 😊
Great place with good food and excellent service. A bit overpriced.
We went to The Ivy for my Birthday, just myself my husband and adult son. The food was delivered timely and was hot, which was good. The food was not as good as we expected form feedback we had received. The waiter lent across my son and husband on several occasions. He did apologies once, but really he should have walked around the table rather than leaning over. One drink we ordered was not delivered.
The atmosphere was energetic and lively, the down side was the ambient noise was so loud even on our small table of for three we could not hear each other so conversation was almost impossible.
Beautifully decorated, but we could not hear each other talk. Nor could we hear the waitress. She mumbled the specials. Also, the person who brought our food from the kitchen, was not the one ‘allowed’ to bring it to the table. So it just sat there, basically next to us. Do not understand that at all from a service/quality point of view... it’s putting food on the table, there should be no ranking in staff!
So, great food and drinks, acoustics and logistics: let’s work on those!
We took a friend to celebrate her birthday, it as a nice touch to present her with a dessert lit by a candle which was complimentary. We enjoyed our two course meal from the A la Carte menu and would return again.
Really amazing lunch, thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t wait to go back!
Delicious food great service beautiful surroundings we picked from the set lunch time menu perfect portions been a number of times and consistent nothing to fault
Great service and great food. Lovely waitress! Will definitely be coming back
Outstanding waitress service by Abby? Thoroughly enjoyable lunch experience. Definitely want to go again and would recommend it to all our friends. My only concerned is the seating arrangements, in that the chairs seem a little too low for the tables
