The Ivy Soho Brasserie
Decorated with artworks inspired by Soho’s music scene, as well as William Blake (Broadwick’s most famous resident), the space is made up of a restaurant, bar, private dining room and terrace with Parisian-style seating. Open seven days a week, the modern British menu will be available from dawn till dusk for local workers, residents, shoppers and visitors to enjoy. Being located in Soho, the brasserie will have a DJ spinning music every Friday and Saturday from 7pm and on weekends during brunch until close.
The Ivy Soho Brasserie’s look and feel has been created by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and notable features include an onyx bar, bronze pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet and a mixture of burnt orange leather and velvet banquettes and bar stools.
Again another great meal and service
OK food but intolerable noise they call music. Diners were shouting as loud as possible to communicate, waiters were shouting and pointing at the menu. It really
bordered on ridiculous. No managers were brave enough to show their faces to discuss the mess. They need to decide if they are a dance club or a restaurant; for sure they can not do both.
Stay away if you want to have a peaceful dinner
Just didn’t nail it on Saturday night. Brought the main courses as I put the last forkful of my starter in my mouth. Had to wait 20 mins for a second bottle of wine (“oh sorry, we’re really busy and your order is way down the list”). And then a glass of whisky was served in a sticky, unclean tumbler. “Oh, that’s disgusting” said the waitress as I gave her the glass to hold. Very poor service experience let down what is great food and ambience.
Love the atmosphere of this place, great upbeat vibe whilst serving amazing food
Fab as always! A great place for friends and family. Extremely well run.
The service was very poor. Incorrect drinks order delivered to the table and charged for the incorrect drinks as well the correct ones. We had to leave the table in order to find a member of the team in order to place a food order. When we received the bill we asked for the incorrect drinks and ‘optional’ service charge of £60 to removed the bill was brought back with the drinks removed but the service charge on it. So we asked again for the service to be removed. We were fully intending to leave a tip but one that we felt was appropriate. We finally got the bill minus service. Then we were confronted by a manager at the table who was very aggressive and asked why we weren’t paying the £60 service. He asked if it was because the waitress was pregnant. We didn’t understand the relevance of his comment. He then went on to say it was a disgrace we weren’t paying it and we had made her cry and she was pregnant and needed the money. Completely unprofessional management who ruined what should have been a special 40th birthday celebration.
Lovely venue great food and all the staff where friendly and attentive
Boozy lunch with friends who were visiting from out of town. Great cocktails and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Reasonable value for central London. A little noisy at times but a great afternoon.
Very good dinner with family and friends in a nice upbeat atmosphere
We thought the service was extremely slow. It was very difficult to place an order to even get drinks and once we did, they took a really long time to bring them. It was then difficult to order food, they didn't bring the bottle of wine until half way into food. Same story for the bill.
We had a mixed experience. My mother in law was late as her train was delayed due to a death in the line and the staff were very kind allowing us to wait. However the music in the restaurant was so loud we could barely hear each other and even the waiter got our order wrong as he didn’t hear me! As there were 6 of us ranging in age from 15 to 78 it was not the most relaxing lunch we have had due to the noise. We ordered olives which never arrived and had to ask 3 times for water. It felt that it was very understaffed compared to the other 6 Ivy chains that I have been to.
The food was great and the service was very good, there was even a tiny birthday cake which was a nice touch. We found the music too loud as it made conversation difficult (there were five of us). I'd definitely recommend the restaurant to a couple but not to a group.
The food was great
Music volume ruined the event.
Service was exceptable, but bot as good as the quality of the food.
Managed to grab ourselves a seat at the bar after our meal, and it has to be one of my favourite spots to sit and watch the world go by!
Good food but they seemed to be understaffed. Service was not up to standard.
I booked this restaurant for a dinner with a visiting relative and my partner. I booked the table for 6.45pm but two of us arrived early at 6pm and asked to have a drink at the bar. There was only one stool available at the bar so we asked if we could sit at our table to drink them as the restaurant was virtually empty, our table was ready and I’m 6 months pregnant so wanted to sit down.
We explained that we wouldn’t be ordering food until 6.45pm as we were waiting for the last member of the party to arrive. He arrived on time. At 8.15pm the head waiter (as we were later informed) came up to the table and very rudely told us that he needed the table back. He was quite confrontational. We said that we should have the table until 8.45pm as we booked the table for 6.45pm. He said that as we sat down early our time started then, like we were on a clock watch. He said that we hadn’t personally informed him that we would be waiting until 6.45pm to order our meal. I explained that we had informed several members of staff who were all trying to serve us as they had nothing else to do. After that he kept coming up to the table and trying to take our drinks away even though we were clearly still drinking them and hadn’t even ordered dessert. He made us feel very uncomfortable and like we were being chased out of the restaurant. I won’t be returning to any of the Ivy Soho restaurants after this experience as I’ve had bad experience at the Canary Wharf branch of this chain too. The staff are over attentive one minute to point of being intrusive, then they forget to bring drinks over for 20 minutes and then they harass you for the table back. Overall not a nice experience which is a shame as it has a lot of other things going for it. The noise levels in here are really high too.
Visited in between theatre shows and had a voucher to use as part payment. Staff picked up when I handed them the voucher that it was a birthday treat and came back with a desert with Happy Birthday on which was a really kind gesture. Thank you
First time of dining here and enjoyed it so much we've booked for next week!
Having read that background music could be loud - it wasn't - it was fine - though clearly present.
Food was of good quality and there was plenty of choice of wine (including a very acceptable house white).
This is a lively setting, the décor is well above average and the ambience quite excellent. Dinner with a business acquaintance was so good - that mid- evening I was already arranging to return with my partner at the first available opportunity.
For the setting, ambience, food and music - this isn't cheap - but it is more than fair value.
It was lovely, and I will definitely go back again.
I love this place so much, The most amazing place to dine. Excellent waiting staff, delicious food and fabulous atmosphere.
The service was very poor. Waited ages for our first drinks then about 35 minutes for a coke. My husbands food was cold so they cooked another meaning we ate without him. They were very apologetic and good about it and took the price of the meal off the bill which was good on their part. Have been before and it was very good but we were disappointed this time. Not sure I would visit again.
Lovely birthday meal
Having been on numerous occasions this visit was sadly dreadful. Staff barely paid us any service waiting far too long for food. Redeemed for a short period of time by one of the duty managers - he also kindly offered us a bottle of wine to apologise, but once he left, normally dreadful service was resumed.
We had dinner here for the last night of our London vacation. I would definitely recommend it to others. Fun funky Art Deco vibe - plenty of options on the menu. Food was delicious; very quirky cocktail menu with interesting new combinations. Will be back on our next trip.
the waiters were not caring for customers, we had to call them many times for basic requests
Gorgeous setting, good food and service.
WAY TOO LOUD! The DJ was totally unnecessary!
If you want to go to a club, go to a club. If you want to eat dinner, go to a restaurant.
It's very simple really.
Great place! Would definitely go back.
Absolutely delicious food and excellent service everything we tried was full of flavour.
We had the most amazing time for my birthday we cant thank you enough.
Enjoyable early evening restaurant is really buzzy with. A great vibe , unfortunately the service was very poor compared to the other Brasseries we have visited
Food was good but the service was awful. Had to keep asking for drinks and chasing food.
Very slow service- some staff a bit aloof, had to order multiple things more than once before they were brought to us. Some drinks were never brought to us! Truffle arincini balls over done, dry & over salted.
A real dip in service and standard since Ivy cafes began opening. Real shame.
A great atomisphere , but unfortunately our first visit for brunch was disappointing as both our Eggs Royales were lukewarm, and so were the Americanos.
The starters (prawn cocktail) were made with frozen prawns that did not have any taste and were soaked with water .
Service was very poor, the waiter only seemed to be interested when we asked for the bill.
Very loud music
Service was slow.
25 min wait for first round of drinks and had to ask for order to be taken in first instance.
Food was excellent.
Great venue for a first class experience and celebration. Cocktails and food to drool over and phenomenal service too!
We had a fantastic lunch for my father’s birthday. Great atmosphere and beautiful decor. All our food was perfect and the prices were very reasonable. Couldn’t ask for more for a special occasion. We will definitely be back.
The food is fantastic and staff are friendly and polite. But the music is way too loud. Everyone is shouting over the music in the restaurant and you feel like your about to kiss the waiter or waitress when trying to place your order because they can’t hear you
