The Ivy Soho Brasserie
Decorated with artworks inspired by Soho’s music scene, as well as William Blake (Broadwick’s most famous resident), the space is made up of a restaurant, bar, private dining room and terrace with Parisian-style seating. Open seven days a week, the modern British menu will be available from dawn till dusk for local workers, residents, shoppers and visitors to enjoy. Being located in Soho, the brasserie will have a DJ spinning music every Friday and Saturday from 7pm and on weekends during brunch until close.
The Ivy Soho Brasserie’s look and feel has been created by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and notable features include an onyx bar, bronze pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet and a mixture of burnt orange leather and velvet banquettes and bar stools.
Very friendly from start to finish, very nice food as always and lovely ambience, thank you. Perhaps a few more vegetarian options in the Main Courses please? My guest was a bit stymied by the Vegetarian Shepherds Pie having run out.
The food really isn’t great
Always enjoy visiting this Ivy, I prefer it to the others in London.
Had a brilliant brunch - gorgeous food and lovely setting.
We had a lovely table and a friendly welcome. We waited at the bar for a table but were ignored by bartenders for 5 mins .. not even acknowledgement of our presence. We went to the table and waited ages to order and ages for main course though starters were quick. Pasta overcooked. Truffles delicious. Music too loud but that may just be our taste. All in all not great.
The steak wasn’t that great - especially for the price. DJ playing made it hard to speak to one another, and our waiter forgot about us after a while - we had to wave him down to order dessert.
We have dined at the Ivy previously and also at Cambridge - the service and ambience very good and I would always recommend , however, a favourite dish of ours (Tempura Prawns and Squid) was not up to the normal high standards and the wine was not chilled sufficiently when served and at £56 per bottle I would expect it to be - otherwise excellent
Food was lovely service great amazing buzz in restaurant will be back
Charming, relaxed environment,Excellent service and very good food as usual.
We didn’t have the usual ivy experience upon being seated, and had to wait over 15mins for any service at all. Once we were attended to our waiter was good, and we were offered our glasses of champagne as an apology which was very kind. The food was really tasty and beautifully presented, so aside from the hiccup at the start, we had a lovely Lunch - fortunately we had no time constraints. It was very warm where we were seated at the back of the restaurant though. (But a hot day, perhaps a struggle for the air con?)
Simply put. Food was great and ambience excellent. Staff very friendly and their was excellent. Deffo deserved the 5 star rating from me and ladies. Thank you.
Service was not rushed and towards the end of the lunch we had to rush. Food was lovely.
Have been here before and it’s been good, but this time it was shockingly bad. Our waiter gave my wife incorrect gluten free advice, we subsequently found out he was in training. We had cold (should have been hot) food served twice. In the end they had to take it off the bill, and we ended up with a free round of drinks. Having booked for 8:30, our main course was in the end served at 22:40!, with the wrong side orders!!! The manager had to get involved it was that bad, but it didn’t spoil our evening with friends as we ended up having a great laugh. But, despite the managers assurance he would personally deal with a future booking, and giving us his business card, we will NEVER go back. Sorry guys, there are just too many restaurants in London to bother risking it with you again. Can’t recommend this place to anyone. Go somewhere else, and have a nice evening.
It's a lovely restaurant, the toilets smell amazing! Slightly disappointed with food this time, I've been to a number of Ivy Brasserie's and this was the worst the food has been (small portion of my duck salad and v tough duck) but still tasty! Good choice of wines. Would prefer more dessert options.
We go to a lot of Afternoon Teas; yours was surprisingly average. The sandwiches were dry if it cost more I would have marked it much lower. The staff are absolutely lovely yours being the first we've tried.
Fantastic lunch.booked for 2 pm.super table toward back of restaurant.suited us perfectly.food was presented well and tasted great. Sourdough salted bread, tempura prawn/ calamari, duck liver parfait. Mains : fishcake and monkfish curry with side of chips.we couldnt eat dessert as too full.had a coffee.couple of wines, a champagne and aperol.thoroughly enjoyed. First time here but eaten at Brighton, Marlow and the Ivy, West St.Thoroughly recommended
Always a great option. Great menu and cocktail list with something for everyone in your party.
We went here as a birthday treat for my dad. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive - no mistakes with our order and they remembered who ordered what. The only shame is that they brought desserts when we popped to the loo. As I had ordered the chocolate bombe, I would have thought they would wait to pour the hot sauce when I returned. Overall, a lovely treat with top rate food!
Been there several time. A value for money option with good quality food.
Lovely atmosphere , food and service great
Lovely room and nice food but the female waitress seemed to resent us being there it was better towards the end when one of the other waiters served us.
Very very rude staff and very slow service even though it was not busy.
Terrible service for the first time ever at Ivy Soho Brasserie. Drinks arrived after food after the wrong drinks were brought to our table three times. Only three tables outside so it’s not like it was a busy session. The table next to us had such bad service that they had to call the manager and eventually got their meals on the house.
Had to ask multiple times for butter then for salt then for mayonnaise. Had to ask for top ups of our champagne every time. Then the waitress told us service charge was not included in the bill. Just before handing a cash tip over (despite the terrible service) we noticed “service charge” clearly stated and already included in the bill! Really?Unacceptable. No more referrals from me.
Great vibe and location, the traffic from the private event at the back of the resturant was a little annoying, making it more bar/club like that an eaterie. Food was good quality but very slow, the waiter that served us was clearly busy and wanted to be elsewhere, no small talk, no communication just did the job.
We were in the restaurant for 1 hour and 40 minutes, most of that time was waiting for our main course. Apparently there was a kitchen problem. I did complain and get the starters comp’d, but if I’m honest I think the whole thing should have been gratis. The burgers when they finally arrived (almost an hour after the starter) were dry and pretty rank. We certainly won’t be going back.
Great food and service. It would have been even better if some of the menu options were available as half-portions for children.
Good food, great atmosphere, good service. Didn’t disappoint.
Great atmosphere and good service. Food was good but nothing special. Cocktails were lovely. Overall a good experience.
really lovely afternoon, service was excellent, food was excellent highly recommend.
Had brunch as starter for day for daughter’s birthday day out. Fish cakes were good but ‘poke’ of chips extremely disappointing, cold and soggy. Daughter hates a fuss so we just left them. Normally I would have asked for a replacement, however next table told us they had 3 replacements before getting one that was edible. At £4.50 for a ‘poke’ that others were sending back before we received ours, this restaurant should have sorted out the issue immediately. Lovely place and quick service but won’t be going back.
Despite having a reservation, we waited for a table for 35 minutes. I can recognise the fact that the manager offered us a glass of prosecco each to compensate, but it was an occasion. The whole point of going to the ivy was because they had earlier times available, and the whole point of the reservation was to get that earlier spot and not wait fir a table. This has never happened to me in any ivy branch, which was unacceptable. We had a lovely Spanish girl (I forgot her name) waiting on our table, and she genuinely saved the night, she was incredibly nice and professional. The food was good, I always have a good experience with Ivy food.
The food wasn’t tasty, the sole fish swim in butter and was disgusting
Lovely staff, talented bar tenders, great food. My go-to is always the tuna carpaccio followed by the blackened cod. And it was lovely.
Service is always friendly and efficient at the Ivy brasseries and they’re great at welcoming guests. Our food took some time to come, so when the manager came to ask us how the meal had been, and would we please vacate the table as they only allocate 2 hours per booking we felt a bit rushed. I still had half a pot of tea, and my friends didn’t have a chance to have a coffee. But it was Friday, and they were very busy. Food was delicious- I loved the veggie shepherd’s pie, and my friend enjoyed the veggie curry. My partner noticed that the fish content of the prawn and monkfish curry has become much meaner of late! But overall the food was very good indeed, and well presented. My chief moan about this restaurant - and I don’t like to moan when the team obviously works so hard - is that the noise level generated by the piped music and then a DJ is stressfully high, and makes conversation difficult. Maybe keep it down until 9.00pm??
Our table booking was at 5:45pm, and we didn’t receive our food until 7.15pm - this was after expressing to staff multiple times that we were concerned about how long it was taking as we needed to get to the theatre for a show beginning 7.30pm. Service was consistently slow - we were ignored for long periods of time: it took about 30minutes to flag a waiter to take even just take our drinks order. We paid the bill before we even got the food as we were worried we wouldn’t have time to eat - and we didn’t. We managed a few mouthfuls (couldn’t even tell you what it tasted like) before we had to run. Overall service was appalling, we have never been to a restaurant and just ignored to quite the same extent. A booking at 5.45pm should have left more than enough time for a show starting at 7.30pm, but as it was we barely got to eat our food and nearly missed the show. If we had had the time to have the conversation, we wouldn’t have even paid for the food we didn’t get to eat. But as it was, time was too short and stress was too high to try to communicate that to consistently absent staff. Extremely disappointing experience, would never recommend. Certainly ruined what was supposed to be a lovely birthday celebration of dinner and a show.
Our first time here, but not the last. For a visitor, finding the right mix of fun, price and food can be tough in a city this huge. But the Ivy Soho will be a repeat in our book. The room is great and the service is wonderful. But the food was the clincher -- everything we had was fantastic. We'll be back next time!
We had a lovely lazy late lunch before the theatre. The staff were very friendly and the food was most excellent. I liked the feeling of the place and at no point felt we were being rushed along. Perfect meal to start a perfect evening.
Food was ok, service was terrible.. so slow and a waiter with no personality!! Ugh.
Brilliant. Fantastic steaks and two amazing bottles of Brunello Di Montalcino
