It was our first time visiting the ivy York, though we have experienced others in the uk. Food was expected apart from the fillet steak which was very disappointing coming out twice well done instead of medium rare, a surprise and confirmation of a problem back of house. However we were compensated with it being taken off our bill naturally along with a couple of sides for our trouble. George who looked after us was truly exceptional and head and shoulders above the other competent staff in there.

Service was good but the meal was not good frozen fish and chips had better for half the price £135 with a cheap bottle of Rose won’t be returning shocking value for money .

We had the chicken dish on the main in the lunch time special (£19 ) we Did not like the knocki is was chewy and the artichoke was not nice , it had a funny taste hard and unpleasant, the piece of chicken was tough and a overcooked It was busy and felt embarrassed to say about the unpleasant dish Kind regards Margaret freer 07909 443245
