The food was lukewarm when it arrived but still delicious, apart from that it was lovely
Fabulous lunch. Great service, attentive staff and amazing food
I chose to book at the Ivy as their rooftop terrace had recently reopened and I’m so glad I did! My partner and I had an amazing meal there and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and it’s so beautiful in there. We will definitely return!
I was very disappointed with our experience . The service we received was not what you come to expect from such an establishment with a reputation for excellence , which we have experienced in London .
3 times we tried to order drinks only to be told that they didn’t have them as they’d ran out as it “was bank holiday”. We were told this excuse on several times . This is unacceptable after all such high end restaurants know when bank holidays are .
When we did eventually order a drink , they all arrived separately , some being forgotten .
A round was taken off the bill by the management but this was a very embarrassing experience for us entertaining friends visiting . Not the reputation you want to create I’m sure . Such a shame as such lovely surroundings .
We had to wait an hour for our main, half an hour for the bill and another 10 minutes to pay, the food was ok but definitely overpriced and the portion quite small. Whilst the place is beautiful I do not think that food and service are on par.
Great place, lovely decor and excellent food. Try the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini, fab
An OK meal compared to other restaurants in the area. Not really a roof restaurant as it feels very built in and lacking in any direct sunlight.
Excellent food, great service at a reasonable price.
It was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
Reservation was made 3 months ago for roof garden - dining
8.30pm arrival shown to our table - noise level too loud for dining guests - we were sat 2 tables away from dj and did ask for a quieter table - was told that noise level the same throughout restaurant !!
Informed by waiter that fillet steak not available sold out along with steak tartare !!
Ordered food - starters fine - mains a disaster, my husband ordered shepherds pie with spinach as a side dish, I ordered sirloin with peppercorn sauce and sides of fries with sugar snap peas / beans.
On arrival of mains my husbands spinach was cold - he cut a quarter of the spinach from side dish and placed on his main plate. My peppercorn sauce was served as a side dish and I should have realised there was a problem with it as it appeared congealed when I poured it over my steak - then I realised it was as cold as could be along with my other side dish of sugar snap peas.
Informed our waiter and manager and was told that they would take meal away and bring back to us hot.
We waited approx 20 mins and our mains were served again to us - my husband noted as soon as his veg of spinach was left at table that it was the one that he had returned - it was once again cold so he refused to eat it - my meal was ok except for the sugar snap peas.
Ordered deserts - and noted that we were still eating at 11.30pm some 3 hours after we sat down at our table !!
Asked for bill and felt somewhat disheartened that no reduction had been made to allow for the main meal being so poor from start to finish for us both, when I asked why this was so the waitress that had taken over looking after our table said she would sort.
There was a reduction in bill, however as I stated to server it should have been offered instead of my request for it.
Would I visit again, not sure, the building is amazing, lots of staff, some running around working hard and equally as many standing behind reception desk playing with their hair, good luck.
Absolutely loved our visit to the Roof Garden. Really great menu, food was delicious and Service great. Can't wait to visit again!
Really enjoyed the food., the staff was lovely., the price menu was reasonable however we didn’t appreciate the extra service charge plus VAT which topped our bill to over a £100 for 2 people going for brunch and a drink
Booked at table for to Friday night at half nine. Shown straight to the table which was next to a fire pit. So first problem was the heat, far too hot even when sat at the other end of the table from the pit.
Ordered drinks straight away.
Whilst deciding what to eat we were drowned by noise. The music was quite loud so other people were shouting to hear one another speak. We where unfortunately located to a group of desrepectful dinners who were the most annoying people you could imagine in a restaurant. Yet their behaviour was allowed to continue.
We ordered our food and twenty minutes later still with no drink we decided enough was enough.
Take note... If you intend to play music that loud then control people who automatically think they are in a club.
Amazing food and a good experience but we did find that it was quite simple food. The service was amazing but we did have to ask the waiters to top up the wine (that they take away from the table to cool) more than once. Overall I'd go again for a special event.
Decor is outstanding, great vibe & ambience and the food was really good. Service was friendly but not attentive, had to chase down a waiter for every drink/clear the plates/the bill etc.
Our experience was a sheer delight. From the service from our waiter to the amazing decor and incredible food. Couldn’t fault anything. We will definitely be back again
Lovely setting they opened the roof while we were their, food was excellent too
Great staff, amazing settings and brilliant food! Staff were superb very attentive and friendly
Great atmosphere but chicken wasn’t as good as the last time as I was there.
expensive and over rated, staff try to act that posh and proper they are clumsy and make it uncomfortable. £10 for a gin and tonic and the main meals dont come with any extras you have to buy sides as well as main. £64 for two drinks and two mains which were pub standard. I'd be disappointed if i got the ivy burger at a pub let alone in this venue.
Toilets are nice, but you have to go down a level to go to the bathroom as each floor doesn't have its own loos.
The view overlooked a construction works and a concrete courtyard. Inside was nicely decorated although abit too warm from all the open fires and glass (garden floor).
Went for a lunch celebration for our anniversary, and the place did not disappointed us ~ food, service, ambience and value were on point. They even gave us a mini tart with 'Happy Anniversary' which was subtle and sweet of them to do so ~ really made the meal feel special.
Fabulous food in gorgeous surroundings. We had the set menu which was great value for money and big portions. I will definitely be returning.
Lovely meal except monk fish was undercooked otherwise excellent .
Not at all what we expected, noisy, poor service, felt like a chain restaurant with poorly trained waiting staff.
It was everything we had expected. Just beautiful. The welcome when we walked in, our table was ready, the attention to detail. The service at the table was excellent even though it was very busy. Food was just divine and the prices are suprisingly good. Overall the best experience we have ever had in Manchester.
Avoid like the plague, ruined our aniversary by cancelling our booking without notice and they then made us sit in the bar area with the promise of finding us a table. A hour passed and the girl behind the counter couldn’t of looked anymore unbothered if she tried when I asked if their was any news on us getting a table. Obviously we didn’t get a table and they just wanted us to buy some drinks and leave. The bar staff charged me more than the drinks menu stated and they also put a £2 service charge on the bill, when I went to the bar to get the drinks!
Their are many better bars & places to eat in Manchester and I would not reccomend this establishment at all.
The girls seemed to be more bothered about their eyelashes and botched lips than they did about customer service.
We were unable to dine in the Rooftop due to it being closed, but were put in the brasserie. Food and service was great. Only problem was the gathering of young wimen in the ladies with drinks. The washroom is exactly that and not the place to be hanging out. I have contacted The Ivy re this and they have said they will contact me. They haven’t yet. Can’t complain re everything else though.
Went to Asia restaurant.
Music too loud. Could not speak to people on same table.
Lots of drunk girls congregated by the bar.
Sat near entrance. Felt like I was on live Instagram or Facebook show.
Waiter's too attentive. Cleared plates when not everyone had finished. This is rude. Felt like we were rushed to get out.
Wonderful again. Fabulous food in a great atmosphere. The ivy royale is delicious as is the spicy mojito.
The Ivy decor is stunning, the staff are very courteous and experienced. We had an issue with one of our meals as the lamb was very stringy, when we pointed it out to the waitress she apologised and the chef came to apologise too and we were not charged for it. All the other food was perfect.
Myself and my husband ate in the Brasserie on a busy Saturday night. On our arrival we could not even get a drink at the bar. There were seating, which was taken, all around the bar with no space to actually order a drink. We were forced to go upstairs to the Asia bar which was similarly lacking space to enjoy a drink. When we were seated in the Brasserie the tables either side of us were far too close. The lady on the next table stood up and as she squeezeed through the tiny gap in between the tables she almost took half the contents of our table with her! I had ordered the fish and chips but the batter on the fish was soggy and the chips were over cooked and totally tasteless. My husband had the chicken bourguinon which was just ok! On receiving the bill I asked for the service charge which is added to the bill, to be removed due to the poor quality of the food. The waiter very kindly removed the cost of the fish and chips. All in all the evening was a let down from start to finish.
Very noisy & felt a little intrusive with closeness of tables (brasserie) food ok and generally good service apart from having to finish up & leave due to table required back, overall ok.
Staff attitude terrible but food amazing
Tables very close together
The larger was warm
The food is average but the service is great and the room is beautiful. Unfortunately it was almost impossible to chat to friends..there were 6 of us..as the music was FAR too loud. This woukd most certainly put me off returning
Food was ok, noise levels were horrific, do not go here for a romantic meal! A service charge of 12.5% for a table of two irritated me. I would perhaps go again for lunch but that's about it. Over-hyped and it's just style over substance. Not for me.
Booked Roof Garden due to the fire changed to The Ivy Asia which was fantastic food, service and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I have booked this again for my Anniversary.
Loved it - recommended
Lovely absolutely. Fabulous staff. Outstanding food
Amazing Food, quick and excellent Service
Just not happy no smoothie available on request .
The restaurant and the fixtures and fittings are stunning. The staff are pleasant and attentive. We had the champagne afternoon tea. Although enjoyable, I felt that it wasn’t good value. Once the price of the champagne was deducted we’d paid approximately £16 each for 3 very small sandwiches, 3 very small cakes and 2 small scones with a cup of tea. However, the truffled chicken sandwich was gorgeous. This is available on the main menu with chips so it’s probably better value to order this with a desert and a glass of champagne and not be left feeling hungry afterwards.
