The Ivy Temple Row
Fri, Sat 08:00–23:30
The walls of The Archer Room are adorned with colourful vintage prints and locally referenced artwork inspired by the industrial revolution, steam engine and rail, theatre, ballet and cricket. The dark timber flooring, lantern pendant lighting, dark green leather upholstery and Art Deco-style add a touch of glamour to the space.
The room is versatile, and as equally suited to private parties and celebrations as it is to corporate breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The space provides the ideal setting for entertaining friends, family and clients in Birmingham. Complimentary menu cards and place cards are provided for each event and each table is decorated with seasonal flowers and tea lights.
No problems with staff and food very good the only issue was for the money you pay the tables are very close to one another
Excellent food and service
Would definitely recommend
My old school friends and I often meet here for lunch and we love it. We ask to be seated upstairs now as the noise level downstairs is almost unbeareable and a good conversation cannot be had.
Good and service is lovely. The decoration of restaurant is beautiful.
It was our first time and a birthday meal. Great food and staff. We will be back again.
The whole experience wasn't as good as we expected. The food wasn’t the best, steak was over cooked. The service could have been better. Disappointed.
Dress code was apparently not put in place group of lads sitting there with Caps on and tracksuits made it feel uncomfortable for those around
Great menu beautiful surroundings very pleasant eating experience would definitely recommend the ivy
Would recommend for any occasion , for any time of the year.
Wonderful food and service including a surprise birthday treat for my fiancée. Surpassed all expectations.
The overall experience was very good, however, the greeting at the door and when you leave us very poor and rude. The staff need to ge trained on how to initially greet guests and assist with helping on their coats etc
Once you are inside the restaurant the staff were very attentive and polite.
Had lunch there with the wife on a Saturday afternoon. Superb all round.
Very enjoyable afternoon having lunch at The Ivy. Lovely light, bright space with a warm and welcoming atmosphere thanks to attentive staff. Delicious food as one would expect. Lovely to have a branch of this iconic restaurant in Brum.
Absolutely loved my Birthday Lunch at The Ivy
Georgia our waitress was amazing !! Both food & service were fantastic 10/10 I couldn’t fault anything....Can’t wait to go back x
I ordered blackened cod for my main dish. This arrived beautifully presented but I could tell immediately that the cod was undercooked. It should be white and flaky. It was still translucent. The middle of the cod was inedible as it contained a sinewy middle. I told my waitress, Georgia, about this. She was apologetic and took it back for a replacement. Liz Burton came to the table to explain that the chef had photographed the cod as it should not contain a sinewy middle and would be complaining to the supplier. A new dish was cooked. The cod was undercooked as before. I was unable to eat this and just had chips for my lunch. Liz was very apologetic and could see for herself that the dish was not good. I thought she handled the situation very well and professionally. Thank you Liz. I was not charged for this dish.
Lovely breakfast - great selection and fairly priced.
Treated my Aunt to brunch for her birthday. Lovely atmosphere and decor, really makes it feel like a special occasion. Food was outstanding. I had eggs Benedict and my Aunt had the veggie breakfast. Staff were all very friendly and attentive, only criticism I would have is that it took a while to get the refill of our teas but apart from that, can't fault anything. Would definitely go back!
I booked a table at the Ivy for a date night with my wife. It was excellent all around; great service and atmosphere, delicious cocktails and food, perfect for a romantic meal.
Only average food. Charge extra for vegetables & potato’s.
We went as a party of 5 to celebrate our son’s graduation. The food was magnificent and the service was attentive without intrusion-we couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks Birmingham Ivy-we’ve already booked to return next month!
Came here after my graduation for lunch with my family. We all had a lovely time. The lunch menu is such good value. Cocktails were also very good. We sat upstairs which I prefer however when ordering drinks it was very slow, having to ask for them once or twice. But amazing!!
We attended the Ivy on Friday 11th Jan for lunch @ 2.00pm. The selection of food is wonderful and the taste is fantastic, we couldn't fault the food. The service however is awful. This is the 2nd time I've been for lunch and the service the first time was just as bad which my friends and I put down as being the Christmas period and it being busy. This time I couldn't really see what the issue was. We stood at the bar waiting to be served for a drink for at least 10 minutes without being acknowledged and in the end the waitress advised our table was ready. We then sat for a further 10 minutes until another waitress arrived and took our drinks order. My colleague ordered steak along side a glass of red wine. The red wine came after he'd eaten his dinner despite us reminding the waitress several times.
After asking for the bill the waitress herself advised that she would take the glass of wine off the bill and the service charge. Even she knew it we would dispute it.
Its a shame really as it is a really nice place but there seem to be too many managers who stand around doing nothing and not enough waitress / waiters.
Truly wonderful, from entering to finally leaving. Staff and food were amazing.
We were their to celebrate friends 50 birthday, the young quirky girl that looked after us , made us feel very special and made light conversation, which made us laugh a few times ... have told my other friends and can’t wait to go back again....
The decor of the ivy was very tasteful... x
On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and attentive.
However, the Monk fish in the curry was inedible... very tough and couldn’t even cut it with a knife!
This was my wife’s second bad experience here in just two visits... previously had to return fish to the kitchen because it was raw in the middle!
Certainly don’t plan to return in a hurry!!
Four friends had the set lunch menu and all of us agreed we totally enjoyed our experience and would absolutely come again and would recommend.
Have always enjoyed The Ivy brassiere in several locations. The food never disappoints. The service on this visit was below normal standard, we had a very characterful waiter who although was cheerful and attentive, managed to irritate a few members of the group. Wouldn’t put me off booking again but feel it is important to write an honest review.
Service fantastic and remembered it was my wife’s birthday with a drink for her on the house (very nice touch)
Afternoon tea could do with a little more savoury things on it but all was nice.
Excellent service, portion sizes just right. Comfortable ambience.
This was our first time at The Ivy and we will be returning
Whilst the food and the female matradee were good, the champagne was served without tasting and staff were up ladders taking decorations down whilst we were eating. We waited for one main which was very good when it arrived by then the side had gone cold. The service level fell incredibly short of our experience at the London Ivy sadly.
I went to the Ivy as part of a birthday celebration with a party of nine and I have to say the evening was excellent. The service was excellent. The quality and choice of food was equally so.
We had some very slight delays on one main course and one pudding that was so slight it didn’t affect our evening but voluntarily, both were deducted from the bill. A surprise to say the least as we wouldn’t have made an issue of it at all. To me, it shows the standards The Ivy as aspiring to and to self recognise when that doesn't happen, even if the customer doesn’t, says a lot.
I will definitely be returning.
The food was good, not exceptional for the price. There were lots of waiters, but it wasn't busy so they were standing round talking to each other. Don't mind this, but I waited a while for someone to come over to take my order. Nice decor as with other Ivy restaurants.
Clean, fresh & sophisticated. A warm welcome and attention to service our every need
Great restaurant , great food, great service, however the booking system needs to be joined up as I originally booked for 5 people through open table app,but was not allowed by the booking service to increase to 6 with 2 days notice.
Got there and was seated at a table for 6?
Manager was apologetic.
My adviceis to call the restaurant direct to avoid any dissapointment.
Must stress the point that this is still a fantastic restaurant. We will return.
Main meal was served as soon as we had finished our last mouthful of food from the starter and was brought over whilst our starter plates were still in front of us as they hadn't been cleared. Not what I expected from 'The Ivy'.
I booked the ivy for my husband's birthday the staff were very welcoming and attentive, the food was exceptional atmosphere was lovely. Overall lovely place highly recommend
Service was not that great had to wait around for plates
We had the champagne afternoon tea and it was lovely. I would recommend it to my friends and family.
Fantastic service! Waiter couldn't do enough for us! They even bough out a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. will definitely be returning!
Excellent and friendly service with more than a excellent food
