   The food was not good-sandwiches dry and scones cold. Service started out great and then fell off as time went on.

   4th consecutive visit to this chain where service has been pretty poor. The food was great, we had duck curry and Sheppards pie. The ambience in Oxford was great but the service just doesn’t match the price point. We were shown to our table and then just forgotten about, same as my last review in December for London City Garden. After 10 mins I had to grab somebody’s attention and ask if we could order drinks. They came about 10 min later. So, that’s 20 mins before getting a drink. We ordered a bottle of wine and it didn’t arrive. I chased it 10 mins later and then 2 arrive. The wine is poured and then taken away. Then we’re forgotten about so we have empty glasses. I ask for the wine to be brought back to table so I could pour it. What do you have to do go get a drink in this place? It’s either not enough staff or employing people who’ve never eaten in a half decent restaurant before. I’m done with the Ivy now.

   Firstly I would like to mention that I am a big fan of the Ivy and love the restaurants in London. Now on short holidays in Oxford I have just visited the Brasserie. On Tuesday it was just perfect! However today it was a big disappointment!! Firstly, the waitress (who on Tuesday was inviting the guests in) was not smiling at all. Sho took our order with no emotions at all even though we mention the fact that we are coming back. But that is not the issue. When we wanted to order she asked whether we had food allergies. We said now as we do not have allergies - we do not eat several things as all humans! When we ordered frites she asked whether we wanted when with parmesan to which we said yes. To our surprise the frites came with parmesan and truffles (which she did not mentioned and we don’t eat due to regime issues). When we asked the waitress to ask about the fact she said that as we don’t have allergies she indeed didn’t mention it! Finally she exchanged them for free (finally they were taken form the bill) but came 10 minutes after we have eaten the plates and after other waiter offered us desserts!! I have an impression that she was focused only on upsell and totally ruined not only our evening but also Ivy’s renoma!

   Very good service in this well run Ivy. Good atmosphere and great food on the Heritage menu. The Camembert needed to be out of the fridge longer before being served. Otherwise delicious food

   Food was delicious, a wide choice available. Service was friendly and polite but hard to get attention of the servers and twice forgot to bring items we asked for.

   Food was awful. The table next to us had a blue plaster in the soufle. The roast dinner did not seem to have roast potatoes but deep fried. The chicken was dry and the veg bland and not good. Stuffing was like a golf ball. Very expensive for the poor quality product. The kids menu is overpriced and not appropriate child size portions. We left and had dessert elsewhere. Very disappointed. Marlow Ivy was much nicer.

   So my experience was the launch party between 4 and 6 pm for the IV experience and it was a bit disappointing. It led me to believe that the plates would be so tasting plates but that was just one plate between the two of us which was very small about four olives couple of very small cheese portions etc And we ended up going downstairs and booking a table to eat. Maybe that was the idea but I expected a bit more but thank you for the free drinks though.
