Disappointed - chicken overcooked and dry and an ambivalent response to my comments. Served by a number of waiting staff some better than others. Not going to hurry back.
Waitress forgot to tell us which dishes Were not available, wine was kept chilled away from the table and we kept having to ask for top ups. Little things I know but for a high end restaurant I would expect better. Other than that it wassuperb.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was amazing although slightly higher than average prices but worth the extra. Only down side was the service charge added to our bill which was £16 between four of us.
My third visit to the ivy previously excellent, this time my daughter's 22nd birthday,we had a 2.30 booking and it was busy which gave it a great atmosphere!
Service started well we ordered food and a bottle of wine sadly our wine came after the food and apologies were made the wine was placed away from us once again we had to wait for it to be poured!Maybe our table wasn't the best placed. We did not stay for coffee and definitely didn't pay the 12% service charge!
Sadly this was our 1st visit, I wasn't impressed. We arrived 5 mins late for our booking at 7pm due to the weather. However we were left stood in foyer for 8 mins, then transferred to the bar, we literally ordered a drink, didn't get chance to have a sip as we got ushered to our table. Our table seemed to be situated in the main run through of restaurant. So it wasn't a relaxed dining experience, and actually felt quite rushed. I appreciate there needs to be a constructed fluid service, but there was no personal interaction. We had 4 different servers, and the desert which we ordered where delivered with a 4 minutes gap. So we didn't know what was happening, no explanation. We have dined in many restaurants and overall this wasn't a good experience.
Not organic at all
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The ambience was great and the service was excellent. We will definitely come back soon!
Perfect well run
Slight smell of drains towards back of restaurant possibly from air con. Not noticed on previous visits.Asked to be moved. Staff very helpful.
No coffee machine working when we arrived . Staff let us know this immediately but forget to let us know when this was resolved sadly.
Difficult to get staff attention to pay the bill!
The food was lovely but not very warm and the plates were cold The service was slow and the waiter spent more time pouring wine for the next table than taking our order.
We had a great evening, fabulous service, delicious food and great atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Second visit to the Ivy which didn’t disappoint overall. Service excellent. Staff attentive and friendly. Food of good quality. Prawn cocktail a great choice and swordfish was beautifully cooked. Our friend had to send his burger back as over cooked and dry but was replaced with a more suitably cooked meal. Would not put me off visiting again.
Really lovely ambience, beautiful decor (It looks like it's been there for years and not 3 months), good food and superb service. Benjamin was probably the best waiter I've ever seen. A really special and lovely evening
We enjoyed the most gorgeous food, were served by the most wonderful staff and will most certainly return.
Good flavours, small portions, feels a little too much like a manufactured experience for me, not very authentic but pretty decorations. Worth a try, not sure I'd go twice.
Very good food. Red wine is served slightly too warm. Not stored at drinking temperature, stored at restaurant temperature. It should be slightly cooler. Service generally very good. Sometimes hard to get hold of a waiter if you want something extra. Overall very good experience with very nice ambiance.
Had 3 course set menu and it was delightful and delicious. Only downside, green pesto does not go with pork belly!
Had a lovely experience at the ivy being wanting to try for a while
Very warm & professional welcome shown to our table
Quick service super friendly waiter/management great sense off humour
We oppted for the set menu 2 course with additional coffee to end
The food was fantastic sooo tasty very well presented mouth watering flavours the set menus change every 2 weeks
So we will be going straight back & can definitely recommend go try it for brakefast , brunch , lunch evening there’s something for everyone I will be a regular at the ivy for sure 😀
Great service , but the food was average starters were better than the main
Lovely lunch with friends. Service excellent t and food gorgeous.
Initially greeted with a warm welcome. Nice setting, decor is good and they have done well given the slightly odd layout of the floor. It was entertaining trying to recall the old layout of the bank that once occupied that space.
Initially dissappointed that all the sweet wine was sold out but went with the gin which was lovely.
The food arrived in 25 minutes which is acceptable. Unfortunately the standard of food was comparible to pub grub (which i enjoy, but expect that in a pub not in "The Ivy". Desserts were ok and made up somewhat for the main. Wouldn't recommend to any friends or family and i think this is a restaurant most people will try, to say they have been, but i wouldnt expect there will be much return custom.
Sadly not on my list anyway.
The food was very good and we were served by an excellent member of staff-a lovely French waiter who gave us excellent food recommendations to order.
The food was excellent although my friend was disappointed with her fish cake - our salmon was perfect. More vegetables would have been prefereable. The pepper grinder was empty and I asked twice before a new one came and the coffe was very cold by the time it came to the table. I still would certainly return to the Ivy .
I took my mum and daughter for a treat and we all enjoyed the whole experience
Bit disappointed to be honest. Waiting staff friendly, though some of the more managerial staff seemed a little hostile. Lunch set menu a little basic. Had to wait a long time for our dessert order to be taken (patrons had thinned out, and so had the staff) and finally we had been charged for 3 courses when we had only had two. Once noticed and pointed out it was just amended, without a great deal of apology. I don't think we will be rushing back.
Gorgeous atmosphere and wonderful service. My family and I had a really special time. Lovely food. Thank you.
Very pleased with the service. food and value - and all in a great amnbience
we really enjoyed our lunch at the Ivy on Monday..
This was our second visit and even though we really enjoyed our luncheon with you we noticed a few little things had slipped in the customer service department .
On our first visit during the first and second course the waiter came over and removed any crumbs which were on the table ..On our second visit this never happened .
The pouring of the soup into the bowl on our first visit was done with Furness and art ..while during our second visit it was just poured with no show.
Overall we still enjoyed our visit but preferred our first visit ..
Took my mum for mother’s day, it was a real treat , our waiter was super friendly and helpful ! Gave great recommendations .
We will be back for sure !
Lovely ambiance and really enjoyed our lunch and cocktails.
The Ivy has never disappointed, it's my seventh visit. This time was to treat my mum for mother's day breakfast. We had the pancakes. Absolutely scrumptious and a real treat for Mum. The staff are always attentive but not over the top. It feels decadent and relaxed, the surroundings are lovely. My Mum's face says it all... she deserves a treat xx
Great restaurant. Very welcoming, relaxing with excellent food. Be aware that there will be a service charge added to the bill before leaving a big tip!
It was my Husbands and I first time at The Ivy, we enjoyed our evening meal and the ambiance of the restaurant. I can recommend the chocolate bomb for dessert- its looked quite the show and tasted lush too!
The waiter was very helpful and was very polite the food was lovely
It was mothers day on first impression I was impressed. However the service could of been better and in turn would of improved the over all experience. We ordered Earl Gray with lemon slice it came without with milk Instead. Then there was no knife for the scone. I finished my main meal that was the beautiful duck curry but my plate was waiting to be cleared for ten minutes I was going to order desert but the moment had passed. With a name like the ivy u expect five Star device and the added service charge. If the stand of device you expect is met then I do not mind paying. I fell this should be optional and is more insentive for staff to deliver this service instead of just expecting it.
My daughter and I had a lovely Mother’s Day experience . The corner table was ideal and the service , wine and food choices were all super. There was a subtle buzz to the place, creating a lovely day -time ambience . Thank you , I shall return .
We went for Mother’s Day but it’s fairly bog standard food in a nice setting
This visit was to celebrate a friend's Birthday. We loved every minute from the glass of fizz and wonderful starters to the fabulous dessert. The truffles were an added bonus given exgratia by the Ivy as birthday treat. We loved the attention to detail and the people who looked after us were superb. 10/10 😊
Delicious mother’s day lunch with excellent service like usual.
Went to The Ivy for Mother’s Day. We ordered two avocado, roast tomatoes and poached eggs on toast. Instead we waited half an hour to receive avocado with hollandaise sauce on a muffin. We were then told by the waitress that the kitchen had been making several mistakes that day and that we were not the only ones. Hugely disappointed as i’ve been to several Ivy restaurants and I’ve never had such a poor experience. We were given a marginal discount however it doesn’t take away from what was a disappointing experience for what was meant to be a special occasion.
Absolutely great dining experience great menu choice perfectly cooked lovely atmosphere and pleasant and knowledgeable staff we will be back keep it up.
