Very disappointed. We ordered some bread to start plus mains. The food arrived altogether within five minutes of ordering. Never felt so rushed. Table was at 1pm. We were done by 1.40. The waiter was apologetic but should’ve sent the food back.
Restaurant looks amazing and decorated very nicely, unfortunately that masks a host of issues, Sat in a corner table (number 61) and was like we couldn’t be seen, countless staff walking past us with little acknowledgement, while we were waiting for someone to take a drink order I witnessed 2 tables be seated and get drinks, we were not even offered water when we were seated to quench our thirst, approx 25mins after being seated there was no water or a cocktail in sight, and when we finally got to order drinks it seemed like we had multiple staff attending to our table, this meant we were asked before our drinks even came by another member of staff if we would like drinks, but we did get some water. Then it comes to ordering food, the menu takes you in with the daily farmers special and fish of the day, but don’t ask what they are as you seem like a inconvenience for doing so…..and the daily farmers special, well there isn’t one……but we did get asked if we wanted more water. Food wise the starters were nice, and by the time we had finished them waiting for mains our first drinks had been empty for some while but no one had come and asked if we needed more or just checked everything was ok, when the starters were cleared away before the mains came out we ordered a bottle of wine, would be lovely to have a nice glass of wine with dinner we thought…….maybe not, we had to ask 3 times for the bottle of wine and when we did get the wine we had pretty much finished the mains, which one of (the steak) had to be sent back for not being cooked to the request of medium rare, I guess a bottle of wine with dessert isn’t too bad, we had no apology for the steak being wrong just a confused glance. We thought we will finish the wine with dessert and give it another chance by having a drink at the beautiful looking bar at 10:30pm…Nope, we were told they were making no more drinks despite google stating closing is 12am. Very Disappointed
Our soup,was served luke warm.
We had waited a long time and were hungry, so could not face requesting it to be warmed
When we told the waitress, having eaten soup, she offered to bring us another bowl!
She was clearly unconcerned.
I had a booking for two for afternoon tea. We have arrived slightly earlier and were allowed to seat earlier. The service was up to our expectations. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and quick service, delicious food and drinks. Always a favourite thank you.
Great meal, service was excellent!
Have been to a few now and always enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are excellent and so is the food!!
Food was fantastic service a little slow
Fabulous restaurant in the heart of Soho. Love the decor, William Morris meets Andy Warhol. Polite, thoughtful service and great food. The twice baked cheese soufflé is to die for.
Post party weekend in London. Just what the doctor ordered.
Food was great! Unfortunately it wasn’t the service I expected or have experienced previously in other “Ivy” establishments.
Seating felt like we were speed dating as so close and squashed in.
We had shopping bags also and no offer was made to place them anyway. Had them stuffed under our table.
Water we asked for never came.
Male staff helpful. Female who showed to our a table came across unfriendly and “stuck up”
Excellent meal and fantastic service. Thoroughly recommeded and very good value for money
Service is exceptional brilliant. Staff very friendly had a very enjoyable night!
Everything was lovely except the food which was a real disappointment.
My own version of cheese soufflé is lighter and it could have done with a small portion of bread. The halloumi dish was lukewarm and a bit boring the red wine sauce doesn’t go with it at all
The prawn cocktail and the minute steak were ok but run of the mill.
Such a shame
We liked the lay out and colours used. The server we had was really lovely and friendly, but passing staff, and those we passed in/out didn't acknowledge us, unlike other places we have eaten at. Tables were laid nicely. Food service was swift. Food was tasty, the right temperature and decent portions. Overall we would visit again. Thank you.
The food and drinks really were excellent. Waiting staff were very professional. The only downside is the level of noise from diners when all the tables are full and packed. Lovely decor in the place.
Really nice decor and seating plus a lively atmosphere. We went for Sunday brunch and the menu gave plenty of options. The service was a little slow and our waitress was very pleasant but seemed inexperienced. The food was delicious and good value.
Excellent. We'll definitely be back again soon
Perfect for a special occasion, provides gorgeous special birthday dessert. Excellent aesthetic and atmosphere.
We were not greeted despite being in the reception foyer with 5 members of staff, not one made eye contact with me to ask if I had a booking or to say “hi”… It was really awkward and felt invisible and uncomfortable until I eventually said erm hi? None were busy as they all seemed to be stood behind the reception desk and just looking through me, like I didn’t exist. My two guests said they felt the same. Food was great and allergies dealt with well.
Lovely meal at the Ivy Soho last night.
We had a 5PM booking as we were going to see "Come From Away" nearby.
It was a nice party of four, me, my two close friends & my Mum.
Our Waitress was excellent, she was attentive & knew exactly when to top up our Prosecco plus later on our Rosè.
The Food was excellent, my Cheese Soufflé was to die for, that same sentiment goes for my Smoked Haddock Fishcake with Poached Egg too.
Oh, one of my friends had the truffle mayonnaise...
can you guys at the Ivy just send me a vat of it ASAP if that's ok?
Thanks for a lovely meal, we shall be back!
Love this place but music was a bit loud for Saturday afternoon.
Overall great, lovely greeting g from the host, wished me happy birthday and said had a lovely table for us (2). Ordered a drink and olives and our main course. All 3 arrived together. That wouldn’t have happened West St (my fave). The background music was very loud and it was noisy (but tolerable considering how long everyone’s been locked up) I had a little cake with a candle sent to the table and a chocolate with happy birthday on it. On the table of 4 next to ours I heard a lady cancel her dinner because the rest of the party had been served and eaten theirs. The waiter said there’d been a mix up in the kitchen
Ambience, food and staff were great. The DJ played great music, but for friends catching up (which is what we were there), the overall noise levels were just a little to high, making it quite hard work to have a conversation
Fantastic food, great service. Staff very helpful and friendly
Good was great and good value, service was pretty poor
Lovely food again and the decor and music were really cool, will come again and look forward to it already
Been many times x so disappointed, wine came half way through meal. Put wrong sauce with each dish didn’t feel special think it’s going down hill x
Excellent food, excellent ambience, excellent service. Thanks for a great evening
Booked for dinner , starters were amazing , however the mains did not turn up in the 1.5 hours that we had booked for . Not happy with service as they did not own up to the fact they never placed the order clearly :( upsetting
First time at the Ivy. Unexpected and exceptional pleasure. Thank you!! Will be back and also recommend to others! Value for money in every aspect..
Very kind staff and professional, nice birthday touch.
Food was really bad and dry we asked for pink salmon and steak all come well done and cold. We complain and manager never came very poor service
Good for ambience . Food was lukewarm even the chips . Overall found very disappointing
Enjoyable meal. Quick and efficient service. Just a bit noisy with the music
The soup was luke warm, my chicken curry was mainly sauce and my daughters burger bun was burnt - really not very good for a renowned restaurant. The staff seemed to not really know what was going on - not like the usual professional and slick service we are used to. However, the worse aspect, I felt was that the restaurant was cramming people in - like they did pre-covid. When you can hear the conversation next to you - without trying, people are too close. I dont think we will go back again - a shame was it has been one of our favourite restaurants in London.
This really is one of the best places for a fun evening out. Beautiful decor and atmosphere, the food was excellent.
D.J playing great music and friendly staff.
The starters were greasy, scrambled and salty. The mains were cold. We informed the waitress but she either could not hear us or understand us.
Victim of its own success. They couldn’t find our booking, service was really slow, we had to ask for drinks and food order to be taken, no bread offered etc
