The Ivy Tower Bridge
With interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the two-floors restaurant will offer guests the choice of dining within the restaurant, enjoying the view from floor to ceiling glass windows, or outside on the Parisian-style al fresco terrace seating 50 and overlooking the River Thames.
We returned to this restaurant having had a couple of bad incidents in the past with the service but willing to try it again and this time it delivered what we expected of this particular type of restaurant. The food is always good but we find that the front of house is very chaotic when they are under pressure but this time it was not as busy and we had a great evening
Lovely location and views with outdoor dining available. The Ivy has a great reputation for good food and the spin-off brasserie restaurants do not disappoint with good quality food and attentive service. We had a party of 6 and we were looked after well. The shepherd's pie is very nice and not too large of a portion. The rump of lamb was also presented very well and was lovely. Good consistent quality.
I took my girlfriend for our anniversary and we both had an amazing time the view was stunning and the ambiance was unbelievable, the waiter and waiting staff were incredibly nice and extremely attentive, the food was of the highest quality and had so much flavour and my girlfriend can’t stop raving about the food. It was an expensive meal but nothing I wasn’t expecting and it was worth it, great value for money loved it.
I have been here on 3 previous occasions and have enjoyed it. This time it was not what I had come to expect. Food was .not good and as no one bothered to ask , we preferred to settle our bill and leave. Staff seemed disinterested, service was rushed and the whole experience was not what we had hoped for.
Lovely brunch. Thoroughly delighted with the whole experience x
Gorgeous decor and amazing setting. Service sporadic...toast turning up 10 mins after breakfast dish served. Confusion over drinks. Some dishes excellent bug partners cooked breakfast not great - sausage & black pudding over cooked. Food ok.
Great food, one lot of toast was forgotten, larger coffee pot would be good but overall good
The Ivy staff wasn’t at their best when we went. Ordering and getting drinks and food took a long time. For the drinks the hot chocolate was cold the first time and after the 3rd attempt they finally had it right.
If you aren’t in a hurry this place can work though. Food is good, venue is really beautiful and location is stunning.
Great place, great food with a great view of Tower Bridge, easy to access to anywhere in the city
I have eaten at several of the ivy restaurants and one thing you can be certain of is that the food is excellent and on a par, in my opinion, with some Michelin starred restaurants. Having said that the service can be somewhat hit and miss which is an unnecessary annoyance which should never occur! For the most part service was good but a couple of issues stopped it getting full marks, including time waiting for service and spillage that occurred
The restaurant was understaffed for the number of tables. We had no one greet us and had to go looking for someone to find our table.
We had the theatre to attend next door so had to be on time but we had 90mins. However, our food took ages, we had to ask several times to order. When we did order, our mains were stone cold, the sides were forgotten and we ended up in a rush. It was terrible. The waiter apologised and took one main course off the bill. But we would not go again. Fortunately it did not ruin the rest of our evening.
Had a lovely meal with lovely food and an excellent waitress.
The only criticism that we had was that the tables are too close together so you have no personal space and can hear everyone else’s conversations!
Absolutely fantastic service, staff are friendly, polite and talkative; extremely personable. The food was delicious and filling, drinks were superb. All the little things were perfectly in place; serviettes folded, blankets provided for outside dining etc. The view of Tower Bridge was the topper of a wonderful experience. Would recommend to anyone who would like that little luxurious treat.
Great place to meet a friend for lunch. We didn't feel rushed over our two courses, and everything was delightful. Staff were friendly and the service was good. I would have liked to see more than one option for vegetarians, but what I had (the Halloumi open sandwich) was delicious. If I had been vegan, it might have been a problem. The apple tart is to talk about!!
Fabulous lunch. The staff were perfectly patient waiting for our late guests and allowed us to wait without making us feel bad. Lovely food and drinks, nice experience all round
The service isn’t that nice to Asian ppl
Booked on a Friday night for a farewell meal with my sister and brother-in-law (from Australia) to be told that the grill wasn't working properly and that no hot food could be served. We decided to stay and choose from what was available. After choosing what we were told we could have we had to change it 3 times before it being served. The service was excellent and the staff could not have done more to try and compensate for the limited menu.
Lovely restaurant, with stunning views & a warm buzzing atmosphere. Food was delicious, and piping hot! An ideal venue for a special occasion. Oh and a special mention for The Ivy special G&T... which was amazing!
Had a really nice time for my anniversary with my wife. The waiter was brilliant and the food was exceptional.
We had the champagne afternoon tea which was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The food is a bit overpriced but you wouldn't mind due to the great location and views (Tower Bridge and the Tower of London) if the quality was in accordance.
Unfortunately it isn't the case. The lobster risotto didn't taste lobster at all, not even the lobster meat bits. We ordered also the lobster linguine and it was so spicy hot that we have to ask them to take it back to the kitchen (they agreed it wasn't acceptable). They offered to cook it again but we refused (at this point our taste buds were dead) so we asked for a couple of different things. I had the salmon, which was basically tasteless.
As to compensate us for the awful dining experience we were offered ... a free coffee, hooray! which we refused as we just didn't feel as trying anything else.
When the bill cam we noticed that the service charge was included, a whopping £17.50 12.5% I estimated. We didn't even bother to challenge it as we just wanted to leave.
Disappointing is an understatement, it is a place not to come back again and certainly not to recommend.
Our waitress, think her name was Sam.( black and white hair) was excellent.
I went here for my birthday lunch , was a total surprise and I absolutely loved it . We had a table at 3oc so wasn’t too busy, service , food and watching the world go by along the embankment... brilliant !
I had fish and chips followed by chocolate bomb... both really tasty . Highly recommend
This was my third and my dining companion's fifth visit to this particular Ivy. Why do we keep going back? Good food, great cocktails, Ivy Royale is a favourite, and excellent service. One of the few places left where flambe is done at your table, apple tart with calvados flambe, yum! Prices are on the high side for lunch time but the whole experience is worth it. Will be going back for my birthday lunch in late October.
A wonderful lunch. Service by Stefano was excellent.
Very Attentive service , understood its was for a business meet and handled us and the environment very well
Lovely meal at the Ivy Tower Bridge. When we arrived at 8.30 (late dinner anyway) our table wasn't ready and we were told to go to the bar. When we sat at the bar the bar staff told us to sit on the sofas. We sat on the sofas and it took 20mins to be asked for a drink. Our table was now ready by then so we never got to have a drink in the bar. Food was superb very delicious dishes. The waiters were nice. We were the only ones left at the end and we weren't taking ages to eat didn't even have a dessert and the lights were turned off before 10.30pm we asked them if they were closing and they said no we close at midnight. Just a bit bizarre as we got the feeling we weren't welcome and they wanted us to go. Shame as we really enjoyed the food but didn't feel like we fitted in.
Nice venue, good service, tasty food, good service, easy location for London Bridge.
Had lunch in the Ivy tower bridge. Great food, great service, great ambiance.
For a Business meeting breakfast this was a perfect location right up until 9am when the restaurant became a little too noisy in our section for continued discussions. The quality of food and speed of service was excellent as usual. Will be back.
Fantastic food complemented with exceptional service.
Was sat by door which proved extremely annoying with waiters comings and goings leaving the door open - could not enjoy the meal as consistently needed to close the door to stop the draught
We had a very nice meal the food was great the customer service excellent will visit again very soon
Excellent attentive service, great food and a great view
Great food, good location but the restaurant acoustics increased the noise from conversations on neighbouring tables to intrusive. Would be fine if you were in a large party but was intrusive when eating as a couple
Great staff, extremely attentive and happy to please.
Food is not just well presented but it tastes as good as it looks.
Can't wait to go back, despite the price which is worthwhile.
Food was great as usual. However service was poor
Lovely breakfast, the complimentary second coffee was a nice surprise. Staff were fantastic and it was all good value for money too
The Ivy was more than perfect. Outstanding staff and food! My partner had the English Breakfast and I salmon crumpet and it was so delicious and fresh! We were both more than satisfied! The ivy is worth its money! We were there at 9.00 am and were the first table to be seated so the service was also very fast and the atmosphere was calm and nice! We had a perfect view on the tower bridge. Would definitely recommend! We‘ll be back!
Great restaurant chain which I normally love to go to, but on this occasion the time it took them to service our main course after clearing our starters was way too long! After waiting 40 minutes I had to ask the waiter to check on our food and only then did it arrive. I would definitely go back to The Ivy but I am not sure if I would go back to this specific one.
