The Ivy Soho Brasserie
Decorated with artworks inspired by Soho’s music scene, as well as William Blake (Broadwick’s most famous resident), the space is made up of a restaurant, bar, private dining room and terrace with Parisian-style seating. Open seven days a week, the modern British menu will be available from dawn till dusk for local workers, residents, shoppers and visitors to enjoy. Being located in Soho, the brasserie will have a DJ spinning music every Friday and Saturday from 7pm and on weekends during brunch until close.
The Ivy Soho Brasserie’s look and feel has been created by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and notable features include an onyx bar, bronze pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet and a mixture of burnt orange leather and velvet banquettes and bar stools.
It's good traditional grub, and large portions to price ratio. Worth a shot.
We came for a dinner in the private room a few weeks ago and loved it so much we wanted to try the restaurant. Although the service was not as attentive this time we still loved the food and the DJ was an excellent touch.
Thanks to Kiri for top class service, nice to see someone who genuinely cares about your experience.
I had such a great time for my birthday, THANK YOOOUUUUU!
Started the weekend right with dinner at The Ivy Soho, it was the perfect spot for a quick meal before heading to ronnie scotts.
Took a late lunch and ended up moving to the bar afterwards to enjoy the atmosphere and DJ. Cocktails were yummy, try the ziggy stardust!
Took the better half out for our anniversary meal, they made a real fuss of us and a big shout out to Marin for making our evening so special!
Having visited our local Ivy in York a lot we thought we'd try the Soho branch. It was a completely different experience but equally enjoyable in different ways. Highly recommended.
Now that they have a dedicated vegetarian menu this has become one of our go to places. The veggie version of their shepherds pie is massive and tastes great.
It was a bit noisy for us but then I guess that's Soho. Couldn't fault food and service.
Really lovely buzzing atmosphere. Great placement of tables, so lots of space if you want to have a bit more privacy. Good food as always, staff excellent.
Lovely meal, fantastic service as always
Fabulous meal and service great
Based on the food we received - I wouldn't recommend this SOHO venue to a friend or bring clients unfortunately. The Tuna was over cooked and the dish was too over powering with sauces. The side salad was just a bunch of leaves. It was quite a let down if i will be honest and we didn't finish our meal. We had to leave then for a meeting so hadn't time to explain our disappointment.
The place does feel a bit special, a bit glam. Good lighting, good level of music.
Service was not to the level you would expect from the Ivy. A bit disorganised, not as friendly as it should be.
The food was good, but nothing amazing.
Value for money is decent as the place does have a nice feel to it.
I have been to this branch many times and the service is always lacking. Not sure why they can't sort it out. There are always thinks you have to ask 2-3 times for. You don't get checked on either.
2nd point, lighting, this goes for most London restaurants these days. Why does it have to be so dark???
Horrible food. I liked Ivy restaurants before, but this time it was so bad that i Wont ever come back. The zuccini starter was soaking in oil, the steak was supposed to be medium rare, it was served as well done. Since we didnt have time to wait for a new steak, i tried to eat it and stopped after few bites as it was very bad. The guy serving us didnt even remove it from our bill and didnt care why I didnt eat that. Very very bad experience. Still feel sick after it. Never never again.
Beautiful venue. Lovely good value pre theatre food. Thoroughly enjoyed.
The Ivy is ideally located in the heart of SoHo, the atmosphere and indoors design is very stylish yet somewhat vintage. Extensive menu with classic staples. Great experience!
Unhelpful rude staff, very slow service. Manager entirely disinterested when we raised it - he couldn’t even be bothered to apologise and just shrugged his shoulders. Overpriced mediocre food. Would not go back
Again another great meal and service
The service here was extremely poor. We was dining for over 3 hours due to constant waiting. We had to wait over half an hour for our table after booking with no seats at the bar. It then took ages for our order to be taken and the food to come. Once we had eaten our main it took 40/45 minutes for the waiter to move our plates away. The food was gorgeous so its a shame. But definitely not what you expect when your paying so much money.
OK food but intolerable noise they call music. Diners were shouting as loud as possible to communicate, waiters were shouting and pointing at the menu. It really
bordered on ridiculous. No managers were brave enough to show their faces to discuss the mess. They need to decide if they are a dance club or a restaurant; for sure they can not do both.
Stay away if you want to have a peaceful dinner
Just didn’t nail it on Saturday night. Brought the main courses as I put the last forkful of my starter in my mouth. Had to wait 20 mins for a second bottle of wine (“oh sorry, we’re really busy and your order is way down the list”). And then a glass of whisky was served in a sticky, unclean tumbler. “Oh, that’s disgusting” said the waitress as I gave her the glass to hold. Very poor service experience let down what is great food and ambience.
Love the atmosphere of this place, great upbeat vibe whilst serving amazing food
Birthday gathering for friends from Canada
Fab as always! A great place for friends and family. Extremely well run.
The service was very poor. Incorrect drinks order delivered to the table and charged for the incorrect drinks as well the correct ones. We had to leave the table in order to find a member of the team in order to place a food order. When we received the bill we asked for the incorrect drinks and ‘optional’ service charge of £60 to removed the bill was brought back with the drinks removed but the service charge on it. So we asked again for the service to be removed. We were fully intending to leave a tip but one that we felt was appropriate. We finally got the bill minus service. Then we were confronted by a manager at the table who was very aggressive and asked why we weren’t paying the £60 service. He asked if it was because the waitress was pregnant. We didn’t understand the relevance of his comment. He then went on to say it was a disgrace we weren’t paying it and we had made her cry and she was pregnant and needed the money. Completely unprofessional management who ruined what should have been a special 40th birthday celebration.
Lovely venue great food and all the staff where friendly and attentive
Boozy lunch with friends who were visiting from out of town. Great cocktails and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Reasonable value for central London. A little noisy at times but a great afternoon.
Very good dinner with family and friends in a nice upbeat atmosphere
We thought the service was extremely slow. It was very difficult to place an order to even get drinks and once we did, they took a really long time to bring them. It was then difficult to order food, they didn't bring the bottle of wine until half way into food. Same story for the bill.
Great atmosphere and excellent service. The staff were efficient and friendly. Recommend the Deep Red G&T which was really refreshing. The starters were all tasty . The main courses good but the rib eye steaks were a bit disappointing for the most expensively priced dish on the menu £31.95 and a bit cheeky to pay £2.95 for a sauce and have to order chips and any veg or salad as extras. I had the sprouting broccoli and it was undercooked / raw. The creme brulee and the chocolate bombe were excellent. Would go again but wouldn't order the steak ... going to try the Prawn and Monkfish curry next time !
We had a mixed experience. My mother in law was late as her train was delayed due to a death in the line and the staff were very kind allowing us to wait. However the music in the restaurant was so loud we could barely hear each other and even the waiter got our order wrong as he didn’t hear me! As there were 6 of us ranging in age from 15 to 78 it was not the most relaxing lunch we have had due to the noise. We ordered olives which never arrived and had to ask 3 times for water. It felt that it was very understaffed compared to the other 6 Ivy chains that I have been to.
The food was great and the service was very good, there was even a tiny birthday cake which was a nice touch. We found the music too loud as it made conversation difficult (there were five of us). I'd definitely recommend the restaurant to a couple but not to a group.
The food was great
Music volume ruined the event.
Service was exceptable, but bot as good as the quality of the food.
Once again a really special evening. Big thanks to Maggie and the team for making everything so fun!
Managed to grab ourselves a seat at the bar after our meal, and it has to be one of my favourite spots to sit and watch the world go by!
Good food but they seemed to be understaffed. Service was not up to standard.
I booked this restaurant for a dinner with a visiting relative and my partner. I booked the table for 6.45pm but two of us arrived early at 6pm and asked to have a drink at the bar. There was only one stool available at the bar so we asked if we could sit at our table to drink them as the restaurant was virtually empty, our table was ready and I’m 6 months pregnant so wanted to sit down.
We explained that we wouldn’t be ordering food until 6.45pm as we were waiting for the last member of the party to arrive. He arrived on time. At 8.15pm the head waiter (as we were later informed) came up to the table and very rudely told us that he needed the table back. He was quite confrontational. We said that we should have the table until 8.45pm as we booked the table for 6.45pm. He said that as we sat down early our time started then, like we were on a clock watch. He said that we hadn’t personally informed him that we would be waiting until 6.45pm to order our meal. I explained that we had informed several members of staff who were all trying to serve us as they had nothing else to do. After that he kept coming up to the table and trying to take our drinks away even though we were clearly still drinking them and hadn’t even ordered dessert. He made us feel very uncomfortable and like we were being chased out of the restaurant. I won’t be returning to any of the Ivy Soho restaurants after this experience as I’ve had bad experience at the Canary Wharf branch of this chain too. The staff are over attentive one minute to point of being intrusive, then they forget to bring drinks over for 20 minutes and then they harass you for the table back. Overall not a nice experience which is a shame as it has a lot of other things going for it. The noise levels in here are really high too.
