The Ivy Temple Row
I would certainly go again and it's great to see an offshoot of The Ivy in Brum.
I liked almost everything but two things: there was pigeon or partridge or something on the menu and without asking the waitress told us it would taste like chicken - ie as if we were a bit ignorant (actually I am a bit ignorant as I don't eat meat), then as she was clearing the table for dessert the waitress asked if we would like to take the remaining bread home - ie as if we are very poor and needed the bread.
Apart from that it's a welcome addition to the Birmingham restaurant scene.
We enjoyed a lovely 25th a Wedding Anniversary meal here. Great corner table and superb food. Service was excellent and the ‘Happy Anniversary’ dessert that was brought out was a nice surprise!
It was our wedding day and the staff were outstanding so was the food. They made us feel really special.
The decor in the Ivy is breathtaking ordered the potted mackerel which was stunning had the steak for main which was nothing special but was enjoyable, would visit again great place to eat
Food was excellent but service was poor. Arrived at 13.30 and finally got our main course at 14.20 (we weren't having a starter). Kept having to chase up waitress and wine wasn't topped up promptly. Had a lot of wine left in the bottle after the main course.
We were meeting friends at 15.30 and had to chase dessert to fit it in.
Will think twice about going back given the poor service.
Great food, lovely way to catch up with friends will be back again soon
Excellent visit both the food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend the monkfish and prawn curry
Food was excellent, but service was very slow, waited a long time for ordering , drinks and food.
Service was impeccable. Very attentive staff. Food was good but not the excellence that I was expecting. All in all a great experience, thank you
Unfortunately, my birthday dinner was ruined by the experience. All the meals came out cold and some weren't even cooked properly. There was no flavour or seasoning to the food in all honesty. They returned one of our pork dishes raw twice! It wasn't what I expected after hearing such great reviews of the food. The manager was lovely enough to take the food off our bill and gave free drinks but we left hungry as we didn't want to risk ordering any more dishes. It was thoroughly disappointing and I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend. A birthday dinner thoroughly spoilt. But our waiter was a gem though. It seems like most people were complaining about their food not being up to the standard of The Ivy that night. Very disappointing.
Unfortunately having waited almost 50mins for the main course I was brought the wrong order . When the main was returned my wife's was lukewarm at best as I presume it had been left standing during the reorder disappointing as it had been a meal out for our wedding anniversary
Loved the experience and afternoon tea
Fab decor.Great ambience. Food scrummy. Just note that service is included!
Lovely lunch , amazing food and fabulous service. Atmosphere was relaxed and all staff attentive .
I have been here many times with different friends. Always good service and lovely food
Fantastic pre birthday brunch. Service was brilliant. Food was in credible. The venue was exactly what I hoped for
There was a mix up with our order, my friend ordered plain salmon & when her food came it was a steak sandwich. We then waited for 40 mins for all of our food to arrive. We were apologised to by the manager & given complementary drinks & service charge removed from the bill. I love the Ivy, the food the atmosphere & will definitely visit again. The situation was dealt with professionally by the management team
Fabulous loved it. Everything PERFECT food was delicious servoce was great decor very relaxing.
Lovely atmosphere. Lovely food. Polite and professional staff. Will come again.
Fish and chips very poor. Soggy batter chips not crisp. I
Excellent service lovely food and a lovely ambience
Excellent early dining special menu served before 6.30pn, beautiful flavours & great value.
A tiny issue - I sat at the bar waiting for my pal to arrive. Purchased & paid for a glass of wine & surprised that 12.5% service charge added on to that. Understand perfectly acceptable for table service.
Fabulous restaurant, great atmosphere with a very stylish interior. Lovely staff, food is always good - salmon, chicken & steak mains were all cooked to perfection !
Can we have an ‘Ivy’ in Solihull please ❤️
Excellent as usual beautiful food , very good unobtrusive service , lovely interior.
Staff very pleasant and attentive. Decor attractive. Two slight reservations, some of the tables are too close together and the noise level, at busy times, on the ground floor, means you have raise your voice to be heard.
Excellent service from Mark, food was exceptional
Would definitely recommend this to friends and family
Excellent food but service not quite as good as previously
Good quality food, lovely atmosphere, excellent service
My third visit and it was excellent again. The staff are very professional and well trained yet ‘friendly ‘. The Ivy also gave me a table I specifically requested which ,considering how many tables were full, was excellent service! Food was well presented and good quality. Not cheap - and veg as an extra cost always rankles a tad yet you accept it - but the overall ambience and enjoyment is worth it. A fourth visit for sure when next in Brum !
Due to it being a very busy lunchtime our table was late. The staff were very apologetic and did inform us and came over a couple of times while we waited.
Food took quite a long time - again down to how busy that particular lunch session was, but even when the restaurant had died down to a very quiet level with few people in there the waiting staff had to chase our deserts.
Food was excellent and staff were lovely but as this was a business lunch the delay was somewhat frustrating.
The food and service (particularly at the bar) on arrival was excellent. However we waited for a long time for our food - perhaps nearly an hour. It was not until we started pulling pained faces at the table and looking at watches that we were given an update. We had some drinks knocked off the bill which was an appropriate gesture. The food once arrived was excellent and enjoyed by all. sadly the delay meant we could not stay for dessert or coffee. This won't stop me visiting again.
Ambiance was great, food was very good and can recommend the Ivy craft ale in an ice cold glass.
Staff professional and attentive. Overall good experience
Excellent food, very attentive service. Prices a little expensive however.
We booked lunch for a special occasion and it was a very lovely, enjoyable experience. Good food, great staff and nice personal touches. I would go again.
We went for after theatre dinner. Very nice place, relaxed nice atmosphere. Food was lovely, service good and middle of the road in terms of cost, not cheap but not overly expensive either. Will definitely return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Ivy, Temple Row. We chose the venue for my husband's 50th birthday and wouldn't hesitate to choose the same for another special celebration. The staff were professional and attentive and the food was delicious. A five star experience
I attended the Ivy for my mom's birthday and I wasn't disappointed. We were made to feel special from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The food was outstanding and the waiters very courteous and attentive. The setting was very relaxed and comfortable and not too noisy which was perfect for chatting over lunch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Ivy and look forward to returning soon!
Service was sensational thank you Jason for making my friends and I feel so welcome and spoilt x plus the food and cocktails were Devine
Great venue with very friendly and welcoming staff. Food was very good and the cocktails were also good. Will definitely return.
I would be selective in who I recommended.
All was good except the person on the door with a strange and disturbing hair style
