The Ivy St John's Wood
We always keep a number of tables unreserved throughout the day, allowing you to sample our range of café-style menus at your leisure from breakfast until late, or you can simply pop in for a drink and some nibbles – zucchini fritti and truffle arancini are amongst our favourites.
Open seven days a week, The Ivy St John’s Wood includes outdoor Parisian style street seating, and brings some of the familiarity and charm of The Ivy brand to the already fashionable St John’s Wood.
Crispy courgette fries with lemon
Raw yellowfin tuna with spiced avocado, lime crme frache and coriander shoots
Pasta and courgette linguine with Devon crab, chilli, smoked garlic, lemon and rocket
Birthday brunch. Absolutely fabulous. Service excellent. Overall Highly recommended
Great food and service and good value. The ambience was lovely and very organized during the current social distancing restrictions.
The servers and waitstaff were so kind and professional and friendly and the food was scrumptious as always!!!
An enjoyable first visit after lockdown. Good to get out and savour a good meal!
As a note to management, we were expecting that masks would be used by the restaurant’s staff. It seems like a place of high risk exposure for COVID, given the amount of customers going in and out. It would be good to protect the staff and as result, customers.
The dining experience itself was amazing, as always.
The main dish Salad Chicken and the Flambée Apple Flan dessert I tried were both brilliant. The hospitality and service were good. Very nice atmosphere overall.
Delicious food and staff were great. Only one down side was that they had run out of the only meat dish on the set menu (at 7.30 in the evening) meaning I had to choose from main menu. But, still worked out good value.
Great food, menus and service - highly recommend.
Great service manager was first class, thank you , Brian
Great food. Recommend a visit. Unfortunately service of drinks lets us down that day.
Sea bass was excellent. Two of the guests wanted a different dish but it had run out at 7.30 pm. The chocolate bomber was a little sweet but the apple tart was delicious. There was plenty of place to sit outside but the dust carts and lorries driving past did not add to the ambiance. Health and safety measures in place - temperature taken at start of evening.
Just one disappointing point, daily special had ran out so have to go for full price menu
Took advantage of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. First time to The Ivy in St Johns Wood and won't be my last. Friendly staff, great food, lovely atmosphere. The tables inside were spaced apart enough and lots of tables outside. Highly recommended
Fantastic example of how this upper-end chain can work.
Our Maître d’ was charming, professional and (maybe most importantly in these times) made us feel safe and at home!
Well done to all the team
Great location, lovely friendly staff. Very pleasant sitting outside and they have heaters. Varied menu, food well presented. Enjoyable evening.
Fantastic food and service as always!
Lovely al fresco dinning in SJW. Cocktails were delicious and my fav meal of chicken milanese is always excellent
The Ivy has managed to create a lovely atmosphere even with distancing measures in place. Food is always good and service excellent.
I went at 6pm and it was quiet inside (a little busy outside but understandable as many few safer to eat outside.) The service was great and the food was better! I loved my experience and people sat at every other table so great social distancing. Highly recommend the chicken Milanese and the truffled mash, the duck salad was delicious, but my chocolate bomb dessert was very rich, so great for chocolate lovers (not so much myself.)
good food and wine..in. ice setting. service was good at first but seemed like the second person serving us wasn't having a good day.
Fabulous as usual ! Well done on managing Covid risks without spoiling ambiance
As usual great food
IVY in St John's Wood is always a good idea! Perfect service, food is outstanding and a great atmosphere.
Temperature check, hand sanitizer, all in place. 👍🏻
And, as usual, fab food. Thanks for another great dining experience!
Lovely atmosphere and the restaurant was very well organised in regards to covid screening.
Some issues with service. We were bought a carafe of white wine, rather than the rose we ordered, when we flagged it it was changed but service was fairly slow, the second carafe then appeared on our bill. We noticed, flagged with the waitress and it was removed, but slightly annoying.
Wonderful to go back to the Ivy for a birthday lunch for my son - we had a fantastic time! Delicious food, excellent service and to top it all, we had a private room all to ourselves! We all loved it - will be back very soon! Thank you.
Great food but sure to book a table prior to 9pm or 9:30pm. We could only get a booking at 9:30pm and were told by the waiter upon arrival that we needed to hurry and order, which took away from the experience a bit as we felt rushed.
Birthday dinner with family, had a lovely time, very relaxed, great food, good service.
Overall great. Great service, I didn’t love what I chose to eat but other things were good.
As always a brilliant experience with delicious food and great customer service.
The service was very slow, the staff are lovely but orders were taken wrong as no notepad was used.
My duck salad was lovely but everyone else felt their food was only ok
Please note that the staff were lovely and apologetic but mistake should not have happened
We had a delicious meal for my partner’s birthday. They did a special birthday dessert for him which was lovely, the service was very friendly! The desserts were incredible!
Birthday dinner with my family, the service was faultless, the dishes were delicious and preparation time was brisk. My children, 3 & 7, both loved their meals and were very happy in the stylish settings of the restaurant.
The Best place on the High Street with great food and fine ambience and lovely people.
First dining experience since lockdown. Love the Ivy so decided to go outside and try (with trepidation) having read the Health and Safety work they have done.
So... temperature checked and all ok, sat outside, nice table in expanded seating area. Just socially distanced enough from next door table but back to back so ok.
Cutlery and settings already on table so not sure if new. Other tables and chairs not extensively wiped down as diners left and new diners arrived. Salt and pepper on table but no other condiments (ketchup, mustard) offered with meal unless asked. No one asked how our meal was.
Pleasant but not the usual experience and not really following their own guidance on wiping down so not sure what else is happening behind the scenes
Overall an excellent lunch. Good safety precautions and friendly front of house.
Table service a bit hit and miss, and a little annoying to have the bread served with our main course.
Food was tasty and nicely presented and house Rose very good value
Grey tasteless overcooked steak. I didn’t finish it but didn’t complain. The waiter called the manager, Lee, who came over, not at my request, and proceeded to tell me that the best aged steaks are grey! He offered a free dessert, which we declined. No apology. He charged us for the steak. Then didn’t come for the payment for 15 minutes as he was busy schmoozing with a celebrity hairdresser on the next table. I walked inside to pay, declining the service charge. Instead of letting me pay and leave, they insisted on calling this manager again. After waiting further, he came over with the machine. I said he should have diffused the situation instead of escalating it by telling a customer that their comments are wrong. He told me he found me revolting and that I should never return again. Charming.
The experience exemplifies the dilution of The Ivy brand into a chain of tribute themed cafes ‘managed’ by poorly trained staff. Hollow pretension. Ultimately unsatisfying. Soutine a few doors down is much better.
We enjoyed our meal at The Ivy. Felt very covid safe and the staff were exceptionally welcoming. Service was prompt and helpful. One error - I asked for a Nogroni (no alcohol) and was given a negroni (lots of alcohol) - I realised and it was changed rapidly. We both had the pea soup to start - very pretty, tasty but could have been hotter. The cocounut was a nice but fleeting addition. My husband had the duck salad as a main - was offered large or small and asked for large. Didn't seem very large! Was quite spicy but he enjoyed it. I had the fish of the day - grilled (pan fried?) sea bass fillet with a pesto sauce on the side - delicious. And the truffle chips were very tasty. Would definitely return.
It was the first time we had eaten out since the lockdown and we very much enjoyed our time at the Ivy. They made us stand in front of a device that took our temperature and had hand sanitizer easily accessible. Everything seemed clean and orderly and we were able to eat outside which was fabulous.
It was a real pleasure to be back. It was so enjoyable in every every way---I thought that the clock was turned back six months
