    We had the Ivy house Burger. It was a little dry. Ended up having to douse it with the lovely ketchup dip. The Chips was amazing. Would have ordered more if I was not watching my waist.

    When my guests arrived we initially decided to sit outside. Within a min it began drizzling so we requested an indoor seat . Despite being empty they refused to give us seats so I paid and we left.

    We again thoroughly enjoyed another of our visits to the Ivy on the occasion of Sandra's birthday celebration which is on the 12 May, and were pleased to receive a Celebration Plate, although it was labelled for our Anniversary which is on the 18th October.

    Delightful place: table next to loo door not ideal(tho didn’t complain!) Service slightly slow , tea order seemed to take forever, but scones freshly made so that bit not surprising. Observant waitress seems to have spotted it was my birthday when I ordered your house champagne and kindly provided a yummy choc filled and candle topped profiterol on a decorated plate .

    Ordered a fruit salad... received a plate of watermelon and yoghurt???!!! I was in a rush so I didn't complain at the time but next time Ivy just be honest and tell your guests you either have run out of fruit or you have no idea what a fruit salad is.

    I think the device has really improved. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was hot and very tasty. I was really impressed and would def not hesitate to return.

    We booked a table to celebrate a family birthday. From arrival to paying we had to promt the waiter at each point of the meal. When our guests arrived they didn’t offer them drinks. This went on throughout the meal. Food came at all different points, it was very slow. Sides coming way after main meal was served and the same again asking if we could order desserts. The drinks were incredibly slow. It seemed that the waiter was over stretched and couldn’t give us his full attention. When spending £400-500 pounds on a meal you expect to have better service. The whole meal we had to ask for things that hadn’t arrived or even the correctly cutlery to eat the courses. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful place to eat and the food is always delicious.

    Teeny tiny bottle of coke,(less than a can) costing £3.50 When asked for ice, a few lumps in a little glass. Our chips were not good,and luke warm, also other side dishes. Had to ask for our water 3 times before it was poured. Not the best quality minute steak. Fish was too mushy, like the peas! I was hosting a couple of American friends, who are used to a different standard, especially having a jug of iced water to start with, and a Coke to last a meal-no refills here! Having come back from the US and having gone to many restaurants in Houston, Texas, we have a lot to learn here about what is GOOD value, and not stinginess. This place is off my list.

    They had remembered we had asked for side by side seating . They did not take the order for ages and the neighbouring table came in later but were served before us.. Eventually we caught a young waiter who was good . For some reason the senior waiter ignored us and it was pretty obvious. I have been a customer there quite frequently but they need to realise there is a lot of competition in St Johns Wood and it would be easy to find alternative places.

    Service is slow and we waited 45 mins for our meal. I understand staffing is a great concern but why open tables if you can't serve your guests in a timely manner. We were starving by the time dinner came and spent way too much time waiting for someone to take our order- 20 Mins at least.

    The ivy has really gone down in quality of service, the staff would clear up our starter plates and cutlery before we even finished eating, and we felt as if they were rushing us. Before we asked for the bill, they hadn’t even cleared our main meal plates and didn’t even ask if we wanted a dessert. I also asked for sauces and by the time I got them my chips were cold. I used to love attending the ivy and now I feel like it’s a waste of money.

    One of the reasons I pick the ivy is for the experience. The service let us down. We waited 10 minutes for water to the table and every time we wanted anything I had to look and call for someone to assist. The only time they speeded up was when they wanted to clear the table for the next service.

    The Sicilian guy who served us were very helpful ,kind and friendly no one came to help I asked for cheese from female waitress she said yes and never turned up ، had no space to to put our plates kept calling someone to clear the table , the woman who were wearing red outside cut me off and made wait to answer guest who came after me asking if there's availablity for a table outside I had to stop her and tell her hey I'm here before you The ivy is beautiful but workers always unprofessional and very unorganized and unfriendly with no manners

    Came to the ivy for my friend’s birthday and a lovely cake was given at the end of the meal. Food was good only criticism was the mushy peas were cold. On the whole, great meal and service.

    We have been to this restaurant several times before and were very pleased. However our visit on Sunday was very disappointing. The waiter was abrupt when we advised him the rose wine was warm and he disagreed. We had to request ice cubes to cool the wine. When the meal was served, the chips were barely warm and not crisp. By the time replacement chips arrived n( hot but still not crisp) we had almost finished the meal. The mushy peas were also luke warm but we did not want to raise further complaints. A disappointing evening from a reputable establishment.

    The food was meh and the whole experience was marred by an irate maitre d. We were given a free meal to make up for the poor experience but I would have preferred to have paid and enjoyed a nice evening out.

    Having been shown our table, we were left to look at the menu. 10 minutes later we were asked if we would like to order, and hadn’t been asked if we wanted a drink first. We ordered drinks which did come, but the Still Water we asked for never came to the table. Ordered two minute steaks, one with salad, the other with chips. Both came with salad. Asked for it to be changed for chips, and when they came, we’re only like warm. Not the type of evening I expected from ‘The Ivy’.
