Our experience was disappointing. The chicken entree was tough and overcooked and the beef filet was served slightly raw as opposed medium rare. In addition, the waiter was initially very attentive and then seem to disappear once the restaurant got busier. We had to flag him down to refill our wine and then, again, to take our dessert order. In addition to the problem with the food, we were seated near a table with 5 young women, probably a "hen party", whom were talking and screaming a bit while we tried to eat our meal. Bad manners and behavior. Someone should have asked them to calm down. We will not return to this restaurant.

We had a very very nice waiter who was really on top of things. Everyone enjoyed their food from salads to mains. We passed on dessert. Our Albariño wine was very good as well. It was a bit noisy and quite crowded in the restaurant, but other than that, everything was great. It’s one of my favourite places in Edinburgh.

Vibrant and busy restaurant. Staff friendly and efficient serving delicious food. Light and welcoming appearance shown by the restaurant. There are also tables outside to enable an alternative atmosphere of the city.

Lovely setting. Great food. Service got a bit confused between staff - someone said they’d bring the champagne lunch menu but didn’t. Someone else asked about drinks but we didn’t know because we hadn’t seen the champagne lunch menu. We chased up the menu and decided against it but it took about 15 minutes to order drinks. Then the starters arrived but not the bread and still no drinks. It eventually sorted itself out and although the staff were nice it wasn’t the service I’d expected. It was poor. Additionally it was an unexpectedly warm day for Edinburgh and the upstairs level of the restaurant was extremely warm and unpleasant. Although I don’t expect anything could be done about that.

Worst afternoon experience I’ve ever had.. Food was average at best, cakes and scones were so dry and there certainly wasn’t enough jam to cover 4 scones. Waited 30 minutes for our champagne to arrive, had to ask for it. Wasn’t worth £86 that for sure and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Paying for the name more than anything.

Lovely venue and we were there for my wife’s birthday. Whilst the meal took too long to prepare the staff coped well and we enjoyed the night overall.

Friendly and helpful when making changes to my online booking. It’s one of my favourites in Edinburgh. I try to go here once a month and it’s very consistent. Although I should change up my mains more often, I just can’t help but have the shepherds pie.

Everything was perfect except the service charge which I strongly disagree to as I am a believer in tipping not being forced to tip

Very poor service although restaurant wasn’t busy! We had to ask for drinks 3 times before they arrived! Food wasn’t hot either. Very disappointing.
