The Ivy Soho Brasserie
Decorated with artworks inspired by Soho’s music scene, as well as William Blake (Broadwick’s most famous resident), the space is made up of a restaurant, bar, private dining room and terrace with Parisian-style seating. Open seven days a week, the modern British menu will be available from dawn till dusk for local workers, residents, shoppers and visitors to enjoy. Being located in Soho, the brasserie will have a DJ spinning music every Friday and Saturday from 7pm and on weekends during brunch until close.
The Ivy Soho Brasserie’s look and feel has been created by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and notable features include an onyx bar, bronze pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet and a mixture of burnt orange leather and velvet banquettes and bar stools.
Food and drink are top notch however service is mixed. You will wait a long time to be served and then drinks take a long time even when the restaurant is quiet. Food service is ok but starters and mains are very close in time not even 2 mins after taking plates away the main dishes were on the table. For the high service charge they add I expect better service
Setting excellence. Service dismal. Main v delayed, some of the food cold other parts of order missing or incorrect.
Disappointing but enough to deter from a repeat visit
Birthday brunch! Food was a little slow to come out but when it did, it was delicious.
We had great service and even stayed over our 2 hour slot without being pressured to leave. Thank you!
We all had such a great time...
Recommend but Not on Friday and Saturday as it is very loud DJ music, impossible to stand it inside. I had to sit outside
Hi, we enjoyed our meal in the Ivy and the service was great but the glasses our drinks were serviced in were awful. Gin was served in long tall glass and the wine was served in a water glass, not a proper wine glass. We would have thought that a restaurant like The Ivy, with such a good reputation would have higher standards but clearly not. We had to ask to switch glasses, which the waiter did but why couldn't we have been served in the correct glasses in the first instance? Makes no sense!
The food was amazing everybody loved each starter and main that was ordered and the service was first class. A great ambiance and will defo return.
Very reliable and lovely Brassery it was wonderful attentive staff and excellent food.
Excruciatingly loud. Service messed up my birthday - booked a cake, didn’t turn up. Waited an hour for our table. Sore throat from shouting over music
I have been to the tower bridge and city locations which have always been a good experience but unfortunately the Soho branch was a massive disappointment. Firstly halfway through our meal someone at the bar opened a bottle of red wine or Rosé which exploded onto the ceiling and showered our table and another table beside us. We all got soaked including our coats, bags and our white table cloth was spattered with red. We were shocked and trying to mop ourselves up expecting someone to come over to our table and apologise and help take the table cloth off etc. However nobody came over at all it only took my Aunt and another lady from the table beside us going up to the waiter to explain for someone to acknowledge what had happened. Even though the ceiling was actively dripping all over other patrons. We eventually got moved and they reset our table for another group coming in ! What amazed me is no managing staff came over to apologise only the waiter who we ordered from and they didn’t take anything off the bill or offer us anything as a gesture of goodwill even though our clothes had been stained. The food in this branch was very mediocre and the music was so loud we all left hoarse after trying to shout at each other across the table. Would not recommend to anyone if you like the Ivy maybe try another branch but this experience has massively put me off from the whole chain.
Excellent service and greatly food with good music
Our evening at the Ivy was OK, it was our first visit to the soho branch. However unfortunately , true to form with the other Ivies’ visited, across London & Harrogate, if you make the booking as a woman you will immediately be given a table at the back of the restaurant in the dead zone. Why is this? Why On entering is there always a stressful interaction in order to have a table in the main area, away from the toilet, kitchen or back doors?
It's good traditional grub, and large portions to price ratio. Worth a shot.
We came for a dinner in the private room a few weeks ago and loved it so much we wanted to try the restaurant. Although the service was not as attentive this time we still loved the food and the DJ was an excellent touch.
Thanks to Kiri for top class service, nice to see someone who genuinely cares about your experience.
I had such a great time for my birthday, THANK YOOOUUUUU!
Started the weekend right with dinner at The Ivy Soho, it was the perfect spot for a quick meal before heading to ronnie scotts.
Took a late lunch and ended up moving to the bar afterwards to enjoy the atmosphere and DJ. Cocktails were yummy, try the ziggy stardust!
Took the better half out for our anniversary meal, they made a real fuss of us and a big shout out to Marin for making our evening so special!
Having visited our local Ivy in York a lot we thought we'd try the Soho branch. It was a completely different experience but equally enjoyable in different ways. Highly recommended.
Now that they have a dedicated vegetarian menu this has become one of our go to places. The veggie version of their shepherds pie is massive and tastes great.
Perfect setting, great food and lovely atmosphere.
It was a bit noisy for us but then I guess that's Soho. Couldn't fault food and service.
A bit too average both with regards to food and service. Considering the embyoance you would expect a bit more from all aspects.
Really lovely buzzing atmosphere. Great placement of tables, so lots of space if you want to have a bit more privacy. Good food as always, staff excellent.
Have been to 3 of the Ivy Chain restaurants
a couple of time each at Covent Garden, Liverpool St and Soho they are all great and all different interiors but all have great ambience 👍 keep it up.
Lovely meal, fantastic service as always
Fabulous meal and service great
Based on the food we received - I wouldn't recommend this SOHO venue to a friend or bring clients unfortunately. The Tuna was over cooked and the dish was too over powering with sauces. The side salad was just a bunch of leaves. It was quite a let down if i will be honest and we didn't finish our meal. We had to leave then for a meeting so hadn't time to explain our disappointment.
The place does feel a bit special, a bit glam. Good lighting, good level of music.
Service was not to the level you would expect from the Ivy. A bit disorganised, not as friendly as it should be.
The food was good, but nothing amazing.
Value for money is decent as the place does have a nice feel to it.
I have been to this branch many times and the service is always lacking. Not sure why they can't sort it out. There are always thinks you have to ask 2-3 times for. You don't get checked on either.
2nd point, lighting, this goes for most London restaurants these days. Why does it have to be so dark???
Horrible food. I liked Ivy restaurants before, but this time it was so bad that i Wont ever come back. The zuccini starter was soaking in oil, the steak was supposed to be medium rare, it was served as well done. Since we didnt have time to wait for a new steak, i tried to eat it and stopped after few bites as it was very bad. The guy serving us didnt even remove it from our bill and didnt care why I didnt eat that. Very very bad experience. Still feel sick after it. Never never again.
Beautiful venue. Lovely good value pre theatre food. Thoroughly enjoyed.
The Ivy is ideally located in the heart of SoHo, the atmosphere and indoors design is very stylish yet somewhat vintage. Extensive menu with classic staples. Great experience!
Unhelpful rude staff, very slow service. Manager entirely disinterested when we raised it - he couldn’t even be bothered to apologise and just shrugged his shoulders. Overpriced mediocre food. Would not go back
Again another great meal and service
The service here was extremely poor. We was dining for over 3 hours due to constant waiting. We had to wait over half an hour for our table after booking with no seats at the bar. It then took ages for our order to be taken and the food to come. Once we had eaten our main it took 40/45 minutes for the waiter to move our plates away. The food was gorgeous so its a shame. But definitely not what you expect when your paying so much money.
OK food but intolerable noise they call music. Diners were shouting as loud as possible to communicate, waiters were shouting and pointing at the menu. It really
bordered on ridiculous. No managers were brave enough to show their faces to discuss the mess. They need to decide if they are a dance club or a restaurant; for sure they can not do both.
Stay away if you want to have a peaceful dinner
Just didn’t nail it on Saturday night. Brought the main courses as I put the last forkful of my starter in my mouth. Had to wait 20 mins for a second bottle of wine (“oh sorry, we’re really busy and your order is way down the list”). And then a glass of whisky was served in a sticky, unclean tumbler. “Oh, that’s disgusting” said the waitress as I gave her the glass to hold. Very poor service experience let down what is great food and ambience.
Love the atmosphere of this place, great upbeat vibe whilst serving amazing food
