The Ivy Tower Bridge
With interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the two-floors restaurant will offer guests the choice of dining within the restaurant, enjoying the view from floor to ceiling glass windows, or outside on the Parisian-style al fresco terrace seating 50 and overlooking the River Thames.
Thank you to the two lovely waiters (apologies didn’t catch their names, one had a lovely ring from Morocco on his finger and the other wore glasses and looked a little like Clarke Kent) who were very helpful and very kind. A special Thank you for bringing out our pancakes and an extra dessert with the birthday messages on it. My sister in law was very chuffed and loved her birthday treat. Great service. Smiling staff and very welcoming indeed
Great food, enthusiastic and friendly service, good location/views - recommended. We had breakfast on a Saturday morning at 10am.
Service and food was great! Would definitely recommend to others visiting!
Fantastic meal, beautiful surroundings, very helpful staff - couldn’t be faulted, can’t wait to come back!
I usually love the ivy, however after ordering a steak and having to return it twice (over done as it had been left on the hot plate after being returned the first time) our meal was ruined. Service to rectify by our server was great, only to be marred by the bad attitude of the manager when we highlighted this situation to him, couldn’t care less springs to mind.
I have to say that I was not particularly impressed by The Ivy. And considering the prices, I would definitely expect to be.
I arrived a little early for my booking intending to have a cocktail in the bar prior to moving to my table only to be told that 'the bar is full'. Which is not only astounding but, as it was absolutely pouring outside was also slightly annoying and far from a good start.
Once our table was available, my friend and I were pleased to have been allocated a nice place right by the window with lovely views of the river. The food was fine - on a par with Brown's - but about 30% more expensive. The service was poor, waiter appeared frazzled and had no concept of unobtrusive service. Appearing repeatedly at the table when he was not required and unavailable when he was needed.
All in all The Ivy is not a bad restaurant but it is overpriced for what it offers. Granted, the location is lovely but there are a few restaurants in the same area which also have great views and a better overall offering besides.
Food not as good as in previous visits but the location is fab and the service was excellent as always.
Absolutely amazing. And just next to the Bridge theatre. Best place to go before the theatre
Me and my girlfriend went here for breakfast, we decided to have some pastries and coffee then had some lunch when the menu changed. Great service and food. My 2nd time there within a couple of weeks of each other. I recommend it highly😊.
Very poor, slow service although it was not that busy. It took a good 15 minutes for wine to arrive (after two of our three starters - we had to remind them to bring the third) and that standard didn’t improve all evening. After a long delay for mains arriving, the batter for the fish was badly undercooked. Overall, exceptionally disappointing.
Fantastic food. Good service and lovely atmosphere but a bit noisy. Issue is only 1hour 45 mins allowed for table. Just enough time for starter and main. No time for desert. Need tables for longer please.
1 hour to get our main course - fortunately the Sardinian waiter (Stefano ?) stepped up to save the day. Understaffed given how busy it is.
Did not charge one of the mains to their credit.
Liked it a lot so will return but pre theatre a gamble
I booked a table for a birthday lunch, requesting a quiet spot. We were taken to an informal table by the window, not a formal 'dressed' table. Still, the food was very good, although we had to request a dessert menu and clearance of our mains plates. Other than this, we really enjoyed our lunch and will return on another occasion.
It is a nice brasserie with a widespread menu. We booked a table for 4 persons and arrived with 5. It took a good hour waiting at the bar before we sat down. The tables are very close together and the noise level is quite load.
The service was outstanding, couldn't have been better. The metal-framed chairs were not that comfortable, I was told. I sat on a bench. The food was very good, but not outstanding. The menue is a peculiar mix; no particular line. My tartare had too much Tabasco. The meat flavour was lost. It was a very enjoyable occasion, expensive, but we expected that.
I have been to previous Ivy restaurants and had a wonderful experience. On this occasion it was deeply disappointing. I had booked the reservation in advance, to share with friends who had travelled down from Aberdeen so we could celebrate a 40th birthday and wedding anniversary, of which I had made clear when I booked the table. Upon arrival we were poked in a corner table with half of the guests facing outwards at a wall with hoarding. The waiter was the main problem, he has really let down his colleagues. He had the personality of an undertaker he was uninterested in our needs, made no attempt to interact, cleared the table as some were still eating, and when asked if he could wait he continued. He assumed he could keep our change even though the is an automatic 10% surcharge. From what we could see the restaurant was beautiful, and the food was excellent. The waiter ruined the evening, probably the worse I've experienced in a long time, which from our friends first experience of an Ivy restaurant was tarnished. We made the receptionist aware who seemed genuinely concerned, making note of our party booking. So far we have had no contact since from any of the management.
Unfortunately the food took a long time to arrive meaning that we had to run to get next door to the theatre. When our food did arrive it was very disappointing- the steak was overcooked and the fish was somewhat tasteless. We did not have the time to complain while we were there, but despite the elegant surroundings, we were unimpressed by the overall experience.
Great welcome and service, with attention to detail in every sense. A wonderful view from the restaurant and a fabulous atmosphere - can highly recommend.
My friend and I had afternoon tea here and it was really delicious. The service is excellent and the waiters are very attentive and helpful. The restaurant itself is delightful and the surroundings and decoration are really lovely. We were here for 2 hours and never felt rushed and they even gave us free tea refills! We'll definitely be back.
The Ivy at Tower Bridge is my "go to" for both business and personal dining. It consistently performs well in all areas and the value is exceptional for the quality of the food. Love it here, will continue to recommend to others and to visit. Thank you.
Ivy meal fine as ever. Great difficulty in booking a table for nine which was resolved satisfactorily on the day but involved lots of phone calls and unsatisfactory replies until we actually got there. Busy lunchtime meant service was slow which meant we ordered less wine than we might have done. Also restricted menu for a table of nine without advance warning. Staff were good and we enjoyed the meal but the experience could have been better without the little niggles mentioned.
We arrived for lunch at 12:20, with a table reserved. The main course arrived at 13:20. No explanation or apology. We have had good service at the Ivy in earlier visits so this was a real disappointment.
We were well looked-after for lunch before a matinee at The Bridge, with good food, served rather slowly, but worth waiting for. The atmosphere was buzzy and lively. Loved the enormous urns filled with summer blooms; gloriously theatrical touch!
We booked a table just a few hours before, having seen the restaurant near our hotel. We’ve been to the main Ivy restaurant on several occasions (pre children) - and it was a similar experience - just less formal, louder and busier. Waiter was friendly and helpful, food completely delicious and the price was reasonable too. The boys (aged 10 and 11) loved it as well - especially the chocolate Bombe for pudding.
Amazing experience, food was lovely, atmosphere was great and the staff were so friendly. Thank you for a great experience.
Excellent servility, lovely food and idyllic setting
Fabulous in every respect- recommended. But people, please don’t take selfies at the bar - just enjoy yourselves!
A loud and clattery environment with good views across the Thames. Seating is very crowded with people shoved into every available - I was knocked several times by waiters and couldn't stretch my legs out! Service was ok, plenty of staff. Food choice was great as they have a separate vegan and veggie menu, and the food was mostly really good. Shame about the coffee.
Don't think the staffs are well trained. We had table outdoor and there was a bee flying around our table. We asked the staff to help us keep the bee away, and he said: sorry I can't do anything. And left. I mean, at least show some sympathy about our situation could do the trick. (I know its actually very little they can do.)
I have been to this restaurant a few times and been seated in different areas there are no downsides to any position. The waitress we had couldn't be attentive we wasn't rushed the whole experience was a great meal out.
A lovely meal with great service. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
Despite being very busy, we weren’t kept waiting and everything felt smooth and effortless. Will definitely be returning next time in London.
We were very disappointed that my husband ‘s main food arrived when the rest of us nearly finishing ours .
They should have kept ours until all the foods were ready .
The Ivy Tower Bridge is easily accessed by foot - there is no way for a taxi to get very close, but once there it has a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere and the wait staff were very attentive. The food arrived quickly and was fantastic. There were four people in my party, and everyone enjoyed their meal very much. The bill arrived almost instantly, which was great because we had theatre tickets next door.
Birthday celebration - fabulous 5 star customer service - superb food choice - soon to return again 👍
The service was friendly but we received the bill until I mentioned we were still waiting for our dessert which took a ridiculous amount of time.
Great food cooked to perfection and very delightful staff!
Unfortunately the table was near the cleaning area and there was old food on the floor, which I had to request to be cleaned.
Also the "tuna special" was lukewarm and the drinks took a long time to come.
We have been here a couple of times and have enjoyed the food on both occasions.
Service is very good.
We will definitely be returning 🙂
Great team and great service as usual! Chris was extremely helpful!
Picked the ivy as we were celebrating a special birthday. Nothing about the experience was at all special. Pretty disappointed if I’m honest, expected more. Wouldn’t return and I wouldn’t recommend
