Loved the decor, look and feel of the place. The Eggs Royal was superb with the best chips I have had in a long time. I expected more from the dessert and was disappointed by the mulled wine which looked lovely but lacked flavour. Service was efficient, professional and generally friendly although one person who served us lacked warmth.
Expect I will be back for brunch.
Fabulous venue - great decor! Food delightful. Late service on 1st drinks - but they were very apologetic and gave us those late drinks on the house so a good recovery.
Everybody enjoyed the food and the service was good.Other diners a bit intrusive.
Delicious food and attentive service...best shepherds pie and rum baba ever! Would have appreciated some recognition of the birthday celebration though, as mentioned as a special request on our booking
Great find! Lovely food, the only downside was that the washrooms are up 4+ flights of stairs, unless you use the disabled toilet.
Lovely evening celebrating a family birthday. On arrival our table was not quite ready whereby we were offered a complimentary bottle of prosecco which we felt was a lovely gesture. This is my 3rd time here at The Ivy Norwich and look forward to returning soon.
IT was very loud, food was good, table setting not great, service was ok, but I would expect a bit more attention and better knowledge of table manners at a restaurant like this, overall, good place for a casual meal, not something special
Overall nice restaurant though tables a bit close together and rather noisy
This has to be my favourite restaurant in Norwich, great well presented food and happy attentive staff , wonderful.
Well presented and tasty food. Starter did take some time to arrive but was worth the wait. Nice ambience.
Great food. Service good although desserts took a while to arrive and had to be chased up. Would definitely recommend - lovely decor and ambience. Went as a group of girlfriends for lunch.
Good range of choices. Customer service made us feel special. Lovely ambiance. Delicious food and drinks. Decor exquisite.
the food was good and our waitress attentive. she was asked to put the wine on a separate bill but forgot, this caused huge embarrassment.
I found sitting downstairs although beautifully decorated far too noisy.
A delicious meal with attentive, but not irritating staff. By no means cheap but worth it
Great to have a taste of London Style in Norwich !!
We arrived at the restaurant and the person who checked us in offered to take coats and what she thought was a bag of shopping. I said the bag had s ballin in. We were told in no uncertain terms that it was company policy not have helium balloons on the floor. I queried this and suggested I could put the balloon on the table or tied to a chair so it was not in the way of serving staff. Again I was quite rudely told that this was not allowed either. There was no flexibility no apology. This soured the whole experience as if hoed to put the balloon at the table for my daughter 30th birthday. This contrasted to another establishment we visited in the evening who were very welcoming and positively encouraged me to have the balloon. The experience has definitely put me off visiting the ivy again and I will tell others.
Better service than first visit. I still don't understand why drinks order is not taken when we're asked if we'd like water for the table. Still another wait of 20 mins to place drinks order! Continuity of server this time which makes for better attention to table.
We really enjoyed our first visit, would definitely recommend for a special occasion, the restaurant has been decorated very nicely in particular.
Nearly everything from the service, time waiting for food and the actual food itself was really good, the only thing was that the tables do not have a table cloth on them if you arrive before half 5. This then doesn’t make it intimate dining and a little bit more comfort, the choice of cocktails are not very good as nearly all of them have unusual ingredients in them. There’s nothing on draught, so because of this I would have hoped for a better choice elsewhere for example more iconic drinks such as classic beers, cider and cocktails but this was not the case. We needed a few more minutes to decide what to have to eat, but ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for the server to come back to us, all though it wasn’t busy and there was a lot of staff on. But the food came quick we both had starters and had the same scallops which were perfect, then our mains we both had the whole lobster each. The lobster was very tasty, but I had to question how it was cooked because we both have lobster a lot when dining out but this was very tough, hard to cut and almost impossible to take of the shell. Normally it’s very easy and not tough, but I was told it was fresh daily but the server told us it might be it was over cooked as I think it’s boiled then grilled so my guess is it was over grilled. I then had the chocolate bomb for dessert which was worth every penny and tasted delicious and I’ve had this elsewhere before and it was just as good as elsewhere, the server gave us an £8.50 discount because of the lobster which I did not ask for but he done it anyway because we did eat it but it was very tough however it tasted great. Beware of the lavatories there’s a disabled one on the ground floor in the restaurant which is perfect but everyone uses it including ourselves as it’s 6 small flights of steps to the other lavatories which is fine before dinner but an effort after dinner lol. But I would recommend it but next time I will ask for the lobster to be cooked to a preference.
Very poor service, sullen waitress. Was there for birthday meal & wasn't made to feel very special. We had to speak to manager in end, but by then the experience was spoilt. How they feel 12% service is justified is unbelievable, not impressed.
Food was good, but this was overshadowed by overall poor attitude & experience.
First visit for a birthday lunch . I was not disappointed . Everything about the experience felt special . I was even given a birthday cake . Can’t fault anything
We were a little disappointed overall. Nothing could be described as poor but then again for the price we expected much more of a wow factor. Also thought the tables were too close together and the restaurant was too noisy when around half full.
First time at this restaurant and we were very impressed and pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived.
Excellent, interesting, tasty food and nice relaxed atmosphere with a buzz.
First visit, very impressed. Will be a regular customer going forward.
What an amazing experience! Devine food, exceptional service in an amazing setting.
First time we have been, thoroughly enjoyed it. I had duck salad which was divine and steak for main both cooked to perfection.
Lovely friendly waitress, clean and vibrant.
Booked a table for Sunday evening as friends were visiting. Sunday evening was relatively busy but the restaurant was not noisy and we were able to converse with ease. The staff were excellent throughout. The choice of beer was good and the wine list offered a variety of choices. All four of us had a starter and a main. However only two managed a dessert as all the portions were sufficient and filling. I would high recommend the game pie. It was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend to friends and colleagues. I will be visiting again.
It was amazing the food especially the decor and we will be back
The food was OK but you have to pay for side dishes even a bit of salad.... The first 3 bottles of wine we chose weren't available.... The waitress who served us was blunt and didn't smile once! The waiter who served us the wine, however, was very nice. The 12.5% service charge is definitely not justified. The interior is nice but the overall atmosphere is pretentious.
Great service fabulous decor, delicious food. Definitely returning
Service excellent, quality of food superb, ambiance first class
Went to the Ivy Norwich for a birthday celebration, enjoyed excellent food and attentive service from the staff. Would thoroughly recommend to a friend or family member. The restaurant has a buzzing atmosphere which complements the fantastic interior of the establishment and the great food.
Another lovely visit to the ivy. Very professional, stunning surroundings and gorgeous food.
Went there with my sister after a mornings shopping. The surroundings were lovely and we were seated upstairs on a table around the side, rather than in the middle of the room.
We went for brunch on a Saturday and were pleased with the extensive menu. I will definitely be returning with my husband to try the Al La Carte to see if as good as the London restaurant.
Really lovely ambience & very professional attentive staff - plus expression martini at the end a must!
Fabulous place very classy indeed!
Fantastic food, excellent service. Atmosphere was vibrant. Might be advisable to ask price of specials as they are much dearer than the food items on the menu but still delicious. Will go again and would recommend but need to book.
A wonderful breakfast with my daughter whilst visiting her at University in Norwich. The Ivy was a lovely treat, wonderful atmosphere, great food and attentive service. Will certainly visit again.
Had breakfast. Toast was cold. Drinks took too long to arrive.
Table near the door with people squeezing past. The table was small for four people. Food and service was good but downstairs was very noisy hardly hear the waitress and difficult to have a conversation. The value was high end with service charge. Coats collected and returned good idea. If I go again would like to be seating upstairs or further in restaurant. Food was hot but vegetables were only warm. Would recommend but people should be aware of the tables and noise.
