The Ivy St John's Wood
We always keep a number of tables unreserved throughout the day, allowing you to sample our range of café-style menus at your leisure from breakfast until late, or you can simply pop in for a drink and some nibbles – zucchini fritti and truffle arancini are amongst our favourites.
Open seven days a week, The Ivy St John’s Wood includes outdoor Parisian style street seating, and brings some of the familiarity and charm of The Ivy brand to the already fashionable St John’s Wood.
Apple Tart Fine
Baked apple tart with vanilla ice cream and Calvados flamb
Hand chopped beef striploin with Tabasco dressing, cornichon, shallot, parsley, egg yolk and toasted granary
Garden of the Abbey
Elderflower vodka, cucumber, apple, lime, cider sparkle
Great service and will return and food was on point
We had our temperatures checked before going into the restaurant. The staff were delightful and very helpful throughout the evening. They were attentive, but not over the top. The food was all delicious, well presented, and as we had ordered it. We were able to park very close which was a concern when I booked, but I won't worry again now that I know how easy it was. It was a birthday celebration and they gave me a delicious little cake which was a lovely touch.
The only reason why I have not rated it as a 5 star is that it was obvious to us that there were people there who were not from the same household which is not allowed indoors in a Tier 2 area restaurant, and they did not insist on customers wearing masks when walking around the restaurant. So from a Covid perspective, it could have felt safer.
We have visited the Ivy 3 times in the last week and enjoyed the food and hospitality everytime.
The staff are very polite and welcoming and the food is excellent and one of the main reasons for returning quite often here.
A fantastic ambience, perfect for a weekend rendezvous
We had our anniversary meal there last night, it was lovely!! The surprise anniversary cake was a special touch, thank you!
Pleasant welcome. Covid 19 protocols followed. Food could have arrived a bit early
Twice got my order wrong. Drinks and food.
I ordered the vegan option and I was bought the meat one.
By the time it was changed I only had 5 minutes to finish it and eat at different times as my partner.
Wonderful service, food and location. Would highly recommend.
The food was OK and service adequate. Decore is very good for this area. The price tag was bit out of proportion for this combination of food/service.
Lovely place and the food was amazing. Great service too. Could not fault anything about our evening there
The Covid testing etc was efficiently and smoothly operated. The general ambience is old fashioned and charming. The staff are very attentive and although there was a minor mistake, it was immediately put right. We had an excellent meal in a very pleasant atmosphere.
Amazing waiter , so friendly gave us great suggestions from the menu . It was my daughters birthday and he brought a cake to our table with a candle in , such a lovely touch. Will most definitely recommend it and be back ourselves
Always enjoy dining at the Ivy SJW. A most enjoyable experience
My first issue was that upon making the booking I advised them that I was meeting with people outside of my family. We needed to eat outside. They claimed that was not their policy. You cannot reserve an outdoor table at The Ivy in SJW. I understand places need to have their policies but in these times we need to be amenable to changes. We went there and decided we would leave if they couldn’t accommodate us. Again. They asked us if we would eat indoors and again we said we couldn’t. The hostess told us they would allow it “at our own risk”. Isn’t it presently against the LAW? And she argued about it!
Furthermore, the service was awful. Not usual for The Ivy as I’ve been here many times. Someone who ordered salmon received steak. Then her salmon came after our dishes were cold. When we asked for the bill everyone around us got theirs but we needed to ask 2 more times. They didn’t charge us for the salmon which is why I gave the 2 stars.
But get with the program! We don’t want a full lock down again! Just follow the rules!
We will visit the Ivy again but maybe not this location.
They made my birthday very special!
Standard of food was very poor, overcooked burger, lukewarm chips, and the menu was essentially a pub food menu charged at much higher prices.
Went to the Ivy with my partner for his birthday, well what a lovely evening we had at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Hostess was a little rude but waitresses were really sweet, food was quite average, ambience had a nice buzz to it.
Very beautiful restaurant and nice atmosphere the food was delicious .
We had an a wonderful breakfast, the food, the atmosphere and the service were amazing.
we did enjoy our food very much....................
My companion and I felt rushed, had no idea when booking that we had the table for less than 2 hours (my booking was for 18.15 and we were out by 20.00) Food was clearly pre cooked and wormed up as our shepherd’s pies (my favourite dish at The Ivy in the past) arrived within 5 minutes of us placing the order. We were interrupted several times in order to hurry us up under the various pretences. Tiramisu I ordered was probably one of the most disappointing Tiramisus I have ever had. It tasted of nothing, like a sponge dipped in what tasted like flavoured water and what I guessed must have been at some point Grand Marnier.
Good food plus good service.Thank you Ivys team.
Such a pleasurable dining experience as always!
Gorgeous knowledgeable staff, big smiles, lovely ambience & attention to customers!
Food consistently very good & fairly priced.
Keep up the great work team IVY St John’s Wood!
Looking forward to return soon! ;)
Glorious decor full of exotic birds and animals - even the toilets are fabulous :) Gorgeous food, great vegetarian & vegan menu too. It was a bit noisy as the restaurant filled in but if you book at 6pm (as I did), it's much better. Really lovely for a special occasion and the set menus make it more affordable. It's my favourite restaurant by far - I feel like I'm on holiday the moment I walk through the doors as I've seen many of birds and mammals featured in the wild... I DO hope that it survives the C-19 crisis, it'd be a great shame if it didn't.
Food lovely - service terribly slow. We waited ages to order and ages for the food to arrive and ran out of time. We had to leave and asked to take our main courses home with us. But it was delicious - even reheated.
This was the second postponed catch up Thank You meal in two weeks at an Ivy. Turned out to be propitious, given looming Lockdown2! We were so pleased to be there. I was treating my heroic local parish pries, to thank him for all his selfless service to the community. We had the prefect lunch; for which sincere thanks. Your zucchini is a 6th proof for the existence of the Divine, as is the Chocolate Bombe! The standard of service puts other places to shame and there is a delightful buzz where one senses people having fun with friends.I have noted before how the service is impeccable without being intrusive or showy, from the moment one phones to book or simply steps across the threshold.
Very comfortable and Felt Covid secure.
Attentive service and food was very tasty and beautifully presented
Food was delicious and the atmosphere inside was great! The service was a little lacking- we felt our server was slightly rushed every time he came over to talk to us and was always hurrying off before we'd even finished our sentence.
Enjoyed the English breakfast! They should include tea coffee or juice with it .
Great service and good food all Covid measures were in place and felt at ease
Hope to see you guys again soon
Really lively, bright luminous decor, food very good and service too. Acoustics not great so a bit too noisy.
I love the Ivy and main menu. The decor is fantastic and I always have wonderful socials. However this was my first breakfast/brunch here and I was disappointed.
My smoothie was refreshing but in a slim tall cocktail glass and slightly watery. Most brunch places serve them in larger wider glasses and it’s thicker.
More disappointing were my eggs - tasteless and wet/sloppy. I will stick to pain quotidien or other usual healthy breakfast places - unless I want ambience over food.
Good spacing of tables and mask wearing by staff.
We loved our dining experience at the Ivy. The restaurant interiors are absolutely stunning, with beautiful artwork and decoration. The staff were polite, warm and friendly, and the food was delicious.
Consistently reliable and high-quality restaurant in St Johns Wood with excellent service. We are always happy to return. The restaurant is respecting social distancing and provides hand sanitizers etc. If only the clients were more aware of the pandemic.
A Lovely brunch, super lovely and attentive staff.
The “brunch” menu is not a real brunch menu - v limited selection of eggs - no omelettes !
Service was v v slow
