Lovely atmosphere, great food and attentive service. I look forward to a return visit
The Ivy is not the restaurant that it used to be. The service is beyond slow - I would advise taking a flag to wave for attention. Pick your food very carefully. It either arrives raw or microwave hot. And there is a film of oily stuff on everything. Nothing is reasonably priced - expect no change from £100. What was supposed to be a special treat for my son, turned into one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had
Service was friendly and helpful
Food was lovely plenty of tempura prawns for starter, everything hot and cooked really well
Overall lovely evening
Would definitely go again
The food was overpriced (£30 for a small portion of linguini), bland and the service was poor (for example, we only received our wine after we had already finished our main course). The only nice thing about this restaurant is the decor (very cozy). Won’t be back.
Blessed to have this venue as my local restaurant. Delicious dishes and a relaxed atmosphere.
We love The Ivy! I'm a new Londoner as of this spring, and have now visited the Marylebone and St. Johns Wood locations - we just love the ambiance, food and feel of the place; we will definitely be back, and often
Second time at Ivy @ St John’s Wood. Once again food service and ambience wonderful. We had a private room (arranged by my husband for my birthday!) Wild mushroom starter was absolutely delicious. Perfect restaurant for a special occasion
The service was perfect, lovely and delicious food! 🤤
We used a gift card to purchase our food. I loved the sirloin steak and chips.
The starters were amazing
I did not like the drink which was elderflower garden (too strong for my liking)
Overall the vibes were immaculate.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
The food was excellent. Service was friendly but outside service is slow with very long waits even for tea and coffee. Also, only one patio heater can be plugged in at a time. So, in November, two neighbouring tables can't both have the patio heater above their table on. Many people still prefer to eat outside due to Covid so this seems short-sighted. I would recommend. And I still give it an overall 4 stars.
Very bad service
Very enjoyable but unfortunately a very noisy large table close by.
The food is getting better and better every time I go. Black cod was divine, and tiramisu just out of this world - moist and soft and light and bursting with coffee flavour.
Slightly overwhelming experience for dinner. Good wasn’t great, chips undercooked. Not enough vegetable with the roast chicken dish.
Waiter was disastrous
the decor is great but the food was poor...we had to wait for a long time for our simple main courses. the service when it came was attentive and good but the food took a long time to arrive.
fish cake and peas seemed to have been under a light and waiting to come out for quite a while......it had congealed.
just not great to be honest. but fine....
Nice food, great atmosphere, a tiny bit pricey but worth
Heaters not working outside, staff very attentive although unnecessarily slow service which is unpleasant whilst sitting outside, however would still return.
We had a great seat at the restaurant. The staff were friendly, patient and had great knowledge to advise on the best food to eat to our requirements. Look forward to go again
Very disappointed, my 91 year old father couldn’t use toilet facilities as it was located down a steep staircase. Food arrived slow after 1 hour and 1 meal was uncooked the other cold. Waitress dropped glass of ice on me. Not disable friendly and told to use restaurant facilities next door. This should have been stated on website and I wouldn’t have booked this particular restaurant.
Food always comes cold especially for the party of 2+
We had a lovely weekend lunch… the chicken Milanese and goose sherherds pie were both delicious, and our waitress was very professional
The service was awful and our food arrived cold.
Amazing food and lovely ambience. Service was excellent with some great recommendations on drinks.
We had a great time, food was great and we weren’t rushed. Very relaxing evening
Not really sure what to say. I have been to several Ivy Brassiere's and this by far was the worst of the lot. I booked thru OT and they didnt seem to have any sense of the booking at all, one of our party is Gluten Free and it was the end of a special occasion day, none of which was acknowledged. I cant believe that they do not have a gluten free menu and when pressed knowledge were sketchy about what they could offer!
The menu as advertised was incomplete, due to the supply chain, and the standard of food left a lot to be desired. Service was terrible, 3 of us got our starters and the 4 in our party had to wait and wait until something was said! No sooner and I mean no sooner, had we finished the starters than the mains arrived. It was like watching a car crash waiting to happen.
I did complain and in truth I should have pushed for a bigger discount, but we all just wanted to go.
We will use the Ivey again, just not the one at St Johns Wood.
Intriguing and delicious food. Good choice of vegetarian dishes, cooked to ensure you were experiencing a special evening.
In such a nice restaurant it is disgraceful that you do not have a disabled toilet which I need and sent me round to the chicken shop for one!! The chicken shop does not look clean and you are totally inconsiderate not to have your own one. I was told that building regulations state that you must have one
always a pleasure to step into the Ivy with its colourful decor, warm ambience and efficient friendly staff. food good as always, the coffee could certainly get better!
Had a great birthday meal for daughter. Topped off with a complimentary candle in a huge profiterole
I cannot fault the level of service, but I must confess that for the price the portions were a little on the small size. The quality of the food was excellent and all my guests enjoyed the lunch.
As per usual, the service was impeccable and the food superb, but sadly we encountered two hiccups. I tried the SALT AND PEPPER SQUID Wasabi and miso mayonnaise, Sriracha, Szechuan salt, coriander and lime - one needs an acquired taste for this and regrettably I found it not to my liking. We also ordered one of the 'daily specials' Venison Loin, it had been seasoned with way too much salt and it had to be returned, however, we chose instead SALMON AND SMOKED HADDOCK FISH CAKE Crushed pea and herb sauce with a soft poached hen’s egg and baby watercress and that was far nicer. Finished our meals off with outstanding CHOCOLATE BOMBES Melting chocolate bombe with a vanilla ice cream, honeycomb centre and hot salted caramel sauce - Fabulous!
Everything was perfect & enjoyable menu lots of choice
Whilst the pandemic is 'seemingly at an end' the social distancing at the Ivy was non existent with people packed in like sardines. I was very uncomfortable and aksed to move - which was no better.
The food was edible but the price a coke in the smalles t bottle was a joke. Tap water next time.
the noise level was horrensdous.
wont be returning.
Wonderful time after tge Riyal Albert hall for the remembrance service … a lovely way to end a special day
Afternoon tea for 2 came for only one of us to start with and that took forever to arrive once we eventually got a members of staffs attention to be able to order. When the other plate arrived the sandwiches and cakes were very good
However the service was appalling. Food took long time to arrive
Staff totally disinterested in helping or answering queries. Even the manager made no comment as to why we had asked for the 12.5% service charge to be deducted from the bill
Staff left their shift, laundry and rubbish all left through the front door of the restaurant while we were eating
The toilets were dirty with no loo roll
Overall we were very disappointed in the occasion
Poor service, had to complain in between my meal to the manager.
4people ordered forgot to bring the main courses for
My wife and the wife of my friend so the men had to eat by themselves
Service very slow. Starter came cold and had to return. Also, wrong bill was brought to us for far more value. Toilets not clean.
See private note.
