The walls of The Archer Room are adorned with colourful vintage prints and locally referenced artwork inspired by the industrial revolution, steam engine and rail, theatre, ballet and cricket. The dark timber flooring, lantern pendant lighting, dark green leather upholstery and Art Deco-style add a touch of glamour to the space.
The room is versatile, and as equally suited to private parties and celebrations as it is to corporate breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The space provides the ideal setting for entertaining friends, family and clients in Birmingham. Complimentary menu cards and place cards are provided for each event and each table is decorated with seasonal flowers and tea lights.
Friendly and attentive staff, food beautifully presented with delicate flavours but plentiful in portion size. A quirky decor to view whilst spending time there
The service, food and ambience was excellent as always. My only issue is with the online booking. We booked a table for 4 online and were told the only available times were 10am or 2pm - neither of which is ideal for lunch. We then turned up at 1pm and were seated immediately, by 2pm the restaurant was nearly empty. I have no idea why the online booking gives so little availability when there is clearly space? it's frustrating if you have planned in advance.
This is an amazing venue and keeps the “The Ivy” standards one is used to from London and offers Birmingham a real quality venue for all types occasions. The one thing I was most impressed with was
I ordered a flattened steak pink, but it was brown all the way through
Been here several times but for some reason this Sunday evening the food took AGES to come. Never had this before so hope it’s one off.
I enjoyed it so much booking it for my birthday in November, staff excellent knew the history of THE Ivy , decor stunning loved it cant wait to go back
Fun athmosphere, staff were well trained and polite, knowledgeable about the menu.
Food was delicious 😋 will go again!
I booked the table very easily for my wife's birthday. The food was very good. Nice atmosphere and the service was very good.
Loved my experience, stunning inside and service was fantastic!
Had a fantastic time staff was friendly and very accommodating to my small child. The only down side was my sister had previously told them that it was my birthday and they said we will bring out a birthday pudding treat but never. Staff seemed very busy. Table wasn’t ready but only waited around 10 minutes.
Food was faultless, service was good but we felt rushed. Meal arrived far to quickly. The restaurant was disappointingly quiet, therefore atmosphere & ambience was poor. I would return & hope that we would be luckier with the atmosphere and the service a little less rushed.
Lovely sunday breakfast . Very helpful and happy staff lovely setting
I was so impressed with the decor, which was slowly taken in on arrival, the Barman was ready to take our orders immediately and he was so friendly!
As we sat at our table the menu was read , so impressed with the diversity of dishes , the starter of prawn and squid was SUPERB, chicken Provençal was delicious, hearty, and presented exquisitely.
Desert was blackberrie Sunday , the treat I deserved, so fruity coupled with creamy dreamy ice cream and meringue surprises throughout and a buttery textured shortbread balanced on the top , yummy :-)
Loved the restaurant, food and service. The only thing that let it down was the cocktails but the house champagne was really nice.
Lovely restaurant overlooking the cathedral in Birmingham. I booked a table for my mum and I as a pre-theatre treat for her birthday, and I have to say we couldn’t fault The Ivy from the welcome when we arrived to our waiter and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely go again for an evening meal and to try the cocktails as they looked amazing.
This is my second visit to the restaurant and unfortunately was extremely disappointed. My friend received uncooked poached eggs twice. She has a dairy intolerance and cant have soya. She had one almond milk latte which was too strong so asked for a little more milk to be told they’d ran out of almond milk and had no coconut milk. We waited a long time for service which I remember was a problem last time we ate there and their acoustics needs sorting. It’s far too noisy to have a chilled catch up and a chat.
Exceeded my expectations. Fantastic menu, food was divine. Ambiance was excellent and the service top class. Will definitely return!
Food and atmosphere was amazing. Definitely be returning!
Food was unreal everything we had was so so nice and we are fussy and only go to the best places so really impressed
I booked the Ivy for our Silver wedding anniversary. We had limited time to play with due to work commitments but were able to get a suitable slop at lunchtime. On arrival we were impressed by the layout and décor, together with the greeting service.
We were given a lovely table on the upper floor and the service was both efficient and friendly from the off. The restaurant was busy and quite noisy , but this added to the atmosphere. Everybody around us was having a great time.
Menu was great with plenty of choice as was the wine list. We both had starters, mains and deserts which were of an very high standard. This was all washed down with a nice bottle of wine. We all received a complimentary mini cheesecake in relation our anniversary which was a nice touch.
The service was very good throughout and we were never rushed.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Ivy
It was my friend’s 50th bday celebration meal before going to the theatre.
Such a lovely day - thank you!
Waiter was very professional and friendly offering recommendations and was attentive without being in the way.
Lovely meal at The Ivy, great atmosphere, delightful food with great service.
Set lunch menu is really good value, watch out for the service charge.
Will defiantly be returning.
We had a lovely meal for 4 friends at The Ivy - a very varied menu, extremely friendly staff and a lovely buzz about the restaurant
Beautiful venue, as expected from The Ivy chain. The staff were very accommodating. I found it a little loud and hectic for me but would definitely return. Prices are reasonable. My starter of Tuna Carpaccio was the highlight.
I had booked a table for 6pm which I was shown to at 6pm. By 6.27pm my friend had still not arrived which I thought strange. I texted her. She replied, asking where I was because she was upstairs in the restaurant and i was downstairs!!.....
The food is very average but the staff excellent even after this error. Great ambience. Now I've been I shan't be back.
Very good addition to Bham restaurant scene
Only booked at the last minute but was impressed, particularly by the staff
Had the fixed lunch menu which had excellent choices plus the house red which was a good choice
Will go again, probably as a pre theatre meal
Lovely food, great service and a fab ambience. The interior design is also worth commenting upon. A really nice place to spend an hour or so and enjoy company and the food. Excellent service from friendly staff.
Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend this restaurant and the chain in general.
The gas had been off all morning so we were only offered cold starters whilst the ovens heated up, which was fine - beyond their control. I was asked how I would like my salmon cooked and offered the options, I chose pink, but it came virtually cremated, incredibly dry. All the other diners were happy however and my tuna carpaccio starter was very good.
Great food great service. Lovely atmosphere and made to feel very welcome
Delightful experience. Chose this venue for a pre theatre dinner. Cocktails, wine and a delicious dinner. Impeccable service made the whole evening such a lovely occasion.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience. Food was delicious and service was amazing. Our lovely waitress made it even more special.
Very enjoyable lunch. Food and service excellent on the whole, spoiled slightly by undercooked salmon dish. My guest sent it back but didn't get her meal for more than 20 minutes, so myself and another guest had to sit and watch our own meals go cold while we all waited. Waiter took cost of the bread off the bill to compensate us! Lovely place, though, and good ambience. Will give it another try, but probably avoid the salmon...
Really enjoyed my visit to The Ivy for a birthday celebration, can’t wait to go again.
A first visit for five good, old friends having a lunchtime get together.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, service and food served at The Ivy.
Undoubtedly we will return in the same group and with others friends.
Thank you very much for providing a great experience.
It was my husbands 80th birthday so we had been before, but this time we entertained friends. It was a great success and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Food was better than the time before - perhaps we choose more carefully. We all had the chocolate bombe and that is sublime !! Would definitely go again.
Lovely meal, they had run out of a few things on the menu which was a shame as a couple of those were what we had ordered. Our waiter was brilliant ( I think his name was Jason) though and kept our wine topped up throughout the meal.
Great food, painfully slow service. Shan’t be returning.
Tasteful surroundings, very attentive staff and excellent food
Staff all look great. Very professional but friendly. Food excellent. Good atmosphere and decor interesting.
