Food was faultless.
Service although very good was little over oppressive immediately after being seated, not enough time to look through drinks menu and food menu before orders trying to be taken.
Our Table for two was very close to next table, Small complaints which are easily rectified.
Overall very good experience.
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience at the Ivy, Norwich. We were given a table in the bar area which was very busy, particularly for my husband whose chair was in a walk-way through to the main restaurant area, and customers & staff had to squeeze past him. However, we did ask for a change in table which was offered to us. A major flaw was you did not offer non-alcoholic beer which really is a must these days for drivers. We found that quite incredible Another major flaw is the design of the Ivy is the amount of stairs you have to climb to use the toilets. Having osteoarthritis of the knees I myself definitely could not have managed the stairs but fortunately you did have a disabled toilet on ground level which I used. This said my husband and a relative who used the upper floor toilets commented what an effort it was to reach them. We thought the portion size of food was very small - almost like a child's portion! Not sure if we would return.
I took my Husband, Daughtyand her Boyfriend here for my husbands birthday, the food was excellent and the service impeccable.
Excellent experience from start to finish. Will definitely be back.
Our waitress was lovely but only when she stepped out of her ridged script. The rest of the staff lack a personality due to a script that had to follow. Its wasn't partically relaxing in there and the food was very expensive considering you don't even get chips with a £22 steak. My OJ and lemonade was £7 And not even a pint. Real shame as the places looks amazing. The lady that served us though (short brown hair) was amazing and a really credit to that place.
An outstanding meal and excellent service, thank you
Was very noisy as patty of ladies came in after 9 so had probably been drinking and were very loud. Because of high ceilings the noise tended to travel so I couldn't say it was a romantic setting.
I didn't have a dessert but my partner did so I orderrd a cocktail instead - it would have been nice if the cocktail and dessert came out at same time. My partner had finished his dessert by time I got my cocktail.
Outstanding place to eat food was amazing and a lovely restaurant to dine in couldn’t fault it fantastic decor very smart
Food was ok. Nothing at all special.
Dined with another couple. Bill was £280 of which £38 was service charge and £9.80 for a G&T - beware. They sell doubles as standard, you have to request a single measure. Seems a bit backward to me.
Wouldn’t hurry back. It’s all a bit of a hype having the name in Norwich.
Sorry to say I wasn’t impressed at all and was left disappointed.
As a vegan I was left hungry after a main with a side and a desert. A small portion of vegan risotto just wasn't enough especially when compared to the curry that my partner ordered, I even had a side of veg with it.
Again, the desert of sliced fruit and "yoghurt" for £7.50 seemed expensive when compared to my dining partners whole apple tart with ice cream and added theatre. The fact I could chose between sliced fruit or sorbet as a vegan just felt lazy and uninspiring.
That being said non vegan food looked and apparently tasted great and the service was really friendly.
Unfortunately I was left a little disappointed. Maybe somewhat of my own doing as I hadn’t looked at the menu prior to going & expected a la carte. A la carte it most definitely is not. & for the first time ever I had a menu that I couldn’t find anything that I fancied. I resorted to trusty fish, however found my fish bland & plain. Although the staff were attentive may a little overly so as my husband poured on the toffee sauce on his desert a waitress took away the sauce & pot leaving no chance to squeeze any last bit of sauce out. I would say it’s overpriced at least £5 over on the mains & £3-4 over on starters & deserts. Being a big red wine lover for £30 a bottle I was expecting a lovely full bodied red, first one we tried was very acidic & the second we just made do as the cost of the bottles were going beyond £35 upwards. Maybe a breakfast or afternoon tea would be better, but definitely wouldn’t go again for an evening meal
We had a very nice pre-theatre dinner. It is quite pricey, but still a fab place to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the food/bubbles/ambience/ourselves. The service is also very good :-) We will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely go back
Very nice looking restaurant. Would go back, though unfortunately my companions wouldn't. Their food had a mustard sauce inside which wasn't on the ingredient list, they both felt it rather overpowering and spoilt the food. Had they known it contained mustard they would of ordered something else. My other companion ordered the the monkfish curry which he said was very nice but the portion of rice came in a very small bowl, it would of been better having slightly more rice. We were given the main menu when seated and I didn't find many vegetarian options, only finding out after the meal there is a vegetarian menu. The restaurant is very noisy!
I love the Ivy as it feels like a treat but it has a wide selection of food, for all tastes, including comfort food.
Went there with my siblings and partners who were very happy with the options. Like the fact they asked how we want the fish cooked, not just the meat, which is not common. Fantastic shepherds pie as usual. Loved the orange espresso martinis and the caramel one too. Service was almost perfect, and when needed things were put right immediately - can’t ask more than that. Good wine list across the range of prices, and a reasonable selection of beers, ciders etc.
Was a bit noisy for a while but rather that than cathedral quiet.
After living in London seem very reasonable price wise, but I’m sure not everyone will feel the same.
Will definitely go again.
Lovely food and fantastic service. Great cocktails too 😊 Cannot fault this place.
I liked the feel of a Grand Café, a place to celebrate, stylish décor with a period feel. The food was good and service was attentive.
My daughter and I had booked for a breakfast, the staff were outstanding and very attentive, food amazing and ambience great.
Great breakfast, and open early at 08.00 excellent service,
Lovely resturant and great staff with a good atmousphere my only criticism is that the tables are a little too close together and as a couple it felt like we where sitting with others so the tables along the walls I would recommend removing at least one or maybe two tables. The food is delicious and the staff are excellent .
It’s a lovely reatraurant, but when we arrived and sat down took ages to get our drinks. We were then told most of the fish dishes were not available this evening this was disappointing as 3 of the party are mostly fish eaters. When one of our guest said this was not good enough the waitress then proceeded to tell us this was not her fault.
The food was well below expectation. The tuna to start was masked by the huge about of spicy sauce. The steaks for main were overdone even though they were requested to be rare. Many better places to eat in and around Norwich and unfortunately we won’t be returning.
Lovely friendly atmosphere staff very good food lovely
Very good venue to celebrate special occasion. It was my birthday. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. However the olives (6 in all) were very good but an eye watering £3.75! The wine list was good but grossly overpriced ( Provencale Rose £48!!!).
The service was excellent but we were attended by at least 8 different waiters.
The bar area was very noisy and l would recommend that you ask to be seated at the back of the ground floor or the much quieter 1st floor. Overall we had a very good dining experience but could not afford to go back too often.
Fantastic! The food was amazing and spot on! Looking forward to going back soon!
Excellent food and wine with very attentive staff. I love The Ivy.
Beautiful decor and very stylish....food great and not too expensive. Well worth a visit. I really feels like a treat to go there.
We arrived early and were seated straight away. The waiting staff were quick to get everything we needed.
Food was delicious
Really enjoyed our lunch, great food, good atmosphere. Will definitely return.
So disappointed after going to The Ivy in Marylebone & Chelsea so many times.
Our food was tired & stale & should never of reached our table.
Had a breakfast with friends for a birthday. Fantastic service and food.
Very average food and drinks at very expensive prices, much better restaurants in norwich , It will do well initially but once people have tried it you won’t have any trouble booking a table
A great new addition to the food scene in Norwich. Service and food were both great
The meal was fine and the service was friendly and attentive.
Amazing experience dining at The Ivy Norwich Brasserie last week with a friend for lunch - the service was incredible, like no other restaurant in Norwich, and the atmosphere was really wonderful. The restaurant is so beautifully designed and the food was delicious - couldn't have been better!
A lovely restaurant with a good menu selection. Seating is very close and conversation was sometimes hard to follow. Great wait staff who were very attentive. Main issue was the dress code: it doesn't seem correct to have a dress code of smart casual and then allow guests to wear trainers/ripped jeans, especially as the majority of clients do stick to the code.
Excellent service delicious food. A lovely restaurant.
Excellent food excellent service loved the decor. A thoroughly enjoyable experience .Every plate of food was outstanding.Would most definitely recommend it to all friends.
All fabulous. Transports you to another place. Could easily be London or another big city. Feels so glamorous and decadent. A good value Sunday roast would complete the menu and then we could come for every meal whenever we want to go out!
Fabulosity comes to Norwich! Yellow leather banquettes, monkey murals scampering around the walls, shiny bronze tables, sexy chrome bar, truffled arancini and fierce cocktails - what’s not to like?
